Hey Rebecca! Tell Matt he did a great job! This one might be a nice choice for short-wheelbase scale builds. At 8" wide, it'll tuck the wheels completely under most compact trucks in 1:9, and with narrower tires and possibly more-positive-offset wheels, 1:10. I think people would like the smaller scale, if only their buddies weren't 'compensating' by running 313+ and 5" tires, making them look... inadequate.
Just got mine in the mail and am planning on putting the new WPL C74 Suzuki Samurai body on it. The truck actually runs far better than I had expected and seems to be a great deal for the money.
@@Wingnut-kp7rw I just had the same thing happen to mine! Seems to a weak spot, looking at options for a metal driveshaft but there doesn’t seem to be much support yet since it is a newer platform.
Always something new to learn! I didn't know about the dollhouse thing. Pretty neat little tip for accessories if you are lacking. The D90 in my PFP is 1/12 scale, and the figure used is from a 2 pack kit for artists that I had to dig for online. He fits perfect minus the legs. Super cool they put you in the game there! You deserve it, man
Wait- This isn't just a CR12?!... I'll have to grab one of these and see if I can wedge a touring car size body on it. Or maybe one of those WPL samurai bodies?...Or a 3D printed thing like a Lada Niva...or...hrm...Ooh- It'd probably fit under a Tamiya semi style build pretty well, no 6WD but a 4x4 is fine toooo....so many options with these narrower axles! Edit : a quick look at the axle housings shows that an output could probably be designed and 3d printed with relative ease, as the diff cover screws on from the input side with the cover having 4 long posts the screws go into.
Hey Rebecca please tell Matt to stop saying that “he loves reading through the comments” because he let the cat out of the bag on a live stream that he doesn’t bother Anyway another great video!! 👍
Believe it or not, he reads most of the comments and answers all the technical ones. I answer the rest and share feedback with him. This lets him focus on building and filming!
The wheelbase is perfect for Stampede sized bodies. Especially with some 1.55 wheels and tires. Or maybe 1.9s if you are going for a certain look. Either way great video and I should go out and get one
I like the hard body you have there, why spend money on a different one, and we all know that you love working stuff like that, and I really would like to see a video on making windshields
Glad to see another 1/12 scale crawler for the market. I do have a CR12 F150, and this truck does seem to be similar. I for one like the body that comes with the Element 12. I like the rims and tires that come with this truck, the tires look bigger than my stock wheels and tires would like to try a set of these on my CR12. I currently have Trailwalker tires and rims on mine, and it makes it more capable, but it looks more like a monster truck with those. Also wondering if any Element 12 parts would work on my CR12 for upgrades. I still have the plastic gears in my axles, would be cool if the gears for this truck would work in mine, but probably not. Anyway looking forward to seeing how your build goes. I also have a Trailwalker I enjoy and just got a SCX24.
FJ Cruiser looked good on there but so did the custom Turk Jerp body. I'd say if you're doing your own links, then whip up a set for the custom and save the stock set for the FJ body if you ever get bored.
I've had my eye on these for ages now, and after expanding my 1/18th scale lineup, I'm heavily considering picking up one of these to turn into a 1/18th scale Dakar truck
I have the CR12 and I’m currently working on getting a Blackfoot body detailed for it. I can say I’d much rather have the servo on axle because I have gobs of bump steer on the CR12. This little enduro gets my nod of approval
Nice to see that Element did indeed re-design and not just re-brand the CR12. But those sliders are in fact identical to the CR12 Tioga trail truck ones and shocks are awfully similar looking too. Links are aluminium on the CR12 though. I did a similar job on my CR12 where I replaced the body with a 3D printed (and partially self designed) body and a trailer. I have some photos in my insta of the project if anyone is interested. 😏
I see some Tioga CR12 parts in there! I like my CR12 like the scale good for cold winter days inside and I take it camping, get weird looks from other campers and I love it.
I'm surprised this did not happen sooner with the cr12 and all that and yes I know there different but here's to hoping for a fj body or one of the others speaking of which what happened to the volvo ay
This is a pretty decent size, vut I wish someone would make a size in-between the micros and 1/10. This 1/12 is kinda small but I want like a 1/16 thats a bit bigger than a TRX4-M for indoor crawling. Perhaps I could just deal with the larger size of the Enduro 12.
1/12 is an odd scale. Not micro and too small to compete with 1/10. I love the enduro se body style and how it can tuck large tires. Too bad they didn’t do something new with that body and 1/10 scale. I’m sure someone will love it.
Hi, great content! Serious question,, do you think this element enduro 12 chassis would be a suitable substitute/ alternative for a UTB 18 chassis regarding the tamiya sand scorcher build?
@scalebuildersguild Hey thanks for the reply! Time to hunt down an orange fox UTB 18 then. Big fan here from Western Australia, Perth . 👍 Great show, I've also noticed the hobby is great for men's health too, all that mental heath stuff, keeping in touch with mates and the actual crawling events are all good stuff for a bloke /dad these days.
It' kinda goofy how there's an error on the box stating that the wheelbase is 7.9 inches when it is actually 10.5" / 267mm (and this has been carried over to some online retailers specs as well). That's the same as the longest wheelbase they made on the Tamiya CC-01. This thing is 1/10th scale in 80s-90s-2000s terms.
what size wheels/tires are those stock and what hex size do they use? any ideas about what aftermarket parts are out there like motors, gears, diffs, shocks, etc. Nice about the esc having ports for lights on a 4ch remote. Thanks for the video. Would love more breakdowns when possible; for example how good the servo actually is and any servo saver and what size would fit on there. Thanks!
1.55 Wheels. 12mm hex. Any 380 motor will fit, but I don't think there's a ton of upgrades for gears/diffs. I can't offer scientific findings on servos, but it is a smaller than typical servo, seeing as it's 12th scale, and it's reasonably strong for a stock RTR.
@@scalebuildersguild Thank you good sir... sounds a bit like the stuff in the utb18 too. Guess time will tell if aftermarket parts might come out including alum links or something... though I'd prefer hard smooth plastics over the soft ones there now. but alas. Thanks for the info, that should help out many of us.
You touched the lexan. HE TOUCHED THE LEXAN!

Nice that they included waterproof shocks with this truck.

Looks like it could be a lot of fun.
Battery, rock sliders and plastic shocks (that WILL eventually leak pretty soon) and maybe motor, seem to come straight out of the CR12.

The shocks seem to be the same as the cr12, but other than that I’d say it’s new. lol
Technically he had it before the new year so he didnt burn his lexan calendar. Nor did he paint, cut or modify the lexan.
