Shinko 777 are the best tires I've run on my bike. I ride a Yamaha Royal Star tour deluxe, and I try to get in at least three long-distance trips during the summer/early fall months. I get about 10,000 miles out of them and I don't baby them. I was also a motor officer and teach people slow speed skills. The tire takes all that use like a champ. It's why I am on my fourth set of them on that bike. I'm going to buy a dresser soon and I may try the Shinko 999 tires which they advertise as even more long distance miles. Previously I ran Avons, Michelin, and Dunlops. Dunlop 404s are hot garbage!!! They don't last.
I have a FLHTC with my 3rd set 777 they are the best handling tires i ever had fantastic in rain much better dry grip much smoother only last 10,000 but what's more important Miles or safety keep yur 20,000 mile tires i'll keep buying the Shinkos
i have been running 130/90/16 on front of my 02 FLHT and the last one i took off at32k because we were going to 4 corners still had a lot of tread left never seen another like it most last 26-29k no bull rears last 9k maybe
@pocketPliers didn't get alot of riding in before I put my bike away for winter but they seem pretty good so far..The only problem I had was they were extremely slippery until they got scrubbed in a little..Once that top layer of rubber came off they seem to be preforming pretty well though..Time will tell what kind of milage I get out of them though.
What tire pressure are you running? I ran those tires on my '04 Softail Deuce and ran at 38 psi and never cupped like that. Had them on for 12k before i sold the bike and they were all over the west coast of USA. I would try different tire pressures on your new set, great tires though. Thinking about the 999 for my 03 WideGlide.
I actually contacted shinko directly on this subject. They want you to run the sidewall psi rating with a 5 psi variable for comfort. So I run about 37 psi when the tires wants 42 psi.
I just started on a set this spring. So far they're doing great on 96 Softail Custom. My 03 Heritage is in the shop getting 777 installed as I type. I thot Id try them. So far lm pleased w them. The Long Hauls kinda have a sport bike feel to them. Cornering is smooth and confidence inspiring. Good tires.
It really wasn't. Shinko recommends the tires be set at the sidewall rating with no more than 5psi lower for rider comfort. It's rated 42psi and I ran it at 38psi. I check it very often because I genuinely want the tire to last as long as possible.
The factory Dunlops on my 2020 FXST needed to be replaced at 8k, I pushed them to 10,200 and they're pretty well bald. They're also a hell of a lot more expensive than Shinko 777's, so I made the right choice and ordered some Shinkos. Also wanna say that the stock tires on my back rode like shit and had horrible traction. Seems like they just slapped the cheapest made tires they could on there; and that ain't no shade on Dunlop, because Dunlop makes some great tires. I run them on my car; but Harley contracted Dunlop to make those specific tires for the factory bikes, and they are real shitty. Edit: I suspect I should get at least 13k out of the Shinkos seeing as I only ride solo.
I think the 777 and the tourmasters are great tires. Shinko recommends running max psi with no more than 5psi less for rider comfort. I personally run mine at 37 psi because I know they will increase pressure with heat, but no more than about 3-4psi. Also, keeping proper pressure will increase the life of the tire also.
10,000 miles is way more than a bias ply normally runs. A radial can and should do that and more. Honestly, 10K miles is more than I should have put on this tire.
Im baffled that you think 10000 miles on a rear tire is good....if i dont get 20 thousand milkes of hard highway riding on a heavy Harley roadglide, Im switching brands...
For a shaft driven bike, it did what was expected, and it did start to get squirrely from the feathering towards the end of me using it, but not 6k miles ago. More like the last 1600-2k miles.

@bigal9052 By "smoother" you refer to easy rolling into curves or beeing smooth on the bumps of the road?
Man for the price and getting 10k out of it, looks pretty good man. Check out the new 999s, ive got them on my RG ltd. Giving them a go.
300$ for 10k miles, I'll jump on that
Only got about 8000 miles out of a dunlop elite. Not happy with it .putting a shinko 777 on this weekend
I have had nothing but good experiences with Shinko 777HD on 04 Fatty 10k 11k. Thinking about trying the Shinko SR 999 HD Long haul
I don't know much about that series of shinko. Let us know if they are good!
If you get them. Put a video up. I’m looking at the 999 tires too.

Do ypu think these tires would be ok on a big bagger?
You can look up the load rating for your specific size, but they hold my 750lbs plus bike just fine.
@pocketPliers I looked them up and according to the weight rating their heavier then the stock tires..I decided to go with the 999s instead..
How has the 999 performed for you so far?
@pocketPliers didn't get alot of riding in before I put my bike away for winter but they seem pretty good so far..The only problem I had was they were extremely slippery until they got scrubbed in a little..Once that top layer of rubber came off they seem to be preforming pretty well though..Time will tell what kind of milage I get out of them though.
looks about right for 10K

Im trying these on a build im doing. It wont hit the pavement until spring, but we'll see after that.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. I feel like they are a great tire for the money.
i like
Has anyone put the new Shinko 999 Long Haul tires?
I don't know anything about that model tire. It must be a newer one that I'm going to have to read up on.
Running them on my RG now, I'll give a report in a year or so. Same tread pattern and profile as the 777s but should wear longer.

Looks like it might of been a little under inflated. Just saying

Shaft drive vs belt drive. Shaft drive is WAY harder on a tire than any other drive you can have.
Are you crazy...lol. cups that size have been there 6k miles ago. And look at the wear pattern. Garbage..

Stop sniffing good lord can’t even watch the video because of it
Don't be hateful. 👃
