Austin is doing good justice to this song because he's fairly newly head over heels in love with a lovely young thing, and she's standing behind the camera man while he sings. You can see him give sparkly eyes at her, and it looks like he's sparkling at us because she's right there. 🤩😍
You just heard, when a man loves a woman, at the best its ever been sung. No one and I mean no one will ever make it sound this good. You just heard the best of this song that will never be done better. Perfect , that's the word perfectly done. He did not climb the stairs, He took the elevator. This is one my absolute favourites of Austin Brown…..Tim Foust (the Bass), had been after him to do the lead on this for a good while…his voice is Perfect for it…No Doubt ❤️🥰‼️🙃. 100% agreed on all points. Back in '66 this was the song( performed by Percy Sledge) we all wanted to be played at the end of a dance, because the last dance was usually the only one where you got to hold the girl and you could make your move to see her home. At this point I must state the The Swinging Sixties was a misnomer, because only the music swung herein the UK, the girls generally didn't! BJ was spot-on in saying it topped the original, In never thought it would be, but in fairness to Mr.Sledge, Home Free have five terrific voices to do it with, not just Mr. Sledge's! How good was it that his GF was here to inspire Tim to give it all he had?!! RIP Percy Sledge, I just Wiki'ed him-an interesting read, but sadly and he passed away in 2015.

Actually, Austin (that sang this song) used to always do the leads. Rob does a lot of leads now as does Chance and Tim. An extremely talented group with all great singers and an extremely good beatboxer, Adam.
Shawn Stockman absolutely loves Austin's voice and said "The man can blow and it's effortless". High praise from a fellow singer. Home Free is who you listen to when you need a lift me upper or just a haven from this crazy world we are in right now! Oh yeah, LOVE BJ's reaction. You know he loves Asia just like this song's meaning.
I saw Percy Sledge in a bar in Augusta, Ga. sing this ( in the 70’s). Lordy it was great. This is just as great if not better. They are definitely at the very top of their profession. So much talent.
Love this! Home Free also just dropped a new song called Dreamer in collaboration with Texas Hill. They kill that too. I can’t get enough of these guys.
I never thought anyone could touch the version by Percy Sledge, but I am always left breathless when I hear Austin belt this out. Great choice. Fantastic reaction 🌺✌️
Thank you for your reaction. Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
Austin is their high tenor, Rob (one with glasses) is the lower tenor This is an epic rendition and the greatest difference is it's all vocals and you don't even miss the instruments because they are that good!
Love your guys reaction...Asia's eyes light up when she hears exceptional arrangements...BJ shaking his head in agreement to the lyrics is great. Keep it up
Their cover called "Helplessly Hoping" is a must! Please react to that one. They always have killer harmonies. Austin's vocals cuts right through cheddar cheese like butter.
Home Free is the "BOMB!!!" They are absolute pure FIRE!!!" They're so good that not even COVID-19 & "social distancing" couldn't stop them from harmonizing this "MASTERPIECE!!!"
When this was first released, I listened to it three times in a row, just totally captivated. They are always amazing, and Austin is my favorite and with this song...damn, he put all his heart and soul into it.
Percy Sledge DID THIS SOULFUL TUNE JUSTICE as a high tenor himself .... and with all due respect to that man FROM MY UPBRINGING ..... Austin Brown takes it up to NEXT LEVEL !
Home Free, and Pentatonix, take a cappella to a new level. Astonishing talent. When you are in the mood for a fun song check out Home Free's cover of Blake Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone". I hear Blake thought it was great...which it is.
This is so good isn’t it?!! Austin (lead) and Adam (beatboxer) killed it. This was done during Covid so I thought the tv’s were clever. Good reaction Asia and BJ. Mary Did You Know, Brothers in Arms, Helplessly Hoping to hear more great harmonies from them.
That first line... when Mrs. Asia's smile lights up... just as priceless as the song! 😏😎 Y'all are killing these reactions!!! If ya ever get a chance... please consider doing Courtney Hadwins cover of Old Town Road!!! Or sign of the times, someone you loved, sucker... or her AGT Golden buzzer tune! Or her original on AGT Championship... Pretty Little Things! Wishing yall a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
One of the great things about the Home Free men is how they're not afraid to showcase each other. Everyone is a lead, and everyone is chorus. And they're all so damned awesome... Gotta warn folks to bolt down their chairs on this on though, 'cause Austin sings you right out of them.
I'm yet to see a reaction video to this video where the reactor/s don't fall in love with Austin and his voice. He truly is embodying soul deep love. His lovely girlfriend Amberly is standing right there and he's so focused on his feelings for her and it shows in everything. I recommend listening to it again with your focus on the harmonies because the whole arrangement and structure is incredibly, not just Austin's vocals. The harmonies are supported by the beats and the bass below, and they support the soaring melody on top. Simply stunning. Everyone but the beatboxer sing lead in this band, so they don't have one singel front person like traditional bands and groups do. These guys simply choose whoever sings it in the most satisfying way, or who's voice fits the best, for the lead. You should check out Cover Me Up to here Chance's voice. His smooth baritone is like silk. Stay until the end for a sweet and real life moment out of his life. 😍 Thanks for the reaction! 🥰🙏
I'm not sure how much Home free you have heard , but besides Austin Brown who sang lead on this one , the bass man Tim Foust , has a five octave range to his voice . He can sing so low that he has blown headphones and subwoofers .
Cool to see you guys listen to this tune. And it's always cool to see a song I'm familiar with (I even suggested this one in another video) and to see what others think of it. Sharing music, as it were. It's like we're all sitting around the stereo, sharing and playing tracks for one another: "Hey have you head this one?" or, "That guitar solo was killer," or "I didn't know you liked that type of music." Sharing tunes, having fun. Keep up the good work.
Also Tim Foust the bass has new release of The Shirelles "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"he hits some high notes that really floored me I've never seen him pitch so high
gotta do 'how great thou art', 'love train', 'go rest high on the mountain', 'mayday', 'butts remix', all really good stuff....and if you want more Austin only (the singer here) - go watch Austin Brown do Etta James 'At Last' in key....phenomenal...

Austin also has originals both with Home Free ("Love Me Like That", "California Country') and on his own channel ("If I Met You Now", "Real Talk" and "Off the Grid"). Both he and Tim Foust (bass) are song writers and both play piano. Curiously for an acapella band, the can all play instruments. Keep falling down the rabbit hole - it's a great trip! Love from Canada.
In the early days of Home Free, they did a cover of O Holy Night, with Tim Foust the bass taking the first half on the lead in Austin Brown doing the second half, if you want more of Austins high range, it's a must see.
Awesome reaction! And thank you for commenting on Austin's super high notes as the song was fading out near the end. Many reactors start talking over that part and who knows if they EVER hear it!
