When you shoot at a construction site 20 times you probably compromised yourself that much already to be able to make a ranging shot, a really begginer type thing. Also I might add the setting. Is that IRAQ? Then there should be no issue there, but if it's Afghanistan (which mostly is at ~2000m altitude it makes a huge difference, since due to the thinner air the bullets will be slowed down slower, which will result in a 20% or so longer range/less drop). Not sure if Squad can actually simulate that (ArmA + ACE does)

I remember I used to play a game where there was a marksman rifle with crosshair only in the scope, i dont remember if they forgot to put the bars in or it was to be put later but in the end we had just one horizontal stick and vertical one. It was near impossible to make shot further than 500 m. No rangefinder no measurements of distance, just point at the target and judge the distance by your experience. One of possibilities was to just make a ranging shot. I am aware that probably in battle conditions it would not be a thing due to high probablility of being compromised and well... being shot at yourself in the end

tip for mouse sens, keep your mouse software sens REALLY high, like crazy high and then put your in game sens really low and you can make much smaller and smoother adjustments. learned it awhile back and it is so much better than normal sens
@Phil Jones I don't know the exact calculations but having a higher dpi is only effective up to 1000 dpi and 1000 is the best as it lines up with how many times the mouse checks if it has been moved.

20 minute queue is on you for joining a crowded a server, sensitivity is a one time thing unless you have ocd, vip slot is never needed, and running 15 minutes away from squad is far in squad and the opposite how you play any team based game so ofc ur gonna get kicked
You can literally see the bullet impacts that’s all you need to figure out where to aim. Look for the impact and adjust accordingly. You need to keep note of where ur reticle is compared to the point of impact. You don’t need a squad leader to give you range marks. Pay attention to the impacts.
The point of the spotter is to not need ranging shots, or at least minimize it. The scope is (based on other comments) so far off of where it says the shot will land that it is more harmful than good to have a spotter.

depend on the range and the bullet type , at very long range the power of the bullet is reduce also if you shot a soft lead bullet it will flat out on impact and no do much , you need armor percing bullet for that : )
@@TheJimyyy you dont fire soft lead rounds out of the 50/12.7 mm almost all military ammunition is full metal jacket, as its required by the geneva conventions, you cannot use ammunition that is purpose built to fragment or deform upon striking a target. he has a point though, the 50 cal/12.7 MM should still punch through those walls even at ranges past 1000m
The easy way to find out the right range is using clicks, shoot an object at a distance, and aim to this item with the middle point of your scope, see where it hits and compensate according to where it hits. More important for snipers is to do homework first. Get to a position with your spotter, choose 4-5 key points and measure the distance then once you have them all its easier to communicate with your teammate, something like : 4 contacts, house with the red roof, 760 meters, strong wind from the south, pay attention to wind changes , flags, if there’s any clothes hanged on the roofs.. good luck 😘
I don't think the game has wind physics. If it did 90% of players would never touch any kind of long range weapons they would never hit anything outside of luck.
This is not a weapon system for a squad. This should be SL+1 and used either as a solo squad or a support squad. Furthermore, a headshot from this should send the target straight to the spawn screen.

To range the sniper for me personally I would have put a little hat that is like what I think Is 2-3k meters lower than the actual meters on a specific place that I can re adjust to later and remember where the bullet hit, wherever the bullet hit on your little things is where you shoot
Really I think with a little more time you'll be effective look how effective you were at the very end soon as you got your range in and got somebody out of your ear all you have to do is range and headshots
@FriendlyNikolai The first guy that was on the roof crouched 500m you shot underneath his AK so did not clip the body frame, always shoot center mass. The people on the roof that was supposedly 950m away at 07:15 and you aimed at 950m but your bullet impacted the wall below them at 1050m, that was the distance you should've shot. The next time you shot you aimed 1000m at the head but your bullet impacted the gun shield. Technically you should have killed the guy. I think the devs did not add penetration to emplacements for the weapon

Trick aim at the wall next to them to get your bullet drop from the impact and then try them and idk what that optic is zeroed to but you should be using the bottom half of the reticle not the top half must be zeroed to like a mile or something

The scope is acutally 200 meters off and the reticle will corrected and optimized. You need to aim a 1700 meters to hit at 1500.

tip about game mechanics when it comes to long range and that is IF you see 700m for example, add an additional 15-25m for drop.
Depends on the rifle, I have a video showing 6 kills at 800m with the Timberwolf without adjusting for bullet drop.
They should have added a class with a dedicated spotting scope along with the sniper.

If you played the game you would know that the scope is off by 200 meters. DOPE will be extremely difficult with that inaccuracy.

You can adjust your range buy firing a couple of shots. It is not too complex to guess the distance.
I would use it in urban combat, I have seen countries and the Mexican Cartels use the 50 as if it was a rifle.
Squeeze a round off at long ranges like that and see where POI is and adjust accordingly
