This is actually a concept I’ve been wanting to see a Hermit do for a while now. And I think Bdubs would be the perfect candidate for it.

the thing Bdubs described as branches at a smaller angle being weak is true! in arboriculture we call the place where a branch emerges a branch union or branch attachment, and when the angle is high, the bark ends up growing into the vascular system and rubbing when the tree blows in the wind, it can restrict the flow of nutrients and create a point of entry for fungus or other diseases, that bark is called included bark. good job studying trees Bdubs!!
i actually think that you should LEAF the tree, how it is tbh. i think it looks really cool together with your house and also trees with leafs are done so much, so this would be a nice change
Bdubs, man, love your style on this one, it really feels like you displaying how much you treasure these friends. This vibe says "The good times are now and we are experiencing it together."
Sneeze transitions are great and all but these nostalgic cinematic transitions have me obsessed 😍. Also, as a person with old oak trees in my yard I recommend some fallen branches on the ground for some realism.

Bdubs this video is a masterpiece. Please paint the server full of your creations. Cant wait to see what you do with that tree, maybe you change the leafs from time to time, simulating seasonal changes
I have to say the way you are editing and treating the episodes like a movie is amazing. Best editing this season by far. It makes the episodes so more alive.😊
Ok but I love this build and all the moments of silence and peaceful music with hermits talking in the background are gold and don’t forget the shader pack 🫶
What a gorgeous tree!!! It reminds me of the puriri trees near where I grew up in NZ - there was a group of about 3 or 4 huge old ones looming out over the top of the fern forest, with silvery bark and deep green leaves, and in the summer they'd be covered in bright red berries (and huge fat native pigeons eating them!). We used to picnic under them sometimes because the ground all around the roots was soft and covered in dense moss. I love how your builds can evoke so much, each one tells a story and the episodes this season have been such a delight to watch
Bdubs I’m no redstone expert like yourself but it would be super cool if you could have a clock tower that rings a bell when the sun is about to set- maybe you could take a comparator output from a clock? Or maybe you would need to build a clock
@@JacksonOwex you dont need tho, if nobody is going to hear it. Daylight sensor would work regardless if you enter those chunks before its evening. Redstone clock will stop working right when the chunk is unloaded, and will start again where it stopped, after you load the chunks again. So if you're away from the chunk half a day, the clock is half a day late.
If you’re really interested in different types of trees: I’d recommend a podcast: Completely Arbortrary! Regular guy talks about trees with an Aeborist. Every episode is a different species of tree! For if you want something while building :)
Bdubs! Truly love and enjoy your cinematic edits. It has a very different classic 70-80s feel which is fabulous. If there were an Academy Award for best Minecraft editing you surely deserve one. More power to you and bless you and your family ❤🧡💛💚💙🤎💜
That's not entirely true anymore though! Skulk Sensors can be used to make wireless redstone, so opening the chest would activate the sensor which could activate TNT or other trap!
Bdubs, you’ve gradually become my comfort RUclipsr. If I come home from work stressed, all I have to do is watch one of your videos and I forget why I was stressed. Keep up the great work!
The whispering as Bdubs looked at the sunset what the HAY was that. Also, I adore how much love and attention Bdubs gives to his builds. That tree... You can tell the love he put into it. About trees being grey, I actually realized it when I was little. I was walking back from primary school when I saw the trees around me and thought "but they're grey... Why do we paint them brown?" but chalked it up to the tree type that I see vs the trees from the northern hemisphere. And yes, some trees are browner, but always wondered why we write them off as brown when most weren't oh- oh it just hit me. We think of them as brown because the inside is brown. So we think logically the bark should be brown too, but nope. Anyway, rooting for you Bdubs! Really hope you win! Although False's technique of not logging in may help her in that aspect. Still. You can do it!
So it's not that weak forty five degree branches will just die and drop off, they just have a weaker connection to the trunk and so in storms or whatever they're more likely to break off and rip a giant wound for feet below the connection point. Those giant wounds are the real problem as they take a long long time to seal over such large areas and invite rot into the trunk. So usually arborists remove them with a smaller cleaner cut to prevent that. But a strong branch collar (ridge at connection point) makes it so it'll break off above that for sure. Another thing to look for to prevent those giant wounds: if a branch has a diameter a third as thick as the trunk or more, so the trunk isn't obviously bigger, I forget what that's called but it can lead to a great big splitting injury as well, usually even worse. That kind of branch is often found lower on the trunk and may be supporting half the branches. It can be bad
Love the tree! It reminds me of some of the spruce and fir trees where I live (which can grow to well over 100 feet). May I suggest you use a mix of spruce and birch leaves sparingly, and that you put a mixture of glow lichen and hanging roots to give it the needled leaves appearance. If you want, you could replace some of the blocks near the top with jungle logs and stick cocoa pods on it to look like pine cones! Finally, if you replace the grass and dirt beneath it with podzol and plant nether sprouts sporadically atop that, it will look like the tree has shed needles littering the ground beneath it. Of course, you have your own plan, I'm sure, but I figured I should mention this anyway. 🐍 Also, that is a great alarm system, Bdubs! Taking advantage of chunk loading as an alert system is brilliant!
I believe that he's going for a more oak appearance (as the branches are arranged so far), but I agree with your choices of blocks. I believe that glow lichen would look best on the lower tree itself (like actual lichen), and possibly hanging roots to simulate dead twigs. Good ideas though!

the thing Bdubs described as branches at a smaller angle being weak is true! in arboriculture we call the place where a branch emerges a branch union or branch attachment, and when the angle is high, the bark ends up growing into the vascular system and rubbing when the tree blows in the wind, it can restrict the flow of nutrients and create a point of entry for fungus or other diseases, that bark is called included bark. good job studying trees Bdubs!!
Dude your camera work and music timing/selection is just next level.
i actually think that you should LEAF the tree, how it is tbh. i think it looks really cool together with your house and also trees with leafs are done so much, so this would be a nice change
"I can see them coming from a mile away!" Donkey sneaks up behind him. HAHA!
Not “the grass that makes you explode” 😂😂😂
24:05 it's gorgeous, how the clouds make out a tree crown of their own
the tree looks beautyful! good job bdubs!
BDUBS POSTED THE DAY LOOKS BRIGHTER!!!!!!!!!
REAL!!!
I love the editing...such a great feat of storytelling
Bdubs, man, love your style on this one, it really feels like you displaying how much you treasure these friends. This vibe says "The good times are now and we are experiencing it together."
bDubs makes ma want to hug him i just started watching him and he may verry well become my favorit hermit
Gotta love Etho wanting to hang out with his Bdubs
I love the clouds in whatever pack it is you're using. They looks so good!
Sneeze transitions are great and all but these nostalgic cinematic transitions have me obsessed 😍. Also, as a person with old oak trees in my yard I recommend some fallen branches on the ground for some realism.
27:10 that shot of the tree with the sunset i was AWESTRUCK!!! i have been loving the way you're using the minecraft camera it makes for a stunning video
That was the best Raycon ad I have ever seen.
It was great! I kept thinking it was so nice of his wife to pretend to not to hear him in the background, then she says "you know I can hear you right" lol
using levers to connect some of the fences to the tree would give it a more organic shape
The editing.....literally watching art.
Someone should trap the blocks NEXT to pressure plates. That way digging them out to check under the plate would cause an explosion
Don’t give any ideas lol
didn't doc do that to iskall by a beach sometime?
Bdubs this video is a masterpiece. Please paint the server full of your creations. Cant wait to see what you do with that tree, maybe you change the leafs from time to time, simulating seasonal changes
Always a good day when Bdubs uploads! This tree is magnificent by the way!
I have to say the way you are editing and treating the episodes like a movie is amazing. Best editing this season by far. It makes the episodes so more alive.😊
Ok but I love this build and all the moments of silence and peaceful music with hermits talking in the background are gold and don’t forget the shader pack 🫶
I don't know what it was about this episode - the music or the scenery or the interactions - but I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it
What a gorgeous tree!!!
Sunlight sensor would do that thing. Clock in minecraft is janky, because of unloaded chunks.
@@Urakoitsija Daylight sensor wouldn't do any better in unloaded chunks though?!
Really enjoyed the ad, BDubs! Cool animations, intriguing sales pitch, and …
“You know I can hear you, right?”
ICONIC ✨
If you’re really interested in different types of trees: I’d recommend a podcast: Completely Arbortrary! Regular guy talks about trees with an Aeborist. Every episode is a different species of tree! For if you want something while building :)
The cinematic shots of the tree with the sun setting behind it are gorgeous! And the tiny- erm, I mean TALL Bdubs on top building the branches ^^
Bdubs! Truly love and enjoy your cinematic edits. It has a very different classic 70-80s feel which is fabulous. If there were an Academy Award for best Minecraft editing you surely deserve one. More power to you and bless you and your family ❤🧡💛💚💙🤎💜
That is actually the most beautiful tree I have ever seen in Minecraft even with no leaves! Gorgeous
a good way to protect against trapped chest/others is to make them float so no redstone can be around your stuff.
That's not entirely true anymore though! Skulk Sensors can be used to make wireless redstone, so opening the chest would activate the sensor which could activate TNT or other trap!
the tree is fantastic, it almost reminds me of one I had seen when I worked on the road in a "fancy" area
I hope every episode would be "a blank to remember"
Using the trees as an alarm system to know when people have been around your base is the best strategic thing I have ever heard!
The tree itself without any leaves looks gorgeous
I looove that tree! 🥰 beautifully done!
It's not paranoia when they're really out to get you. Awesome tree, Bdubs!
Also, that is a great alarm system, Bdubs!
