Ankle Structure and Anatomy Of Ankle Sprains

In the first of a series of videos on ankle sprains, physio Lachlan Sutherland describes the ankle structure and the important pieces of anatomy that are involved.
Even though ankle sprains are really common, they are also commonly treated and rehabilitated poorly.
The humble ankle sprain often doesn’t get the credit (or the effort) it deserves.
If you meet someone who has sprained their ankle 10 or 15 times, they'll tell you things like 'it always feels unstable, especially on rough ground'. 'Gives out unexpectedly'. 'Can't wear heels'.
You have to remember that they started with their first ankle sprain too!
This is why it is important to get it right every time, but especially the very first time.
