    Great video to say the least. I have been in contact w/Kyle numerous times over the past 30-40 days to do a bow build. With bow build, making arrows then doing a sight tape it looks like it should be a two day initial....."adventure". Would that be correct time assessment? thanks

    IMO, and watching shooters for years the command shot is for very very few people. For most it leads to drive by hammering the trigger. Few will shoot enough to be able to hold even reasonably well on the target. Kyle is one of the few accomplished archers that has the mindset to do this repeatabley. This guy here isn’t even set up right. DL is too long, stance is usually wrong, and he IS punching that thumb button. With his DL too long it will be nearly impossible to get him to use the release correctly as he’s maxed out in draw. This severely inhibits his ability to pull thru the shot will back muscles. I’m thinking he doesn’t realize how much better he could shoot with a different set up.

    • @MuleyFreak

      We know we aren't perfect at archery shooting but we work hard to get better. Say what you want about draw length and how we shoot but with this bow setup Erik harvested a nice bull elk last year and with his new V3X harvested a coues deer this year. But either way it's all opinions I guess, thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback Tim!

      I totally agree with what you said about the draw length. It contributes to a major factor in accuracy. That being said.. Kyle is a Master of his Art, and the Gentleman shooting the Bow is well on his way, and learning as he goes, Kudos to him for loving the art of Archery and looking to improve every step of the way as most of us do!

    Good video. From my years in tournament archery the inconsistency isn't coming from your grip. That looks solid. Command shooting can be done but obviously not recommended. But your draw length is easily 1" too long if not 1.5" Proper draw length is EVERYTHING when it comes to consistency. It shows up more so when you stretch the yardage.

    • @MuleyFreak
      @MuleyFreak  2 года назад

      What's the inconsistency stem from in your experience?

    • @tdj2886
      @tdj2886 2 года назад +1

      @@MuleyFreak outside of not having a surprise release? Your draw length is extremely too long. If you can repeat it every time then ok.... But having a draw length that is minimum of an inch too long can make it almost impossible to repeat consistently.

    • @aldoraine9259
      @aldoraine9259 2 года назад

      @@tdj2886 what about the face press? I would think that too much string interference is not good for accuracy, much like too much handle grip.

  • @tbaylo4034
    @tbaylo4034 3 года назад +1

    I would suggest flattening your release hand instead of gripping the release in a fist. You want the knuckles of your hand to be in line with the first distal knuckles (or joint) of your fingers with the neck of the release poking through the middle bones of your fingers, if that makes sense.
