“Ladies and gentleman, look at that!!! You can’t see that, I’m on radio…” 😂
“The fans are shouting kill, kill, kill….. this is hockey!”
Decades later, someone at work the other day made a Hanson Brothers reference. Us two old heads were surrounded by a few millennials and Gen Zers who had no clue because their parents didn't raise them right, but we had a little giggle between us two.
As a youngin who’s seen it I recommend it to all of my friends
I mean, you’re parents clearly didn’t raise you well neither, considering you lot fucked up the world for us. So, thanks, I guess.
@@zanecaughran6638 same here. I make quotes from it and old Dirty Harry movies all of the time.
I've had the same thing....LOL
One of my best childhood friends has an actual autographed picture down the basement in the family room of his parents house that says "to kyle, always remember to not forget the foil" lol.
I always crack up at the way the Hansons greet the cops when they open the door, "HI GUYS! 😃"
I know, right?!
😅😅😅😅😅😅
THE HANSONS!!!
@@GranTruismo4head 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is the ultimate classic hockey movie for ice hockey fans of all eras.
And even non hockey fans!
So much plot and exposition in 5 minutes. Brilliant writing. Florida, Francine, the unhappy marriage, the Hansons, pervy Mo, Ogilthorpe, Eddie Shore, Newman’s PR and spin. It’s all there.
Don't forget the most important thing. Peterborough lost so the Chiefs are in the playoffs.
End of the 1st act.
Trenchant sociological commentary! "Well, most folk heroes started off as criminals!"
Spoon! 😁
Is the answer Jesus was my favorite line.
The reach for the handshake with “thanks a lot sarge” at 4:58 always gets me 😂
This is a classic movie but the translated version in Québec french makes this movie absolutely epic.
No, Jeff no, it's the other guy😂😂
Strother Martin. God, I love that guy. He was the best
He was also excellent in Hard Times, guy could act for sure.
We will not have a goddam family brawl!!
It aint a Paul Newman movie without him!
“What we have here is……a failure to communicate!”
He was in True Grit and Rooster Cogburn movies:
“Shanghai McCoy's my name. Been around the Horn, sailed the seven seas, seen everything, done everything, that's how I know people are rotten. I've seen 'em all.”
"I'm truly impressed by the captivating storyline and brilliant cinematography of this film."
RIP Paul Newman
One of the greatest movies ever made.
Call the pizza man!
Love it!
And the guy in the background "save me a slice of pizza" classic!
the dirty bastard says " call the massage parlor. "
@@igottheneed2 funniest ever pizza reference in pro sports is the infamous pizza toss in the stands at fenway park. search on youtube : " jerry remy pizza toss. " watch the whole video -- it gets funnier as it goes along.
"We can call the pizza man", 3:26. Had to call this out. Puts me on the floor.
Absolute legends of the slap shot! Can't get enough of the Hanson Brothers finesse on the ice !
Slap Shot" is a classic sports comedy film released in 1977,
A movie full of excitement and enthusiasm, especially if you love hockey
It has entertainment for the whole family.
But did you know it’s somewhat biographical, based on the Carlson brothers who played in Johnstown PA?
Old time hockey!!!!!!!!
the peanut vendour is standing up to them bwahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
" Call a massage parlor. " 😅
Ah, the delightfully sleazy Mo Wanchuk!🤪
My favorite part of the whole movie
He seems normal to me!!!
Honestly, a wonderful movie that you and your family can watch
Honestly.a wonderful movie that you and your family can match
A movie worth a million likes ❤❤❤
“Why don’t you call a massage parlor” gets me every time
😛😛😛
Gotta love the Sparkle Twins.
Loved this. Like the Bruins in the NY stands in 1979, i am so glad I grew up with this.
Terry O'Reilly
@@TheFutbol22 they didn't call him " Taz " for nothing. i skated with him alone on a rink one morning before he jumped from the AHL to the NHL. just the two of us, and i can tell you i thought to myself, " if this guy just played an AHL season, i'm gonna be a pro, too. " he sucked, but no one worked to improve like him. BTW, no pro hockey for me. don't forget mike milbury beating a guilty rangers fan over the head with his own shoe in the stands. that was surreal and i still can't stop laughing when i recall that.
lol went from car keys, to tyre chain, to monkey wrench :)
Strother Martin makes every role he takes shine.
A movie that tells a great story ❤ love it
Honestly,a wonderful movie that you and your family can watch 🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
Especially when Newman meets the owner! Such great mutual support between those clean and earnest characters.
“The fans are standing up to them, the security guards are standing up to them, the PEANUT VENDORS are standing up to them!”
I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH ❤❤
An interesting and enjoyable film that reminds the viewer of the fun of university days and sports competitions...the heroes of the film were creative and had fun...a beautiful watch
A movie full of energy and good memories really nice movie I watched many times and I’m not getting bored of it
A movie full of incredible scenes that I really enjoyed watching...
This Movie is worth to watch 😂
Most folk heroes started out as criminals.
This movie is good to watch with the family in this winter
"He's a folk hero!"
"A criminal!"
"Well, most folk heroes started out as criminals."
A lot of folk heroes started out as criminals
What an interesting, combative and enthusiastic match that I watch with enthusiasm 👻👻👻⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Every single actor in this is amazing and perfect
my brother played in a semi pro league in the midwest back in the early 70s. it was the last league listed on the last page of the hockey news. cincinnati, dayton, lima, and a few other beat up, down and out cities. this league made slap shot look civilized and genteel. the one game i saw my brother play, he ran out of sticks, breaking them all over the arms, backs, and knees of the opponents, and my brother was the cleanest player on his team. this game was like an all out brawl in an alley with no rules and sticks for weapons. kar --rrrack !!!
What was the team called in Lima, do you remember?
@@RIUUI007 i don't recall off hand right now. this was 52 years ago and i was only around 13 or 14. but, i'll ask my brother what he remembers about lima and get back to you.
Cyclones and Komets!!!
@@chickengenius4202 ha ha ! you are thinking of the echl, which actually has a few talented guys pass through. my brother's league was about 10 levels below the echl. no fans, no real income to speak of, no talent, no futures in hockey. this was a dead end league filled with pissed off players going nowhere. no kidding, it was so violent that it made slap shot look acceptable. my brother was a division III college player with no real experience at all before he hit college, and he was a better rounded player than most of this league. it was a rolling mayhem felony on ice.🤐🤐
Every hockey loving Canadian knows every line in this movie.
who would have thought those innocent little brothers who made 'omm bop' would become such a destructive force in the hockey scene!?
It is a wonderful, beautiful and motivating film that is worth watching❤️❤️❤️
A beautiful film full of energy worth watching, i watched it several times
One of the greatest movies had the opportunity to
watch Really amazing
I believe this was filmed in my hometown arena in Utica! Home of the Utica comets in the AHL currently
I was Born in Rome and when my Dad was in the Military we saw the Utica Devils! Slap Shot is my favorite Hockey Movie and My Favorite Hockey Team is the Boston Bruins!
انه فيلم رياضي ممتع يستحق المشاهدة
Hahaha...Paul Newman is one of the few actors I like!
The best film in the world 👏👏👏👏
My dad grew up in Quebec. He lived and breathed hockey. I was just a kid when Slapshot came out and my dad took my brother and I when he went to see it. There is a scene with Newmans wife where she is topless. It was the first time I ever saw a naked boobie. I still remember it to this day. The only art of the movie I remember, except "They brought their fookin toys!", and my dad laughing hysterically at all the jokes I didn't get.
I'm impressed by the storyline of this film
الحمد لله على نعمه الفيلم خيالي رائع
Merci beaucoup Universal pour cette magnifique vidéo
I love this movie so much ❤
2 incidents like this in the NHL come to mind. The first was in 1972 when members of the Blues went into the stands in Philly. Several members of the Blues were arrested but charges were dropped. The 2nd was in 1979 when the Bruins went into the stands to fight fans in NY. Mike Milbury beat a guy with his own shoe. Oh, and I've seen this movie a million times and never noticed that the announcer was the dad from Sixteen Candles.
فلم رائع يحتوي على رياضية عالية
Slap Shot, The Mighty Ducks and Miracle are my all-time favorite hockey movies 🏒.
You gotta watch Youngblood.
3 best hockey movies ever. Excellent choices
There's a couple different scenes in the Mighty ducks movies where they pay homage to snapshot.
Didn't this movie actually happen before the incident in the Don Cherry Bruins era at Madison Square Gardens where Mike Milbury and a bunch of the team hopped over the glass and fought the fans? I looked it up and it took place December 23rd, 1979 and this movie was 1977.
The cops: "Hey Hanson brothers, you're all under arrest!"
Hanson bros.: "Hey guys, how ya doin? Good to see ya!"
I saw this movie in the theater. I loved it.
Best sports movie ever as a player and fan,I wear a #16 chiefs jersey when I play shinny, alot of fans don't realize the movie was written by a women and her brother was in the film❤😅 Paul Newman was one of the best EVER!
Un film qui raconte une grande histoire .c'est incroyable
A beautiful movie worth watching. Thanks to the director ❤❤
Boston Bruins vs. NYR in Madison Sq. Garden two years after this movie.... A foreshadowing? Or a bunch of Bad Boy Bruins wanting to redo that famous scene?
Now thats rhe type of movie, we wanna watch. An aspiring, emotional story of courage, sacrifice, and determination. A movie with heart. Not woke, alphabet crap. Drivvle, with no real plot. The trailer for arthur the king, i watched to see this clip
The Long Island Ducks were not only a real team back then, I was in Pee Wee hockey and would go see them, and saw this movie in hockey camp, but there story is the story of The Mighty Ducks
Best hockey movie I've ever seen.
A wonderful and exciting sports movie
Worth seeing 😉
🛑🛑 Nothing like my own hometown Johnstown Chiefs. 💯
I remember watching this being filmed in Johnstown, PA as a kid. 😆👍
Funny how fans are so tough and talk smack so long as there’s a pane of glass or fence between them and the players. 🙄
فلم جميل يستحق المشاهدة ❤️
فيلم جميل جدا يجعلت تحن للذكريات والانسطةالتي كنت تعيشها مع الاصدقاء حقا فيلم ممتع يستحق المشاهدة
Mike millbury and Middleton, Boston bruins, climbed into the stand when someone threw keys i believe at mike.
Guy takes his shoe off to hit mike who takes it and beats him with it
😅
