Normally takes 6 quarts in the book, because mine has the same transmission. I just pour in what comes out. Usually 4-5 quarts have came out when I drained in filled
Great video. Non-serviceable filter in this transmission. Isn't it weird that the transmission pan mounts to the side of the transmission instead of the bottom of it?
Hi, good video , I have a 2008 acadia wed 240k miles i change the transmission oil every 15k miles I used to use Castro The last 2 times I changed with Valvoline and After my last transmission fluid change I have vibration a low rpm ! Do you think It's because of the fluid that I'm using? Thank you
I am not sure I can tell you it is the fluid or not with any degree of accuracy. This vehicle developed a torque converter shudder at low speeds at about 190k miles. When the engine dropped a valve at 194k miles and I had to replace the engine I replaced the torque converter and it has been fine ever since. There are a whole lot of videos on my channel with that project. It was early in my channel so the quality may not be the best. Thanks for watching!
I have been watching your series and they are great! We have a Buick Enclave with a transmission shudder and trying to decide if I should do the torque converter change myself. Looks to be a significant job. If I decide to do them I will definitely be reviewing your videos and looking for a lift. What kind of lift do you use?
I got the lift from Eagle Equipment in Greensboro NC, it is a mid rise scissor lift. Similar ones are available from other places, this was close enough I was able to pick it up and not pay shiiping.
Great video. I was trying to find if there was a filter or not. I see that there were some other comments asking the same. So it sounds like there's an internal gasket. Got it. Question: Is there any benefit to pulling of the vertical pan cover if there's no filter to change? Is there more fluid in that area that does not get drained through the plug on the bottom of the trans case?
I pulled the cover to look for obvious problems like metal shavings. I would not have done it otherwise. I am pretty sure the drain plug will get all or most of that area.
I wouldn't worry about "flushing" all the fluid out. When you drain, you remove about 6 quarts of fluid, top it off and drive 10-15 miles making sure to go through all the gears then repeat the drain and fill process. When you drain and fill twice you would have removed about 80% of the original fluid. Considering all other options; how painful or expensive, drain and fill twice is the most effective and easiest method. In the end even if you take your car to a shop with "full flushing system" it will cost you much more and it won't necessarily prolong the life of the transmission compared to drain and fill twice.
Mine leaks it seems to be leaking from that part so i was wonderying i i grt the gasket if it will stop, went to autozone they dont have it. Went to napa they have it its called automatic transaxle gasket, oil pan. Wanted to make sure if thats the correct one
I can’t subscribe or give you a thumb up because when you’re doing a video we need to see everything you do. How you dissemble and reassemble everything. You rush through it
Thank you so much, sir, I just changed mine I don't have anyone to hold the camera for me, I would have record mine too.
AWESOME APPRECIATE YOUR TIME SHOWING THIS...NOW I KNOW WHAT TO CHARGE MY CUSTOMERS
Can you list the tools that will be needed(you used) to do the work?
I will add what I think the tools were to the description. It was several years ago when I made this video.
Right on Jim. Love the 912 series.
Thanks. I didn't see anything else worth while on a 912 engine anywhere. I was learning as I went too.

It is the first I have ever seen like it. Unfortunateley I am digging into it further now, video soon.
Thanks for watching!
At 7:17 you can hear his frustration exit his ass lolol
I like the big fart u let after u put the gasket on

Seems like the airbox was the most difficult part...lol
Hi there , Acadia 2007 they don’t have transmission Fluid Filters ?
I did not see the Transmission Filter in your video , why is that ?
Thanks .
Apparently GM decided it did not need one that was serviceable. There is one inside somewhere that is lifetime.
@@bryansprojects3570 ...Thank you for your kind response .
They have a filter but to replace it the transmission has to come out a very expensive maintenance

Lubegard shudder fix-many great reviews
hey hey on 7:15 what was that noise? didnt sound like it came from the car buddy! great video!
Ha ha. Nice catch!
Does this transmission have a serviceable filter when replacing the pan gasket ?
There is no serviceable filter in this transmission. Apparently there is one buried inside somewhere that cannot be replaced.
Hi I have the same car, Do you know if I can replace the transmission filter thru the transmission oil pan?
From what I understand the filter is built into the transmission and is not replaceable.

@@tech29X Awesome. Thanks for the advice.
Sir where is location on neutral safety switch at??
Thank you
According to a quick Google search it is inside the transmission.
Could you post a link for the gasket, I am having a hard time finding one for it.

Great video. Did you ever figure out why it still leaked? I change mine and i have the same problem.
I never figured out why or where it leaked but it has finally stopped I think.
How much transmission oil should i put to Gmc acadia 2007?
I think I used about 6 quarts. Ours has a dipstick so I set it with that.
Hello Bryan, how long it took you to do this project?
Probably about 1.5 hours.
Would this be how you change the transmission filter too?
I believe the transmission filter in that one is one where you have to dissemble the transmission.
@@xdavie3 oh no...
Where u got the gasket
I got the gasket and fluid on Amazon.

No filter?¿?
The filter in this transmission is apparently not serviceable. It is built into the interior of the transmission somewhere.
Mickey Mouse no filter huh
Should have cleaned the area after putting it back together
he farted at the 7:17 mark
The pan comes off the front of the transmission AND NOT THE BOTTOM ??? WHAT IN THE WORLD .?..
Pretty crazy isn't it, and no serviceable filter.
