About the "identical" flags, some have slight differences, such as the Luxembourg flag has a lighter tone than the Netherlands one (and they also have a different ensign to avoid confusions), Ireland starts with the green whereas Ivory Coast starts with the orange (a mirrored image), and similar story with Poland vs Monaco & Indonesia, Poland has the white stripe up and red stripe down whereas the others are the opposite (and Poland also includes the crest in the white strip of its ensign). The flag of the Netherlands (Holland) and Luxembourg are different as well, the Luxembourger flag's blue stripe is brighter then the Dutch flag. The flags of Monaco and Indonesia are the same, but Poland's flag is the flag of Monaco and Indonesia but flipped upside-down.

A funny and interesting video. About the "identical" flags, some have slight differences, such as the Luxembourg flag has a lighter tone than the Netherlands one (and they also have a different ensign to avoid confusions), Ireland starts with the green whereas Ivory Coast starts with the orange (a mirrored image), and similar story with Poland vs Monaco & Indonesia, Poland has the white stripe up and red stripe down whereas the others are the opposite (and Poland also includes the crest in the white strip of its ensign). For these small differences, I can say that the flags in the video are Netherlands (with a dark blue), Ivory Coast (starting with the orange), and the last Poland (white stripe up, red down). But definitely, Indonesia & Monaco are in troubles as Chad & Romania (fortunately Andorra decided to place its crest in the flag to make some distinction, otherwise... :) )

I'm shocked by how many people are illiterate in basic geometry. Here is a somewhat comprehensive explanation of the geometric confusion:
• a quadrilateral is a shape with four sides
• a parallelogram is a quadrilateral with opposite sides parallel
• a rectangle is a parallelogram with all right angles
• a rhombus is a parallelogram with all sides of equal length
• a square is a rectangle and a rhombus, or a shape with all right angles and all sides of equal length
TLDR; a square is a rectangle but a rectangle isn't a square.

Eh, I kinda see what you're talking about with vertical white centre stripe and red/green outer-stripes, but Rhodesia had their coat of arms in the middle, whereas Canada has a Maple leaf, which, whilst I would love that to be the official Canadian coat of arms, isn't, so its not an exact rip-off, let's call it an evolution.

Actually it's a blue background with the state seal in the middle. What's funny is over half the states use a flag that follows this rule maybe only changing the color of the background (for example Washington state has a green background instead of blue)

Being a kid who grew up in, and around Bannock country I would always see the Pokey flag, and think "Oh that's just what all city flags look like. Thankfully they finally changed it in 2017.

Ireland and Cote D'Ivoire are flipped over the Y axis. Poland is flipped over the X axis from Monaco and Indonesia, which are shaped slightly differently.
Luxembourg also uses a notably different shade of blue compared to the Netherlands.
Chad and Romania are the same. They might technically have different shades but it's not easy to tell.
