I use a 3-way switch (SG) as my arm/disarm switch, with throttle only working when in the middle (least likely to accidently hit). To configure, you have two lines in the special function screen - one for switch up and one for switch down. I also use the "play track" function to play "armed" in the middle, and thcut (throttle cut) on the up/down positions, so I wind up with 5 lines in the special functions screen to actually make the functionality work with verbal announcements, so I know I hit the right switch.

There are a multitude of ways to set a (semi) "foolproof" Throttle Cut Switch in OpenTX/EdgeTX. Most of them better than the 1 shown here. Always best to have it Auto-engaged at Tx switch-on. Also using the NOT (!) switch selection would cut the complexity of yours a bit. 😉😊

I'm coming from spektrum (ix20se and nx10se) to the 'mack daddy' Radiomaster tx with the aluminum gimbals.
MY question is, on spektrum, channels are T A E R. Throttle ch1. On the tx16, do I change the channel assignment on the tx, on the rx, OR leave it be?

I like to set the cutoff as the normal position so the default is throttle cut. I also set audio to play for either position. When I turn on my transmitter or select a model, the radio chimes in with "throttle inactive ".

Yeah... That's the way I do it for any Switch controls... Default is always Failsafe.

Mine is on those 5 buttons on top. What's also nice is every time you turn it on it's already in throttle cut so don't have to worry if it's off

I managed to set my throttle cut ,im using a gas engine..problem is for me so far, my throttle cut works to cut ignition power..but at the same time my throttle servo accelerates the engine, so now i have to figure out how to make the servo decelerate my engine, if for some reason my ignition kill doesn't function i would have a runaway engine..easy for electric power..but more info needed for all else

It does. 2 friends I fly with, favorites are umx ultrix. BOTH have safe/as3x on their tx16

Also have mine setup so it can't be rearmed until throttle is returned to minimum.
