"Oh, the months in japanese are easy! They are all literally: one month, two month, three month etc" **sees the days** "What in the name of fu-" In all seriousness, it's really not that difficult at all, just weird as all hell LOL
My exact thoughts, but after repeating few times you just need to be careful at 4, 14, 20, 24 with days, months are fairly easy cause there's just 12 numbers
i'm really excited every lesson you teach for us. I'm now practicing my nihongo speech every single day. thank you for sharing your knowledge. Philippines.
i’m currently studying japanese in uni and i struggled so hard to understand (and memorize) the days of the month, but this video was clearer than my own lectures 😩😩😩😩
Wow, I was literally looking at your channel yesterday looking for a video exactly like this. You're a mind reader lol. Arigatou Misa sensei I really struggle with this.
So cool to see that you birthday is on the same day as mine, love your channel and been learning a lot since I got here, thank you so much for your lessons.
Thanks so much!! I've finally understood it thanks to you. It wasn't so hard after all. At least it's not like when I studied Latin, where "ante diem VI(sextum) Kalendīs Octōbribus" is actually September 27th.
For anyone struggling with the days of the month I HIGHLY recommend a video called "Japanese Rap (days of the month)" by Origami Candy. My Japanese teacher taught us this way and I've never forgotten it! However I do have to sing the song to myself in my head to remember.
I understand that 1 month ~= 1 moon cycle, but I can't understand why Monday is even more Moony. - English: Monday (Moonday) - Japanese: Getsuyoubi (月曜日) 月 = Moon, 曜日 = Weekday - Spanish: Lunes, which comes from the Latin "Lūna" for "Moon".
It is so cool how there is a way of saying numbers of two digits just by using one hand for units and the other hand for tens... as usual, Japanese culture is blowing my mind.
Love your videos Misa, even tho they are not really at my level anymore... good to refresh some minor details tho :) My only problem with your videos is that I think it doesnt have a structure that makes progress. For example now that you have so many videos it would make sense to use more complex grammar and expressions, words etc. Because if you assume that the people watched every video until now, the easier videos might sound boring for them unfortunately. Once again, I love these videos, but I dont find them as useful anymore, which makes me sad, because you are a great teacher. Make some advanced grammar videos too please, I bet most of us would appreciate it :) (for example the song lyrics videos are perfect for discussing grammar and new words) Keep up the amazing work.
Hello, i wanted to ask if i coukd request a video. My favorite band from japan is finally coming to the U.S but i know very little japanese could you possibly nake a video about music such as "i really like your music" or "my favorite song is" beginner stuff like that? Either way you're an awesome teacher! Keep doing you!
Thanks for the great lessons on Japanese Misa Sensei. Is there anywhere we can download the notes on each of your lessons so it will be a little easier to follow as we watch the videos?
ありがとう!誕生日は6月5日ですよ(ろくがついつか)。そして、今日は5月1日です(ごがつついたち)。 みささんのビデオが好きです。私はインドからですよ。 Honestly the names seem daunting and random, but if you know the kun reading of the numbers, then it makes a lot more sense.
Hello sensei. Thanks for teaching the days of the month. How about the NUMBER OF DAYS? e.g. 14 days. Do we still use juuyokka? 19days. Juukunichi? Just keen to know whether the usage is the same as the date of the month. Thanks.
you read my mind , at 4 month i remembered shigetsu wa kimi no usu and you mention it, at 10th i remembered toka from toky ghoul and you mentioned it as well
On some other channel I learned that 2th is pronounced as "futsuka" and not "hutsuka". So which is the right one or are both of these variations possible?
ふ is actually pronounced neither as "fu" or "hu", it's sort of inbetween. Imagine making the "fu" sound, but without your teeth touching your lips. That's it! So you might see it transcribed as both, or it might sound more like "fu" or "hu" to non-native speakers since we aren't accustomed to distinguishing our "f" and theirs. Hope this helped!
Re: Patreon-only videos: I would love to support you on Patreon.... as soon as they allow alternate payment options for those of us living in Japan who don't (or can't) use plastic or FraudPal. Spotify, Amazon, Steam, and other mid to large sized companies offer payment options for cash economies. I don't know why Patreon is so limited, but the teasers are just frustrating.
So difficult with dates. I m wondering the reason why it is so complicated, probably it should be some historical explanation for this. Hope I can learn all dates いつか

How would you say a day and then the number. Like Friday the 13th for example. 金曜日13日?
Misa explaining months: "ok this is straightforward and understandable"
Misa explaining days: *surprised pikachu*

I will have to watch it again and again too... but for a completely different reason.
When she said it's "し"月 I was like " I know that because of your lie in April," and then she recommended it and I appreciated her amount of culture.
I love her explanation, her english is so good to hear, she's nice and funny, and she has some of these anime/cultural insights.
i'm really excited every lesson you teach for us. I'm now practicing my nihongo speech every single day. thank you for sharing your knowledge. Philippines.
Your hair looks amazing!
Now I understand why Japanese people associate number 4 with death. Probably because you actually could die trying to memorize all of its forms xddd
lmfao
Yei another Japanese lesson. Gracias por tu esfuerzo
Great memorization technique, thank you so much for this lesson!

Misa-sensei plz make lesson on counting...its so confusing to count different things since they have their own way of counting

Hey
Could you please make a lesson on how to use んです and んだ ? And the casual question particle の?
1:47 I actually learned something in English, too.
I understand that 1 month ~= 1 moon cycle, but I can't understand why Monday is even more Moony.
