Home Free is an acopella group. There was no instruments used, it's all vocals. Even the man playing the harmonica was vocal. They're so talented.
Yes that was so cool I could not believe they were making some of those sounds with just their mouth
@@RobSquadReactions you should react to their cover of end of the road by boys 2 men
@@jason62775 Definitely!!!
Home Free has a ton of great covers to react to! The Butts Remix, End of The Road, Mayday! Hope you react to some more & become a Home Fry!
@@jason62775 I have been suggesting that since he started the channel.
The beatboxer is Adam Rupp he has won a beatboxing championship, rumored that as young child he swallowed a complete drumkit. 😂
Have him check out Adam Rupp, the beat boxer's drum solo! It will blow his mind!
He has actually won 2 world championships. The cool thing is he didn't learn to beatbox until he & his brother Chris started the group in college.
@@lorrieriddle2211 Adam has never competed internationally, so he is not a world champion. More than a decade ago he won some local sweepstakes.
I wish people would stop spreading this misinformation.
Bwaahhhh!
When Austin looks up after he starts his vocals, I legit melted. Fan-girling right now. This group is insane! Mad talent.
Home Free Austin Brown When a man loves a woman
Fyi ..When listening to Acapella groups, use the best headphones you can get, so nothing is lost. Enjoy!
Was looking for this comment thumbs it up
There are no instruments, it’s all vocals
@@sharonpate5481 Hence him saying its Acapella.
Also when a man loves a woman. These guys are my favorite acapella group
Yess! Austin Brown on the lead vocals just gave that song a whole new life! Because of pandemic, the rest of the Home Free group had to appear on screens.
Yes! Please listen to" When a Man Loves a Woman", "End of the Road" Boys2Men cover,"Unchained Melody" by Austin Brown the high tenor," and " Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On" Ed Sheeran and Marvin Gaye cover! Also "Folsom Prison Blues"Johnny Cash cover and " The Butts Remix"Thank you very much! I think you will like them! Also please try "Adam Rupp Live Solo" shows some of his skills in beatboxing & vocal percussions!
This is a full acapella group! Everything is vocal! NO instruments. They are amazingly talented! Im a Home Fry
108 years ago this song was 1st sung, friends & neighbors Black&White gathered on their Porches playing Steel Guitars, &
Homemade instruments and Hand Pipes!! Drink Live Play & Love Each other!!!!!!!!!
Y'all should absolutely react to Oh Brother Where Art Thou
We definitely will thank you so much for the suggestion Matt
@@RobSquadReactions Good Deal!!! I can’t wait to see
Fantastic movie! Would suggest that J takes a quick peek at a summary of Homer's Odyssey (maybe Wikipedia?) before watching, as scenes in the film would make more sense.
Agreed!
Please do
Headphones REQUIRED! You have entered the squirrel nest of Home Free, full of nutz! Also wear head phones for Pentatonix!
@LadyJ Williams, I'd recommend starting with Daft Punk. That was the song that started me down their rabbit hole because of how well done the video was! I was looking at the screen saying "Who are these guys???" I wish I could have done a reaction video to it just to see my reaction!!!
Every time I've seen a reaction video to this song, everyone stops at Tim's bass. It's great! I used to sing with Rob Lundquist in college (the guy with the beard and glasses). He's a tenor and very talented.
oh you lucky human lol, he seems like a funny guy too, and yeah they're all incredibly talented.
Everyone stops at Adam's nomonica first. Cool about you and Rob. My daughter knew and hung out with Adam's sister in college.
The song from oh brother where art though is so much better…. So much better. Love the channel
I am wearing out my remote, rolling it back to hear the bass singer, over and over!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!
Thank you!
This is better than the original! I have the Soundtrack from "O, Brother, Where Art Thou".
Bless you!!!
Another popular Home Free remake to view is Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" featuring Avi from Pentatonix. You are now a Home Free Home Fry.
Amber call a movie night with Jay and Watch “O brother were art thou” he will love it when they think Pete got turned into a Toad. LOL
"Of course it's Pete, look at him!" LOL love that scene.
He got turned into a Horny Toad
“Them sireens loved him all up and turned him into a horny toad!” Lol and yes, spelled just like it was spoken!
"We thought you wuuuuzzzz a tooooooaaaaaadddd"
@@martinliv I sat there thinking, "has the heat gotten to Delmar's brain?"
About a year ago, this was the first song I heard from Home Free. I dove deep into that rabbit hole and they are now my favorite group ever! They are all mega talented and it is obvious they really love singing together and bringing those amazing harmonies.
O Brother where art thou is one of my favorite movies!!
Anything by Alison Krause would be awesome. Her blue grass country sound is bar none some of the best blue grass of modern times.
I have to give her a list thank you for the suggestion
Plus her voice sounds like angels singing. :)
Check out Butts remix, you won't believe it's Acapella!
@@RobSquadReactions do it
Amen to Allison Krauss. Her song " When you say nothing at all " was our wedding Dance. And she can play the fiddle!!!!
This song is over 100 years old and gets covered at least once every generation keeping it fresh in the populations memory. It being used in the movie was simply down to it fitting into the time the movie was set as the oldest known recordings of it are from the 1920's even with the song being in written form since the mid 1910's.
When you get a song right it will still sound good generations later.
This song actually predates "bluegrass" by many years.
Home free is Amazing, anything that comes out of their mouths is Golden. Especially their Patriotic or Christian songs. 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️
As a British atheist, I could do without the patriotic and christian stuff.
Y'all done entered another rabbit hole here. Home Free is legit. You will not believe how deep their talent goes!! Love the reaction man.
Alison Krauss “baby now that I found you” “the lucky one” “when you say nothing at all”
yes please The Lucky One
Oh, Brother where Art Thou - fell in love with Soggy Bottom Boys!
You need to do more Home Free and also Voiceplay!! They will blow you away!!
Great choice. Song is In the movie “O Brother where art thou?”
I thought they were covering that one when I clicked lol...
The actual singer of that was the guy from "Union Station", while George Clooney lip synched it. But I loved that version too!
Great movie too, some 'dapper dan' lol
Union Station is great.
That deep bass singer was Tim Faust of Home Free . He collaborated with Peter Hollans on a song, "Misty Mountains, a cover of a song from the Hobbit movie of "Lord of the Rings". It's captivating from beginning to end. Thanks guys!
Not just a bass. Tim is what's known as basso profundo, but the amazing thing about his voice is he can also sing tenor.
His vocal range is off the hook!
Some of my favorite reactions to watch are people listening to that final note in the Peter Hollens collaboration - ESPECIALLY from folks who haven't heard Tim Foust before. They're glorious!
For more deep bass singing check out Geoff Castallucci, with Acapella group Voice play and on his own channel. On Voiceplay's channel watch "Headless Horseman". Geoff does all the voices! On his channel check out his cover of "Blackbird" , of the Beatles.
I think he has 7 octaves including falsetto.
Tim Foust mentioned in an interview that there were over 120 recorded voices layered into the Misty Mountains session!
It's Tim Foust
This song was featured in the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou”. Dan Teminski (sp?) from Allison Krause and Union Station. You should check them out. They are an amazing bluegrass group!
That's the version I've used for years... I didnt know about this one and it's so surprisingly good!
I thought that was the one they were going to do, so I was really excited. So slightly disappointed it wasn’t. I much prefer the Krause with Tyminski version. Though this version was interesting.
That is my absolute favorite movie. I’ll never get tired of watching it.
This song is older than o brother where art thou. This is a folk song published in 1913 and released again in 1927. There are many many versions of this great song.
Oh hell yeah - Alison Krause & Union Station - I lovvvve that girl
Having a true Profundo Bass is a group - let alone one with a 5 Octave range is a real help to any band; they are all excellent singers - but I love the way Tim finishes this solo lines in what sounds like a real deep bass, then immediately after he goes off camera he drops down at least another octave and that is still not in his real sub woofer range! There are RUclips video where he has blown sub woofer and the notes are more felt then heard!
When I looked up some of his other songs I was quite disappointed to hear him singing in the tenor range! I mean there a quite a few excellent tenors but that Profundo Bass...WOW. The Misty Mountains Cold though...that last note doesn't even sound like it could be coming from a human. Chills.
@@burrichgrrl57 I think Tim really likes to play. His range is something like 5 octaves and he very much doesn't want to ONLY sing basso profundo. And now that they have Adam Chance in the group, they have him to carry the bass line anytime that Tim is singing lead. He even goes falsetto sometimes. Have you heard Tim and Austin doing "My Maria"? For low low low, perhaps "Brothers in Arms".
@@lschoenrank Yeah, I hear you but...lol. Yes, I've heard "My Maria" Fantastic! I must have listened to it a dozen times in a row.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Home Free!!! They are a country a capella group, however, they cover all kinds of genres. Every sound you hear is made with their mouths. No instruments! I can’t wait for you to dive down the rabbit hole and check out more of their stuff!!! 😁
Good choice Amber. There are about 100 more from Home Free that you will love. Consider "End of the Road", "American Pie", "When a man loves a woman", "In the blood" as a starter. Skin those and the fans will get you a hundred more suggestions.
Yes we will definitely check out some more of home free they were amazing
@@RobSquadReactions ....Butts Remix and Boondocks Mash Up by Home Free please!
This reaction is perhaps one of my absolute favorites by the crew, so fun.
Never get tired of this song. It is so hauntingly good. That harmonica is crazy!
But it’s NOT a harmonica..just his voice :)
I know, crazy!@@littlebutohwow
Country folk from West Virginia here to represent. Sitting on the front porch, playing bluegrass & passing around a bottle of shine is a perfectly acceptable way to spend a summer evening. Best of luck to the city people who have been locked down.
Yass! More Bluegrass...Gillian Welch, Alison Krauss, Emmyloo Harris.
Plenty Morr coming !!
Yessss to Alison Kraus & Union Station !!
Everyone forgets Nanci Griffith...
A.BER YOU WILL GO CRAZY listening to Home Free -------RING OF FIRE ! Best ever
hellp, my loves......this metalhead old. lady LOVES THIS!!!!!
LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
I had to watch your face 3X when you heard the bass. Amazing, Honest and sincere reaction!!! Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole, can't wait
You will never go wrong with Home Free. Everything, and I mean everything they do, is excellent. Been waiting on y'all to react to them. You made my day.
The ability to sing this well feels like a real-life superpower.
It's digital trickery. With a computer, it's possible to make one average singer sound like a quartet singing in perfect four part harmony. Here's how they do it:
ruclips.net/video/iVQDB4tbL8k/видео.html
Thanks guys. Never heard them before but Ill be checkin' out Home Free now.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! Run on over and do a reaction to literally any other Home Free video. They are a country a cappella vocal group, but they can sing ANYTHING!!! Give a listen to “The Butts Remix,” “Take me home, country roads,” “Love Train,” “Cover Me Up,” “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” Oh, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” is amazing too. Do not watch “Mayday” or “End of the Road” until you are familiar with the group. Trust me... It will blow your mind.
We cannot wait to hear more they blew us away with this one
@@RobSquadReactions End Of The Road will be fine to React to maybe after 5 songs, but Mayday definitely not until 10-15 or even 15-20 Songs!
@@rogerwest603 That's Right
I also can't get enough of their collaborations with Peter Hollins who is another AMAZING Acapella artist that will blow your mind!!! One of my favorites is "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" they also incorporate their fans into it. It's a lot of fun! It also shows how versatile they have become from their original Country roots when they started on the Sing Off.
If you like Home Free, you'll enjoy Voice Play (both groups were on The Sing Off the same season) Geoff is comparable as bass.
A teacher that still enjoys learning things and feels like we are all family is a great thing to be. O Brother...is a Coen bros. telling of the Odyssey with Sirens luring men and a giant Cyclops. It's amazing and the music and humor are first rate.
AMBER & JAY. It has been over 7 months since y’all reacted to Home Free!!!!!!🤨🤨🤨
Please check out Peter Hollins & Home Free’s cover of U2’s - "I still haven't found what I'm looking for". Y’all love choirs & this song features their fans singing the background vocals. This video was made during the peak of COVID, so the video is all filmed from their homes. I guarantee this will make y’all smile😁😁😁
The ALL TIME BEST version of this great song! By one of the ALL TIME BEST groups in the world!!!
Home Free is one of the best Acapella groups around! They have many covers like Mayday, End of the Road, just to name a few. You will not be disappointed!! Watch them and give us your reactions!
Tim Foust (Home Free) is one of three a capella singers who can sing amazingly low notes (they don't always sing a capella, but are quite good at it when they do.) The other two are Geoff Castellucci (of VoicePlay) and Avi Kaplan (formerly of Pentatonix.)
You should react to "Sixteen Tons" (cover by Geoff Castelluci) and "Ring Of Fire" (cover by Home Free, with both Tim Foust AND Avi Kaplan.)
Geoff is my favorite!! Oogie Boogie Song kixks!!!
Or try his version of Elvis Presley's Way Down and Ghost Riders in the Sky. Both video play off that Geoff's name keeps getting misspelled or mispronounced with either the name tags or the names you'll find in the posts.
Oh Yes I Love that movie too . The cover to the Misty Mountains they do is AMAZING!!!!
Love it, Home Free is taking up a lot of my music daily diet
I am an old metal head musician with a serious Bluegrass addiction! Thank you for reacting to this old bluegrass tune! Thank you so much for this Amber....mama hat taste and done good
I was just introduced to this song about a month ago....and I love it! I'm so glad Amber has taken you way out of your comfort zone. Edit here: Foggy Mountain Breakdown.
Out of my comfort zone because when the song first started I didn’t know what was about to happen
@@RobSquadReactions I think I did the same thing. My daughter turned me on to this song.....she's very country and me being an old rock/hippie chick was scratching my head at first. Amazing, amazing song!
@@CharCanuck14 Well, deep in your soul, you know Rock came from Bluegrass just as much as the more claimed roots...
Home Free those guys are incredible and any song that they cover is truly amazing
You need to check out all the music by Home Free. Those of us that follow them are called Home Fries. This is an all acapella country group that won The Voice in 2010. These gentlemen can sing anything & even though the majority of their videos are covers, they always make the song their own. If you Crazy by Patsy Cline, you will love the version that Home Free did. Thanks for your reaction.
So excited to see a newbie see Home Free, then when they realize that it is an all vocal group.
I love seeing someone's first reaction to Home Free! They are the only country a capella group out there...but they do much more than country. If you want to get an idea of what they do, absolutely check out their covers of Boys II Men "End of the Road", "The Butts Remix", "Hillbilly Bone",and "My Church". They also do the most amazing rendition of "How Geeat Thou Art". If you like beatboxing, their beatboxer, Adam Rupp is a 2 time National champion beatboxer and you can check out the video "Adam Rupp Drum Solo" from one of their live concerts. There are many, many more Home Free songs/videos...some covers and some original songs... Way too many to mention. But I promise you that you will not be disappointed!! They always deliver... I'm still blown away after years of listening to them. I cant wait to see you react to them more so I am subbing right now! Great Reaction!
I never heard this group before, I enjoyed it just as much as the movie.
Thanks! Love the connection to Dad. Another great is Ricky Skaggs "Country Boy". The video is cool. Shot in NY City streets. Skaggs began pickin with Mandolin, I believe, so watch his RIGHT hand on the acoustic guitar! Most watch the left hand sliding the neck but as a picker he has a couple picks, thumb & another finger plus he's singing not totally focused on instrument. Thanks for all the smiles kids, California Love
I think y'all would love their cover of Love Train by the O'Jays. Not only is that an amazing song, but the group incorporated their fans into the video. It's so much fun!
This is MY first time hearing Home Free, and they're great. But let's not short-change traditional bluegrass. To me, watching a Bluegrass band play takes it to the next level as much as watching an orchestra kicks classic music up a notch.
I just listened to the Home Free / Oak Ridge Boys song and HAD to find more from Home Free! They are phenomenal!! Holy WOW!!
Jordan lol. “Babe…..hold up! What you got me into?! This goes hard!!!”
Welcome to the acapella rabbit hole!
Next you need to react to "Ring of Fire" and "Butts Remix"
This was Amazing!!
Yessss! Ring of fire, featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix. Soo .. .double the bass??...yes please!
I agree!!
Ring of fire is sizzlin.
If u think that Tim Faust is low, watch this one, Geoff Castelucci doing Tennessee Ernie Ford's 16 Tons!! The man is INSANELY LOW!!!!
Anything that reminds us of our daddy’s is always welcome. Mine was Rod Stewart. Every time he was in town for a concert dad bought a grip of ticket for whom ever ❤️
Yes!!! the greatest movie ever !!!
AWESOME MOVIE FULL OF TOTALLY AWESOME MUSIC! Love - Going Down To The River To Pray
You're now officially a Home Fry, aka Home Free Fan, Welcome aboard! Oh that reminds me "Love Train" by the O Jay's is another good one that they do.
It is pretty easy to fall for this group as they are so talented! Each of them has their own unique beautiful voice but when you put them together along with Adam their beatboxer the sky is the limit! Great music really is timeless! You should check out Home Free's cover of End of the Road by Boyz 2 Men, you will not be disappointed!
Home Free is the real deal! All five guys are super talented vocalists, and they sing songs from several genres. You'll love "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Can't Stop The Feeling" and "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" featuring Kenny Rogers.
Joy is how you will feel after all Home Free music!
I feel like Amber’s parents both had amazing ear for music.
I have never heard this version of this song but I love love love it!!!!!
It was so cool!!
My first time hearing this version as well. I'm impressed.
@ 4:12...Rob is just blown away...LOVE IT!!!!
RAP ? You have come a long way ! These voices are THEE BEST THERE IS - ask yourself = After Each Song they do. GBjj
Do note, the band IS acapella, meaning all sounds are made by the human mouth and voice. No Instruments, no computers, no nothing, just their voices. PEACE!!!!!
Yes that’s what blew me away the guy making her Monica sounds with his mouth was crazy
No, they're autotuned. It's not humanly possible to sound like they do.
@Will Dwyer Without sounding condescending, please go watch them in concert...then come back and correct your incorrect statement. They can and do make instrumental sounds using only their voices.
There's this thing called research. Read it and weep! It's ALL them...
Bluegrass - very cool. Or a mix of country and bluegrass - Dolly Parton !
I will definitely check her out that’s a name I have heard before
Yes! Jolene, Coat of Many Colors, so many great Dolly songs!
Listen to Jolene by just her first, then her collab with Pentatonix
Home Free is amazing so many exceptional covers Folsom Prison Blues , When a Man Loves a Woman, End of The Road (boyz to men) so good
I used this song in both my mother's (2004) and my son's (2007) funerals.

Adam Rupp, their best boxer is a human instrument machine!!
The singer with the glasses and the beat boxer both are from Minnesota. I am with you. I was jaw dropped when u first heard this song.
Wow, I never heard that version before, gonna go check this group out.
Glad you liked Home Free! They have many great songs. They’re also funny guys. For a change of pace, check out The Butts Remix.
I love how you're bouncing all over the place until Tim hit you with the bass solo, and you just STOPPED. LOL You would probably love the Butts Remix, Hillbilly Bone, Ring of Fire, Helplessly Hoping, and after all of those and a few more, Mayday. But don't do Mayday until you have a grasp on their roles and ranges within the group, trust me on this. Please go down the Home Free rabbit hole, the Home Fries will follow!
THIS IS FUN STUFF! BLUE GRASS MUSICIANS ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND MAKE THOSE SOUNDS WITH NO ELECTRIC SOUNDS! FLAT AND SCRUGGS WERE THE FOREFATHERS!
Curiously for an acapella band, they all can play instruments. Tim Foust (bass) and Austin Brown (lead singer on this) both play piano (they're both also song writers and have originals on y/t); Rob Lundquist (beard & glasses) can play saxophone; Adam Chance (bass/baritone) plays guitar and Adam Rupp (beatboxer) plays drums, trumpet and just about anything he chooses. Fall down the rabbit hole!
Home free is awesome. I got to see them live back in 2019. Any song you choose to react to will be lit. New to the channel. Loved the reaction..

That group started in Minnesota if you can believe it. They sing all genres of music. One member from Texas, one from Georgia. Try more of their stuff. You'll love it all.
Austin Brown, who was born and raised in Tifton, Georgia, filmed this in Alabama

If you dig bluegrass, try "Will the Circle be Unbroken"
It'll make you cry and smile at fond memories.......
We will definitely give it a listen thank you so much for the suggestion Victor
The basso profundo, Tim Foust, hit such a low note in a live performance he rattled an old lady's false teeth out her mouth!
HOME FREE...Ring of FIRE (Cover) Johnny Cash
Welcome to the "Home Fries"! Their catalog of songs is extensive. As you mentioned, there were no instruments in this. The harmonica was Adam Rupp, and the "jaw harp" was Adam Chance. At the very end, you can see Chance (people just call him by his last name, to avoid confusion) doing the jaw harp sounds.
For a look at their fun side, I would recommend "Quarantine", "Butts Remix", and "All About That Bass".
Tim also collaborated with Voiceplay (along with MANY other a capella artists) on "Just Sing".
Tim, Avi Kaplan (Pentatonix), and Geoff Castellucci (Voiceplay) all have amazing bass voices.
Home Free, and Voiceplay actually competed against each other on "The Sing-Off". Home Free won, but Voiceplay is still amazing.
A more recent very funny video where the music does not suffer at all is Brother. The guys' costumes show their interests in RL. Adam, the wizard/mage is a D&D master; Chance loves Star Wars and has his own helmet.
O Brother Where Art Thou is an awesome movie. It is based on Homer’s Odyssey. For me, I was a bit confused the first time I watched it but I figured it out the second time and really loved it.
"Y'all......!!" O.O Home Free are my home boys from up here in Minneapolis, Minnesota! ☮🤩😍
Home Free is one of my ALL TIME faves! I love their vocals and Adam's Beatboxing is INCREDIBLE!!!
