I’m having some health issues with my joints, but we had a family trip planned for New York City. This ruclips.net/user/postUgkxuxJwamLFanm476LC5WPeTouyyU1GXomC was perfect! It’s lightweight enough that my friend could carry it up or down stairs when we needed to. (I can walk very short distances) It was comfortable for me to sit in, I would say if you’re super tall it might be a little cramped. I’m 5’1” and the foot rests were the perfect height. This may not be the best one for long term use, you get what you pay for, but for something that fits our budget that gives me accessibility while we deal with my health this was amazing.

Best thing I have EVER purchased for myself!!! I have had my Electra 7 for a year now and it is the most sturdy, reliable, and comfortable chair I have ever used. It is quite heavy once folded up so just make sure you are stable enough to be able to lift it if you do not have a lift. But I can pick it up and put it back in my hatch and I have MS and very unsteady walking. This beauty really goes ANYWHERE and the batteries are very long lasting. I had a ball with my friends and family going up and down the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach, taking a tour of the Newport Aquarium in KY, up and down elevators at three different huge hotels, and to fold it up and stash it under a desk in a hotel room is a breeze to give everyone in the room plenty of walking space. Grass, light sand, uneven ground, brick, cement, even wooden planking, this beauty zooms right on through. I was kind of freaked at first to get used to the slipping cross walks but once I did, the Electra is perfect!!! Dining is also great since I can just pull up to the table but I need to remind myself to watch my knees so I don’t bang into the table legs. It is just fantastic and I love it!!! The black is what I chose and it blends in with everything. Thank you and I hope you love your Electra too.

I recently bought the Electra 7 HD. Best money I ever spent in my life. Excellent design, workmanship, and power. Now I am able to move around without depending on someone else and I feel Great. I am a Veteran and now my trips to VA is a lot more easier. I honestly believe that you should get together with VA and see if you can make your product available and workout a deal with them. All this for under $3000. GREAT!!

I got the Eagle, which is the same as this chair, only narrower. I placed the order for the Eagle on 10-14-19. It was originally due to arrive on 10-18-19, but UPS now tells me the new delivery date is tomorrow, the 22th. I'm a right leg, above the knee, amputee and am really looking forward to getting it. I'm going to use it a lot outdoors. I saw where someone was concerned that it has no anti-tip wheels, but that doesn't bother me, because my regular wheelchair has them and they are constantly snagging the hose pipe as I maneuver around my front yard watering the grass. I realize it is not a 4x4 4-wheeler, and am not expecting it to act like one. When I get it, I'll let you all know what I think about it. Later, Bobby
It arrived and it is what I was expecting. The tires are wider than those on my regular wheelchair (those skinny tires made it hard to wheel around my yard) - The Eagle just goes right on along. The ramp into my house rises 17 inches over a lenght of 118 inches and the Eagle motors right on up it, no problem and it didn't ever try to tip over backwards. I took it up to the cabin and it carried me all over, even up the hill to the picnic table. You really need to anticipate stopping it. It doesn't stop immediately upon releasing the toggle - I knew it wouldn't. I almost ran into my birdbath because I didn't allow enough time for it to stop - I've got that issue down pat now. Upon entering my garage and going along beside my car, it's nice to slow the speed down (that's controlled on the left side of the joystick thingee). The only thing I'd recommend is that it come in a camouflage paint job. All, in all, I LIKE it.

Hello D, Great question. That depends on the confidence level of the driver. Keep in mind, the joystick is sensitive to pressure, to similar to a car, the further you push the excelerator (joystick knob) the more power the chair has. That being said, my personal preference using the attendant controller is to put the chair in high speed and use the amount of pressure I feel comfortable with. Our Grandma LOVED going outside in her chair, and we used an attendant controller bracket in the way I just described. Wishing you the best!

Are the motors and the joystick waterproof or water resistant? I need to go over grass to get to my swimming pool which is about 30 yards from the house with a slight incline, is there any problem with inclines for a 300 pound person and a rough grassy area?

Hello Phil, the Electra7 uses smart tech. It will draw from both batteries (when both are in and charged) or just one battery at a time.
Can the controller be hooked up to the handle for the caregiver to use?
Yes it can! The controller can attach to either the left or right side armrest OR on the headrest bar for a caregiver. It's a wonderful chair!

Hello Priyanka, Yes, the joystick can be attached to either side. From the factory, they are on the right side. It takes less than 5 minutes to move it to the left side.

I am looking for a wheelchair for myself. due to the fact I will possibly be losing my right lower leg. I am finding it hard to walk because I have charots. My issues with finding the right one for me is, the hand control and pricing (need to work with insurance). Most are on the right hand side, me personally, I need one on the left hand side, because I am left handed. The other issue, I have is that my home is open but small doorways and hallway, 3 steps to enter house (front and back). I really want my freedom back. I am no longer allowed to drive a car and I always have to ask someone to drive me here and there. I do attend college (yes, I am an unconventional student (over 50). I hate being stuck in my house (I live in the country setting kind of). This chair looks like it would work for me if some things could be modified and the price kept low (for insurance approval). Like having it be able to climb stairs while in electric mode and hand control was able to be switched from side to side. Any suggestions on a good brand or type of chair for me? I do not like some that are out right now because they are gawdy looking and so big. I like nice, neat and small looking ones.

Hello Shimon, chairs designed for going to the beach for driving on the sand have much larger tires that are wide. They remind me of big gray balloons. Many beach towns have a store that rents these types of chairs. They are good for the beach, but not other things. The Electra is great for other things, but not the beach.

Hello Miw, by auto-locked mode, I am guessing you mean power wheelchair mode to freewheel mode. The joystick must be off, and the toggle switches are located on the motors, behind the chair.
