Kyle is awesome and such a great teacher.
Kyle is the definition of humble. Great video
No doubt! He's a great, individual and a wealth of knowledge.
@@MuleyFreak My bow is with him right now getting new strings and rest. Getting a new sight this evening. Starting fresh. Never have I met someone who puts the effort into setting up a bow like he does.
He does a pretty darn good job. Glad you're using Kyle.
Great video to say the least. I have been in contact w/Kyle numerous times over the past 30-40 days to do a bow build. With bow build, making arrows then doing a sight tape it looks like it should be a two day initial....."adventure". Would that be correct time assessment? thanks
Kyle is a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for watching, man!
try nail polish clear coat harder.
Thanks for the tip.
Name of the website for the aight tapes?
IMO, and watching shooters for years the command shot is for very very few people. For most it leads to drive by hammering the trigger. Few will shoot enough to be able to hold even reasonably well on the target. Kyle is one of the few accomplished archers that has the mindset to do this repeatabley. This guy here isn’t even set up right. DL is too long, stance is usually wrong, and he IS punching that thumb button. With his DL too long it will be nearly impossible to get him to use the release correctly as he’s maxed out in draw. This severely inhibits his ability to pull thru the shot will back muscles. I’m thinking he doesn’t realize how much better he could shoot with a different set up.
We know we aren't perfect at archery shooting but we work hard to get better. Say what you want about draw length and how we shoot but with this bow setup Erik harvested a nice bull elk last year and with his new V3X harvested a coues deer this year. But either way it's all opinions I guess, thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback Tim!
I totally agree with what you said about the draw length. It contributes to a major factor in accuracy. That being said.. Kyle is a Master of his Art, and the Gentleman shooting the Bow is well on his way, and learning as he goes, Kudos to him for loving the art of Archery and looking to improve every step of the way as most of us do!
What brand and model of sight are you shooting? This was a great tutorial on setting up the sight.
This is the HHA Tetra 4 pin slider.
I am jealous!!!!!!! I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kyle in London, Ky at the 2020 ASA event. Kyle is an AWESOME Dude! He is very intelligent, funny and fun to hang out with! I look forward to hanging out with him again soon!!!!!!!
I’ll be at all the ASA’s this year. Stop by and say hi at the Gold Tip trailer!
@@kyledouglas5382 I am trying to get PJ to set up a practice round in London, Ky. PJ and You against Tim and Me. Sims course for fun!!! PJ can record it for his YT channel... Let's do it!!
@@BoomtownOutdoors Count me in!
If you have left and rights, it might be due to you face/vane contact. On a lot of your close ups it looks like your fletching is touching your face/beard. Like the videos!
I agree. Less string pressure less movement right to left. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching, Matt. Don't forget to subscribe!
Lol "I think I'm more comfortable with command."
LOL. Yup!
Famous last words
Wow, those mountains in the background!!! Incredible scenery!
The mountains did look awesome that day, even though it was freezing outside!
Wow, that’s a beautiful facility. I wish there was a range like that around here.
We're truly blessed to have a range like Weber Country Archery Park so close to home!
Good video. From my years in tournament archery the inconsistency isn't coming from your grip. That looks solid. Command shooting can be done but obviously not recommended. But your draw length is easily 1" too long if not 1.5" Proper draw length is EVERYTHING when it comes to consistency. It shows up more so when you stretch the yardage.
What's the inconsistency stem from in your experience?
@@MuleyFreak outside of not having a surprise release? Your draw length is extremely too long. If you can repeat it every time then ok.... But having a draw length that is minimum of an inch too long can make it almost impossible to repeat consistently.
@@tdj2886 what about the face press? I would think that too much string interference is not good for accuracy, much like too much handle grip.
Another great video full of golden bits of knowledge👌🏼
He's a good guy.
You're catching the bow "griping" cause you didn't have a wrist strap on. I'd bet that's where your right and left is coming from down range, Great series.
I think you are correct. We're going to be working on that for the next video - hand torque.
@@MuleyFreak have to say this is one of the most informative bow tunes I've seen on youtune. I've watched a lot of them as I have acquired collection of different bows over the years. Your bow tune video is top notch. great job.
@@pokerman9108 thanks, man! 🙏

Very informative - great video!
Glad it was helpful!
Do they help any customer with all that stuff? Been wanting to redo my bow and fine tune it better. And looking to switch to Easton fmjs instead of the gold tips I shoot now
Fmjs are wayyy to heavy
@@bradleylarson2986 I shoot 75lbs
@@austin_olsen well then yeah shoot an fmj
Check out the vap tko. They are more expensive than fmjs but they are pretty sweet
@@bradleylarson2986 I’ll check them out for sure
Which sight is this?
HHA Sports 4 PIN TETRA.
I would suggest flattening your release hand instead of gripping the release in a fist. You want the knuckles of your hand to be in line with the first distal knuckles (or joint) of your fingers with the neck of the release poking through the middle bones of your fingers, if that makes sense.
Thanks for the tip, man!
Yup. Every Bow shop needs a Kyle. Great video. Bow Nerds are the Best kind of Nerd. I know because I am one 😁 Subscribed!
haha you guys are the best! Thanks for watching! 😉
Look into using clear nail polish to making it water proof. It will give you a much more level finish because it has time to settle.
We haven't heard that one before, we'll have to give it a try! Thanks for the info Carlos!
Hmmm a lot of bad tips mixed in here
Can you elaborate, Colby?
Rad video.
Thanks for watching, Ryan.
Yeah agree with the command
Me too!
I disagree with Kyle on the point he made focus on the target and pin will follow no way for me if I focus on the target my pin drops cause it tells my eyes brain keep crap outta the way of what I’m focusing on
Me I’m a command style shooter I focus on pin my brain and body knows where I need to hit
This is what works for me
That's what seems to work for Erik as well. We are all different.
@@MuleyFreak quite true
