I love the late, great Dr. Ralph Stanley ( R.I.P. ) and his Clinch Mountain Boys......but this may be just as exciting as the original.......ALL the female reactors melt hearing Tim's basso profundo voice !
In my opinion there are too many who hear the word "country" and bypass Home Free altogether--a really unnecessary negative bias. In this song they are making a distinct southern (bluegrass) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. If actors were to do this they'd be given accolades, but far too many people don't give HF the respect or props they deserve for their incomparable expertise (full sound and harmonies=acapella that most people don't recognize as such). HF are far too underappreciated for the wide range of genres they cover.
I for one love all music, my cotton pickin ancestors, blue grass, Spanish, Irish music and other are sample from each other race,it's just that folks will not admit it that we are all connected 😀 especially through music, thank God these days the young people are open minded about music from every culture 🙏
"When a Man Loves a Woman " is amazing by them. To see their humorous side check out "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget " " Butts Melody " and " Country Fried Pop Melody " I have yet to see or hear a bad song from Home Free.
These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. Keep up your journey through Home Free. You will not find a bad song.
They are the best. Chance (thin guy with the dark vest) was doing the Jews Harp or mouth harp sound. There are videos on YT called Adam Rupp drum solo (beatboxer). ON their live shows, the rest of the guys go off stage and leave him alone to do about 8 mins or so of him playing with his sounds. Check it out. Worth the watch.
And for unbelievable a cappella sound effects, try Pentatonix cover of Bohemian Rhapsody where they do the lead guitar riff; you would think you are actually listening to “Queen’s” Brian May’s guitar, and not a persons voice.
Butts Remix is a fun one by them. There is a video 22 times Tim Foust went subwoofer, all live... 🤯 Another one that is a must Kenny Rogers and them Children Go Where I Send Thee
True. Great song mash-up. And Tim that is the bass has a 3 octave range. Check him out showing off on his new solo album Tim Faust "Pieces of Me" album. "Will You Sill Love Me Tomorow/Stay" is mind blowing.
They do a killer cover of End of the Road. For their humorous side- and more killer beatboxing- check out their Butts Remix. No instruments- these boys do it all!!!!Your membership is gonna spike from all the Home Fry’s coming over!
You need to react to Peter Hollans and Tim Foust the bass singer for home free sing Misty Mountains . They are both really good and Tim shows of his deep bass.
The incredible thing about HF is that all four singers are good enough to be frontmen, and beatboxer Adam Rupp is otherworldly. The group formed in 2000, and Rupp is the last original member. Rob Lundquist (second soloist) joined up in 2008, about the time that HF went full-time. Tim Foust (third soloist) committed to the group in 2012, with Austin Brown (first soloist) right behind him. Adam "Chance" was invited into the group in 2016. All four can sing below C2, which makes them basses. All four can sing above C5, which makes them tenors.
you can also check on YT : Adam Rupp drum solo ..... prepare to be amazed!. I just dbl checked and they aren't there but HFs End of the Road and Mayday should be your next HF reactions. They show they can do more pop sounding stuff, yes, it's the Boys II Men 'End of the Road', where their big guy Rob has a chance to shine, then try Mayday, where you'll hear so many switch ups and layering that you'll be Home Fries for life
The song is very old and is a traditional American folk song first published by Dick Burnett, a partially blind fiddler from Kentucky. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Burnett dated to around 1913. What is amazing about this version by Home Free | Man of Constant Sorrow is that it is acapella and the musical sounds of the drums, Jew's harp, mouth harp (harmonica) and beat box are all done by two singers in the band. Watch for them.
Home Free - Making Ovaries Quiver World-Wide. Now it's time for End of the Road, Mayday, When a Man loves a Woman, Thinking out loud/Let's get it on and Brothers in Arms. Brothers in Arms is the song of a dying Soldier. Many "React" people just don't get that and have a manic grin on their faces throughout the song. It's a song that hits us Veterans really hard.
You should hear Tim's BASS voice in BROTHERS IN ARMS, one of their covers. Then you would hear a little more BASS. Just a suggestion. Great Post. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Tim Foust tells a story of hitting a note so low in a live performance it rattled the false teeth out a lady's mouth. Have you reacted to Dimash Kudaibergen or Morrisette?
I call these two the team with the gorgeous woman with lovely skin. I know the names, but EVERY time we listen to a reaction I go on and on about this lovely, lovely (and NICE) woman.
That twangy sound at the beginning and end is called a juice harp, it fits in your pocket, and I've had one for those for years. Its not complicated to play one, but to replicate that sound vocally is amazing. For a funny take by them, check out the Butts Melody. Its hilarious.
I've watched many reaction videos on this performance and the women reacting to the deep voice is priceless in every video. Even professional voice coaches and a like melt.
Another reactor, a vocal coach, pointed out that when Tim comes out of his bass solo, and they go into the harmony slide, Tim actually drops even lower. Now when I hear it, it blows me away.

Marsha C...I read you loud and clear! You are spot on. These guys are true artists in every conception of the expression. Hard work, humility, cooperation, and a love for what you are doing is seen in their craft. The result? Joy; to them and to us who listen to them.
Chance was doing the jawbone sound & Adam was doing the harmonica sound & the beatboxing...No disrespect to other acapela groups out there, IMHO Home Free is in a league all by themselves!!!
To get the full effect of Tim Foust's range, the bass, you need to watch All About That Bass. Also How Great Thou Art, Ring of Fire, Blue Ain't Your Color, God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood.
This song goes way back before the movie. It is said to be first written down about 1913 by Dick Burnett. He and the Junebugs recorded it in 1927. It was again recorded in the ‘50’s by The Stanley Brothers. Bob Dylan recorded it in the ‘60’s. It was recorded by many others before being used in the movie, “O,Brother Where Art Thou”. Home Free has the best version, in my opinion.
You should listen to Misty mountains with Peter hollens and Tim foust from home free you'll get the beautiful highs and the deep deep lows from Tim it's incredible
This song is over 100 years old but was made popular in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou. These boys are really talented. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer can do drums, harmonica, castanets, bugs, all manner of sounds. Try Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). He’s remarkable. Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and sing as a tenor. Chance (also in the back) was doing the mouth harp. Austin, lead here, can also do the harmonica. Rob (glasses) has a beautiful voice. Please try some other videos to hear their amazing harmonies. Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, One Man Band, Country Roads. Great reaction you two. 😀
Oh man they have lots of looks with different songs. They are incredible and they just dropped a valentines song Make You Feel My Love. And their End Of The Road cover will floor you. So many songs, funny, serious, r&b, country, rock. They do it all
the boy's turn't up their country for this one ! They just released yesterday a cover of Unchained Melody....it's so damn good. Those harmonies are mind blowing !!!
!MISTY MOUNTAINS"peter hollens, ft,Tim foust, tim bass from home free,,please, you will see how low tim can go, trust me u will be amazed with both men ,song is from the movie, "The HOBBIT"
Hey y’all! You gotta check out “Butts Medley,” “Thinking Out Loud/Let’s Get It On,” “When A Man Loves A Woman,” “Ain’t Goin’ Down Till the Sun Comes Up,” “How Great Thou Art,” and many more. I live that you’re reacting to Home Free…I don’t really care for country music but I can listen to them all day long.
This is such an awesome song. They do it more than justice! Their harmonies are awesome. The bass is awesome, and the beat boxer is par excellence! Love your reactions!
This song was not written for the movie as some people think. It had already been in existence for no telling how long when it was first recorded in 1913. Ralph Stanley & the Stanley Brothers made it famous (sort of famous) in 1950.
Holy sh** I've never heard this group before and didn't even notice it was them making the beat with their mouths until Asia said something these guys are truly talented music needs more of this that's for sure... Keep it up guys I love all the vids.
I notice that today a few are dividing us hard (Fear) and a few are new and will change the world and us with it by uniting through Music Just like Angelina Jordan has that "There' a reason she' here vocals. I think these few bring the real power we should become united. If we just tried to make our mother proud, just that would better us all. After al we share her, for we are one!
Home Free just released their version of Unchained Melody. Austin Brown of Home Free did it earlier, but now the whole group has a version. It's fantastic! You should check it out. You won't be disappointed.
They get better every day. We have traveled and attended 6 of their concerts and looking forward to attending a few more soon. Love to watch these guys in person.
If you like this song you should see the movie Great actors, great music so funny I like this version but I still think it's better by Union station with Allison Kraus
Have you checked out any of Austin's or Tim's solo work? Austin does an unbelievable version of "Bring Him Home" and Tim's solo doo wop album where he lays down all the tracks himself. The one that really hsowcases his range is "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay"
Explore the "HOME FREE" world ,Tim ( the bass singer) also writes, he wrote " CHAMPAGNE TASTE ON A BEER BUDGET "and has a solo project where he sings solo doo-wop classics, Austin ( first tenor long hair and beard) also has solo releases on of them is "AT LAST" Check them out.
If you like voices that make sounds prepare to be blown away!!!! Ganedi telenchenko. I don’t know if you can do a response as he preformed on Europe has talent. Please give it a listen it is so beautifully awesome!!!!
Don't know if you have done them or not but, When A Man Loves A Woman , End Of The Road, great, GREAT covers. Adam Rupp has a UNREAL drum solo --- yep a solo --- you will be amazed at what he can do. They all have unreal vocals and each of them can be the lead, depending upon the song. All of them can sing bass and Tim (the base on this recording) can actually cover 5 octives --- the others can cover 4 octives. You are going down a rabbit hole that you will be totally amazed with !!!! Love that you are doing reactions to them !!!!
The man you need to check out for a low register voice is JD Sumner who was with Elvis for many years. Also Richard Sturban from the Oak Ridge Boys who was also with Elvis for a while.
HEY Asian BJ, I know you're Homefree fans, I seen your reaction to "When a Man Loves a Woman" which is my all-time favorite by them, Austin Brown who had the lead has his own page and does a cover of "Why Georgia"you might want to check it out, he really does this song Justice. Thanks for your reactions, you have great taste for music.
“Ring of Fire” for bass; they do it with Avi from Pentatonix. Very cool bassists playing off each other and everyone else harmonizing high is pretty cool
From left to center, Man of constant sorrow, Rob Lindquist 2nd Tenor, right front Austin Brown 1st Tenor, front right Tim foust, Bass, back left, Adam Chance, baritone sang bass with the last group he was with. Back right, Adam Rupp co-founder of group beatboxer extraordinaire, ate a drum kit when he was a kid Home Free suggestions in this order, Home Free Ring of fire, Home Free how Great thou art, Home Free May Day, Home Free blue ain't your color, home free helplessly hopeful, Home Free how Great thou art, Home Free drum solo, Home Free I cannot run you. Does Home Free even have a bad song? LOL They are incredibly talented and don't get me started on their personalities and sense of humor! They are one of my favorite groups now, I am so happy that I discovered them about a year ago. Great reaction, always enjoy you both.
Watch Adam Rupp's drum solo. Preferably one of the latest videos as he has gotten even better over the years. Also there's a video of Tim blowing up the speakers with a low note at a live concert in Morrison Illinois that you'd like.
You are never going to hear a bad Home Free song. This is the first Home Free video I ever saw. Was hooked on the spot....Tims bass They just released a cover of Unchained Melody. I think you two will like their version of Folsom Prison Blues...thats bass.
The HF guys call their Ward winning beatboxer “a freak of nature”. I keep thinking how much fun it would to have him as a dad! He would kill it at the birthday parties!!
First time I heard someone play a harmonica with just their voice was a young black man named Michael Winslow who played Larvell Jones in police academy
Lol I’ve noticed in every reaction video when dude with the deep voice kicks in and it cute to him they all immediately go into shock haha
🎉😂😅

The harmonica, twang sound, and clicking and drumming is actually a voice, no instrument used.

Agreed, End of the Road shows their versatility and how they both respect the original but make it their own.
They just released “Unchained Melody “ for Valentines Day. It’s really good.
The song sucks.....
said nobody.

her eyes do it for me....I mean this with all due respect to her and her man.
Hell yeah! Those EYES!
Have you watched “Ring of Fire” it is amazing and watch the drum solo by Adam Rupp.
At the end of song he is imitating a "mouth harp" and just like the harmonica he nailed it.

Their "Helplessly Hoping" is my favorite performance from them. This is how you end your night.
I agree. It's too short but stays true to the Crosby, Sills & Nash original.
Finally you got to this song, so so good now check out more of the recent stuff blue ain't your color, crazy, Brothers in arms all amazing.

This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE song they do!! They are just so extremely talented!! Great reaction guys!! ❤ it!!
My favorite part of this is Adam playing the No-Monica
Marsha C...I read you loud and clear! You are spot on. These guys are true artists in every conception of the expression. Hard work, humility, cooperation, and a love for what you are doing is seen in their craft. The result? Joy; to them and to us who listen to them.
Chance was doing the jawbone sound & Adam was doing the harmonica sound & the beatboxing...No disrespect to other acapela groups out there, IMHO Home Free is in a league all by themselves!!!

Gotta do their "Butts" Remix/Medley.
Ty for reacting to Home Free!! They are the best!! Everything they do is gold!!
That harmonica sound is really Adam the beatboxer, I've seen them do this in concert and he has no harmonica and it sounds just as good as the video.
Helplessly Hoping cover by Home Free beautiful harmonies!
Tim Faust(the bass man) actually has a range of 5 octaves, is stunning how he can sing.
Adam does the beatboxing and did the harmonica Chase did the mouth harp sounds.
The beat boxer is Adam Rupp and you should react to his drum solo! Also you should check out their cover of Ring of fire!

Another of theirs with Adam doing a Harmonica solo without a harmonica….”WORKIN FOR A LIVIN”….it’s great fun & just Terrific 🥰‼️🥰💥
This is such an awesome song. They do it more than justice! Their harmonies are awesome. The bass is awesome, and the beat boxer is par excellence! Love your reactions!
The song was from around 1900 and published in 1913. So it is actually pre-bluegrass and pre-country music. Sort of an ancestor of both.
Their cover of Boyz II Men End of The Road is damn good!
That bass is Tim Foust. He has a great range. There are some compilations of him going so low that it sounds like he's about to bust the subwoofer.
This song was not written for the movie as some people think.
It had already been in existence for no telling how long when it was first recorded in 1913.
Ralph Stanley & the Stanley Brothers made it famous (sort of famous) in 1950.
You pointed it out, Chance was making that opening and closing instrument you heard. You pointed him out as he closed the song.
This group is epic! And yes, definitely check out "When a Man Loves a Woman"! It's the perfect "Valentine's Day" song (even a day late).
You need to go see Home Free in person. The bass at a live show will rattle you out of your seats!! lol This is a concert that does not disappoint.

You need to check out their covers of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Ring of Fire." Both are amazing.
Yeah, Ring of Fire is amazing, and Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix is in that video as well. Tim and Avi are really good together!
The man you need to check out for a low register voice is JD Sumner who was with Elvis for many years. Also Richard Sturban from the Oak Ridge Boys who was also with Elvis for a while.
This song is one of my favourites of theirs along with In The Blood and My Church.
Wow ! , these guys are as good as it gets. Love and Respect Ontario, Canada
Yeah they got their own sound man it's very soothing 😊
Thanks for doing this reaction, Home Free is actually a new group for me and I was hooked when they did When a Man loves a Woman

Does Home Free even have a bad song? LOL They are incredibly talented and don't get me started on their personalities and sense of humor! They are one of my favorite groups now, I am so happy that I discovered them about a year ago. Great reaction, always enjoy you both.
They all have extraordinary gifts. Always entertaining to watch.
Was hooked on the spot....Tims bass
They just released a cover of Unchained Melody.
