@@davidmckenna3157 The Blacklist album has the version with Alessia Cara leads. I took this video and extracted an MP3 to add to my Spotify playlist. This is the best version. I hope they put it out on an album but I suspect they can't really do that.
@@iggy8702 thanks, I got the black album. I’ve been to a few live shows of other bands and they often burn cd’s of the show that you can purchase. I would love to have a CD of this whole concert. I think this performance is one of their best and the sound quality and mix are fantastic. I think the performance of “When I’m Alone” from this show is the masterpiece of their genius! I would pay good money for a CD. I’m even thinking of trying to convert the RUclips video myself if I can’t find one.
The reason that Dany is playing a Gibson Explorer, has nothing to do with James surprisingly, it is because it was gifted to her by Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.
That's worth taking a look at!
To be fair, her decision to use it for this song in particular is probably a tribute to James.
The fact that she choose the use that Gibson for this song is definitely a Metallica tribute though.
@@JanneBernards You're right in that I could have worded this better, but my point is that if Lzzy did not gift her the guitar, she was not going to buy one just for this song, I don't think.

The Warning only had a few days to figure out how to rewrite this song while still being true to the original. They said it was highly stressful but they loved working remotely with Alessia Cara. They were relieved that Metallica liked it. They were honoured to not only be asked, but very much aware of the "full circle moment" as they described it. Their faces glowed when they talked about the process and the result.
This is part of Metallica's Blacklist 30th Anniversary album, They asked a variety of artists to do their own versions of the songs. This is the first song on the album!

You know Metallica asked them to do a version for their Blacklist album also Lizzy Hale gave Dany that guitar. You can see a video of her giving her the guitar.

*Metallica* asked *Alessia Cara* to do a version of 7 covers of *Enter Sandman* on *Metallica's Blacklist Album* (a charity project *Metallica* did for their 30th Anniversary of their *"Black"* album) with 50 plus other artists. *The Warning* got involved when a guy, who worked for *Alessia Cara* also did work for *The Warning.* Suggested both do a collaboration. That collaboration is up on RUclips at the official music video. *Metallica* had one stipulation. Artist can do what they want but cannot change the lyrics.
*Alessia Cara* can be heard with the high Wooooo oooo woooo's. Her vocals are on the backing track.
*The Gibson Explorer:* Current *Skid Row vocalist Lzzy Hale* gifted the white explorer to Dany during *The Warning's* opening set at Irving Texas back in the summer of 2022. When *The Warning* opened for the bands *Pretty Reckless* & *Halestorm.*

Dany's playing a Gibson Explorer custom built to her specs and gifted to her by Lzzy Hale, mid set while waiting for her guitar tech to swap her guitar out, was an awesome moment!
The pure joy on Dany's face when Lzzy came out is one of the many reasons I love this band.

This song is actually track 1 on The Metallica Blacklist album. I don't mean Enter Sandman, I mean this cover. Their cover was so good that Metallica gave it top billing on their 30th anniversary album, that's some serious praise.
You're also correct, Dany is playing a Gibson Explorer like Hetfield played (he's now endorsed by ESP guitars). This particular Explorer was a gift from Lzzy Hale, singer, guitarist, and frontwoman for Halestorm. She's a Gibson artist and plays Explorers exclusively. She had this one specifically made for Dany and gifted it to her live on stage during a tour. The Warning were touring with Halestorm as their openers at the time.
I had reached the point of "Enter Sandman" overload years ago then this came out and I can't get enough of this version!
This rendition is a masterpiece. No need to say more.

I really get the feeling that The Warning is building a momentum right now that should see them properly explode in the next 12 months.

All 22 songs from this concert are freaking awesome. It was Ivan Chavez' first effort filming and editing a concert for The Warning. Audio for the video was mixed by Pau's drum teacher, Beto Ramos, who also plays drums for Pau while she sings *Narcisista.* Watch any or all of it, whether on your own or reacting. It's worth the time.

The fact that they came up with an idea for this cover, wrote it and recorded it in practically a week, in order to meet the crazy deadline for Metallica's Blacklist album, makes it even more impressive.

That is Alessia Cara on backing track vocal doing the 'whoa whoa whoa' part as she collaborated with TW on this song. There is also a music video of this which is great and you get to see Alessia in it singing the first verse. One of the best versions of this song.
This is one of, if not the best renditions of Enter Sandman that I have heard. The Warning totally rocks. Never thought I would think a cover of this song would be better than the original, but I absolutely do. Love your reaction, guys. Keep up the great work.

The song Mercyful Fate that Metallica did on the Garage Inc. album is very hard to beat as far as covers go. That is 11 minutes of pure awesomeness.

I'm sure that someone has mentioned before but, the guitar that Danny is playing was gifted to her by Lizzy Hale about 2 or 3 years ago, so that guitar has its own history and, with time, will be priceless!

The Warning just finished doing a three venue concert in Japan and they did a collaboration with Band Maid and they performed the new song with Band Maid and it will appear in the new band maid album. The other two concerts they appeared as headliners.
Absolutely fearless. This is how you do a cover. Love when bands are not afraid to make it their own version, especially when it's one of the most recognized metal songs in the world.
Before Ticketmaster and Live Nation, there was nothing like lining up at Tower Records late at night/early morning to secure that great ticket!

Fun Fact: This is actually the first track on the 30th anniversary Blacklist album by Metallica. The girls got together with Alessia Cara, a pop artist from Canada via numerous Zoom calls to work on this, since it was during the 'plandemic', and Alessia couldn't travel to Mexico, and vice versa. Eventually her manager? traveled to Mexico with the footage of Alessia's video and audio part for the official music video, and they cleverly projected her parts on the walls as they stepped through the video, and it looks amazing! Y'all really should check out the OMV if nothing else, for reference!😉👍👍👍

I've just have seen The Warning Live! I can only say, WOW! I enjoyed VERY much!! I'm gone see them again in August! If you can get to a concert, it's a must see preformance!! You will not be disappointed.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

That great tone you hear in Pau's toms is something she does. She tunes the toms a certain way and puts cotton balls in the toms to get that sound

They already took a classic metal song, reimagined it, and actually made it better. I'm not even lying. I actually like this version more than the original.
