Just a tip for those who are using multiple keyboard languages, don't forget to switch back to english to make your shortcuts work again. Very annoying and hope this will be fixed by Microsoft/Adobe. 🙃
Thank you, this was the answer. Why is keyboard management still so hard in 2022? If I choose US keyboard, Photoshop shortcuts don't work. If I choose Intl keyboard, Google docs shortcuts don't work.
Also, if you have Caps Lock on that will prevent you from changing your brush size with the bracket keys. It would be nice if Adobe added a search function to the prefs window.

I've also noticed that sometimes when I'm trying to view just one layer by holding down the option key, or link two layers it bumps me over to another open file instead. Really frustrating. Any ideas why this is suddenly happening after years of using these shortcuts?
Hi! I've tried all the troubleshooting steps you mentioned in the video. I still cannot get one of my Ps (2024) keyboard shortcuts to work (Win 11 Pro). Every other shortcut works except Inverse Selection (Ctrl+Shift+I). Of course, that's one I could use often. It's so odd! Any other ideas would be great. Thx!
My brush tools wont switch. B selects brush for a second then jumps back to the current tool. I think its s memory issue. Very lagy and buggy but its a new problem for me. Slows me down so much
where would i restore the key bind for merging all visible layers into a new layer, ctrl alt shift E, however restoring keybind to stock doesnt fix it, i used the keybind for something else by accident and i was unable to undo the change and have been stuck since.
I am using Canon Professional Print and Layout to print my photos. Comand,control,P is only for the default printing. I set a short cut for using the Canon printing and it works until I close down Photoshop. When I turn it back on, the shortcut is gone every time. Any ideas?
I swear I'm going insane. I have been using photoshop since 2013 and never ever had an issue with my Shortcuts. About a month ago when I reset my PC, I started having issues with it. I would press X for example to switch the foreground/background colour. Doesn't work. I have to manually click the button now. I have reinstalled the entire creative cloud twice, I have reinstalled photoshop approx. 5 times now. I went into the settings and tried using legacy key binds. Doesn't work. I tried manually setting the key binds. Changing foreground colour was still on x. I tried to assign a new key. It wouldn't "recognise" the key strokes of my keyboard. I tried removing every single language from my windows settings. Didn't work. I don't know why I keep pushing so much money into a corporate ass and then something as simple as pressing my fucking X key, or ctrl-T doesn't work. Does ANYONE know what else I could try? Im not stupid when it comes to tech. I know how to use things. I can do things. I feel literate using photoshop now that nothing fucking works.
@@yaradotexe So, after two days of non-stop looking and trying everything, what finally helped me was installing a new English language pack in windows. I used to have English (Europe), installing English (United States) fixed the issue for me. Hope it helps you and others who encounter this weird problem^^

There is a problem using Shift for proportional scaling in Windows Photoshop, is not working. In macBook works with Shift, in Windows Laptop doesen't work. Solution?
Anyone has idea why ALT does not work for color picking anymore? I don't know why. When I was painting with the brush, I was always picking up colours just by holding ALT - picked the color - and when I released ALT it went back to brush. Now, ALT absolutely doesn't work for anything in Photoshop. But my ALT button works normally when I play games for example. I even tired reinstalling my computer, upadting keyboard drivers but nothing worked. Does this have something to do with updating to Windows 11? It's frustrating...
I ended up changing my shortcuts and it works, my brackets stopped working to increase/decrease brush size so I swapped the controls for hardness and it works for me but my brackets no longer work. It's not my keyboard, either. My brackets work, just not in Photoshop.

Hum, I have always used "shift comma" to return brush to a soft round. Currently in Beta, it's making it the mixer brush although that is not set as a shortcut. I check my tool bar. Any ideas?
@@EditVideoFaster Hum, trouble is I didn't record that shortcut. I learned it at a training so I'm guessing it's a stock shortcut? Mixer brush is coded to be "b" shortcut so it's an oddity to me.
nup... didn't solve the problem I used to be able to make a selection then hit Shift F6 and it would live up the overlay dialogue box then hit enter and it would copy the data across ...and past the selection area over the area you want cloned out

Is it possible you’re hitting other keys, like V for the Move Tool, inadvertently which is causing it to leave the crop tool?

For what it’s worth, Copy/Paste (Ctrl+C/V) in Photoshop is awful. If you want to duplicate a layer, select it in the Layer stack and use Ctrl+J.

Hello, In Windows, I used CTRL+ Shift+ A, that would open up a new window where I can color grade the layer, but it's not working in Mac. Please Help

Alt, Ctrl, Space, Shift, these are frequently lost, restarting photoshop seems to only answer, very annoying.

fn G shortcut in adobe photoshop 7.0 is not grouping my layers, but instead popping up the paint bucket tool, what should I do?
Try Ctrl+G. That’s what Group Selected Layers is by default.
