  • This video will demonstrate the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) in the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. AVAS is a safety feature that emits a sound when the vehicle is moving at low speeds, to alert pedestrians and cyclists of the vehicle's presence.
Sometimes called a hybrid noise or EV sound, it comes from a speaker outside the car under the driver's side. without the speaker the car would be completely silent.
Manufacturers are required by law to put speakers outside the car.
This video will show the sound changes as the vehicle goes into drive, reverse, back to drive, and park.
You can't turn the noise off unless you put the vehicle in park. You can hear it in the vehicle, especially with the windows down.
Hopefully one day Honda will add a software update to allow people to change the sound, reduce the volume, or turn it off entirely. 🤞

The noise eventually gives you a headache, you can hear it while driving.
