Main Mulu - Blackfoot & Monster Beetle desktop review

I'm starting a new series of content where I'll showcase some of my growing collection of RC cars that I've built.
In today's episode I'll be talking about two cars that share the same chassis, the Tamiya Blackfoot & Monster Beetle!

My problem with the BF was the drive axle on the right hand side popping out - solved with a spacer between the axle and the body of the gear box. Building MB next

I was always more of a fan of the Blackfoot, probably as it was my first hobby grade RC back in 88.
I now have the Monster Beetle sitting on a shelf and now I see why it's so popular.

Aaaaaasum !! I have never understood why everyone has to slavishly copy the box art ! It's your model , you are allowed to paint it how you want . be creative . 😍😍 I had a Monster Beetle back in the day , and painted it in desert camo , like the soldiers wore in the Gulf War .....she was called Desert Storm .

My first hobby grade rc was a Tamiya monster beetle back in 1987 followed by the Tamiya Blackfoot in 1988 i love those chassis’s and I still can’t make my mind up which one I prefer the best I like them both.My recommendation for alloy shocks would be the Tamiya hi caps.

Thanks! I always thought the hi caps were too short (well, not that i think of it, the rears should work 🤔)

@@KevinOei yes you would need two pairs of rear Tamiya hi cap shocks. I used to have a lunchbox and I had Tamiya terra scorcher front shocks on it the stance looked great as I am not sure if the short shocks would work on a Blackfoot wheels would rub on arches I would think.
