06:07 Fun Fact : Apart from being the voice actor for Aizen from the anime Bleach and the master Gibeon,Yasushi Ōhama, better known under his stage name Sho Hayami was also the voice actor for Ark Zero from the Kamen Rider Zero One Series.
The best episode of this series so far. This series has me so much more engaged than Pokemon Journeys. It has an actual plot and I love the return of a proper evil organisation since Team Flare in XYZ. And personally I do like the whole Rayquaza plot line. I think there will be a magical finale at the end. I literally can't wait for the next episode already. It's so good.
Based on the portrayal of the episode when Rayquaza appeared, Draco Meteor'd, and then up & left, Rayquaza kinda feels a little like an Eternatus-like situation as even though it was in the Ball, it just up & left {as Roy decided at the end of the ep he wanted to catch Rayquaza again}. And I'm going out on a limb to say that since Amethio & Ceruledge's pairing might have to do with the gem color-reference, maybe new character Spinel might be the same (say perhaps with Armarouge). And Funny thing: when this episode came out, anipoke had disclosed some parts of it: one of the things was Ceruledge vs Farfretch'd. My reaction was that does Friede really think a Farfetch'd could really take down Ceruledge?!?! {whether it's Kantonian or Galarian, fight, I still don't think it would've stood a chance against the Fire Swordsman pokemon!!!!!}.... And then it turns out it was for the Pokemon Seminar end-segment.
Since I don't really have the time or any way of watching the anime, the most I get before your reviews are summaries of the major events of each episode, which usually doesn't leave me happy with the episode. But then your reviews come in and not only give me a new perspective, but also help restore a little hope in me, so I thank you for that. And don't worry about the delay. We understand your reasoning and I'm sure at least most of us are patient enough to wait. Now I just hope Nemona doesn't get the same treatment as Hau, Hop and Marnie, cause thanks to Serebii I know she is to appear soon.
Thank you so much! That's really a nice thing to say! :) kinda motivates me even more to do videos^^ And YEAH I also really hope that they are going to give Nemona some justice especially after the treatment Galar got from journeys
I absolutely loved this episode and how crazy it was in the beginning but wholesome for the remainder. This is truly the beginning for our new protagonists Liko and Roy. I'm definitely giving this episode a 10/10.
During a meeting with Gibeon other members of the Explorers were shown, among them only Amethio and Spinel spoke during the meeting while the other three stayed hidden in the shadows. This kind of reminds me of some of those Pretty Cure Anime in which the Big Bad has meetings with their minions/generals to discuss the Pretty Cures aka their enemies and how to defeat them in order to accomplish their goal.
It was interesting to learn a little bit about the Explorers' team group structure; like how we got to see all 5 Admin Execs of the Explorers along with Explorers Master Gibeon (also interesting to learn that Amethio is an Admin as well). And I'm going out on a limb to say that since Amethio & Ceruledge's pairing might have to do with the gem color-reference, maybe new character Spinel might be the same (say perhaps with Armarouge).
This episode was nuts. Also, currently speculating that the pendant and PokeBall, when used in tandem, can bring forth imagined Pokemon, or essentially manifest wishes. Note, that both activate when Liko is pleading for something to save them, plus with Roy's grandfather feeding him all these stories of an ancient adventurer who befriended Legendaries, it could be why it manifested as a Rayquaza. (And why it left/disappeared after it chased off Amethio and noticed her. It had granted her wish. Plus, the line about asking if it really existed from Spinel has me questioning if that's meant to be foreshadowing.) But if my theory proves true, we can potentially even see more Pokemon spawn from Roy's ball, and imagine if it falls into the wrong hands. Super curious to see what becomes of Amethio since we'll likely get more with him sooner or later as he did notice the resonance between the mysterious items, and who the other admins are (the ones that didn't speak anyway), and what Gibeon's goals are.
Also, pretty sure that ancient adventurer story might have been a load of 🐂💩 from the old man, considering he doesn't really actually know all that much about it. He does say he just found it on a beach one day when he was younger and then gave it to Roy when he had taken interest in it. He could have just made up the story to entertain his grandson.
Yes I was also thinking in that direction. I mean wouldn't it explain why rayquaza couldn't be called back into the ball? Since Rayquaza never even really was captured with said ball?
1:24 Even long after it's honorless demise, Journeys is the gift that keeps on giving ... examples on how to not write stories. That shade was beautiful and well deserved. As for the Episode ... ehh, it basically encapsulated what I feared most for Horizons and from Roy ... it's not enough that a legendary shows up out of nowhere, but it's a shiny legendary! Please clap! This is the same lazy and meaningless sensationalism-creep that had infected journeys, and they based a whole character's story on it. I honestly was about to close the episode at that point ... and the only thing that made me not regret watching the rest was the preview for the next episode, which showed some promise for some development, or at least setup ... even is placeholder-pikachu seems to have a central role in it. But if this episode is an indicator for what's to come, the series won't hold me for long.
I have nothing to watch it on so im watching reviews as always, I haven't paid much attention to this anime I want it rise to the challenge. But it's not intriguing much, maybe now days I have standards high then I thought
Haha well that just shows you what kind of dumpster fire journeys was. The fact that I instantly recall some of its major flaws by just watching a scene that even remsembles it kinda tells you a lot xD Tbh at I don't really want to completely give up on Roy. At least he doesn't seem to be a copy paste version of ash and I really like his chemistry with Fuecoco. But I gotta admit that this whole story with rayquaza still hasn't convinced me on either Roy or just the whole lore in regards of the ancient Poke all especially with how vague everything has been explained so far. I do hope that everything will make sense with hindsight, but I don't really expect it. And YEAH the next few episodes seem to be promising in terms of character development (also I somewhat have a soft spot for Cpt. Pikachu xD) and I also really am looking forward for the whole progression with the explorers and amethio ^^
@@PokemonRangerBoy12 There's a good chance you could find an example for everything happening in Horions (or, anywhere) that Journeys did worse ^^ And yeah, my disgust with the whole setup is less about Roy himself, and more about the fact that apparently they can't tell "interesting" stories without using legendaries. Not that I like Roy much, even if he's not an exact copy of Ash, he's still the same archetype - with WAY too much Gou thrown into the mix. He saw a special Pokemon and now he wants to fight all the special Pokemon ... ugh! I wouldn't expect everything to makes sense afterwards, but I guess the vagueness is to have some mysteries they can uncover later ... that's fine with me, but I also don't care ^^
I hope it won't be too long before that Shiny Rayquaza that was summoned from Roy's ancient Poké Ball will appear again in any one of the future episodes of Pokemon Horizons. But how on earth is Amethio gonna find that Black Rayquaza? It could be anywhere in the Pokemon world or in space.
