Damn, I just watched the Infantry video 3 hours ago and was like: "I'm absolutely looking forward to the vehicles!" Now I'm trying to get some sleep, and now this appears. XD Thank you for these comprehensive, easy-to-follow videos!
Regarding destroying buildings, since you bring it up a lot, it’s important to remember that buildings save on 2d6, which means that even for the weakest building they get a save up to AP -8
Ah brilliant, so they'll usually be hard to take down but every so often they can roll low. So that -8 AP will be important but it's still possible the defence will roll snake eyes.
So i'm staring at the rules and have (personally) find a reason to use sponson mounted heavy bolters. Since lascannons don't cost extra, i just can't really see any. This of course is subjective, but while point defence and increased rate of fire are (kind of) wasted by the worse chances to hit and Light rule (comparing this to lascannons, since those are common to all/most vehicles). This might have been different, if the tanks had multiple sponsons, but this is not how i read the vehicles stats: it just says heavy bolters or lascannon. But maybe i misinterpreted this.
I was going to try teleport the terminators in and see how it goes. I do have a Thunderhawk in Black Templar colours so I guess I'm running a Templar brethren Imperial Fist army. I'm thinking dropping 8 tactical bases will let me Garrison buildings early.
I’d personally just deep strike terminators in. The jet pack rule for assault marines seems way better suited for a Thunderhawk as it doesn’t need to drop into hover mode like it would for terminators. Have 8 assault marines as well right now but hoping to eventually bump it up to 12.
I know the price points are super premium. 2 Baneblades for $50+ Tax is absolutely fucking absurd on every possible level. That means for a full 6 tank unit.. thats $150, for 2 units ... $300. Ive bought entire 40k ARMIES for $300... nevermind 2 units. This is by far the biggest example of how GW has lost its fucking mind I have ever seen. Thankfully.. my 3d Printers are working absolute overtime right now. The day I pay 50 fucking dollars for 0.10 of plastic is the day you'll find me on the roof of the empire state building singing "I believe i can fly."
I guess I see where they are coming from. The model definitely has two sponsons so why wouldn't the weapons? I think it's safest to go with the profile. For example the Sicaran says "Sponson mounted heavy bolters" as an option and has a profile for "Sponson Mounted heavy bolters" with 2 dice, so we roll 2 dice. As I mentioned elsewhere, I am interested in the Kratos though where they list "Two Hull Mounted heavy bolters" but the profile is "Hull Mounted heavy bolters".
@@optimalgamestate Depends on the wording. I do not yet have a rulebook so just looked at the online army builder and it lacks the plural in the weapon profiles.
that with the Kratos? If I said sponsons I should have said Hull Mounted. That said, it's a weird one as normally the straight dice are in the weapon profile. In this case though, the weapon list specifically says "Two hull mounted heavy bolters or two Kratos lascannons or two Kratos autocannon" but the profile for each of those is an individual weapon.
@@optimalgamestateI do believe you mentioned the Sicaran having 6 heavy bolter dice. It has a total of 4 if you choose to have the sponson ones and the hull mounted one.
these flyer rules are terribly thought through. They sort of work for most of the planes, but it means stuff like the marauder bomber is incapable of bombing anything further than 24" away from the players board edge...
I do wonder if it was intentional. For the Maurader you can give it a march order so it will move 48" either from the back or an edge 8" from your deployment. That should let you bomb anything you want but to stretch to those far targets you do need to give up some of your extra shooting.
ah crap, that's a shame. After 3 days I've only got the dreads and a single squad of assault marines done >< It might be a while before I get around to building the Leman Russes
I'm glad they kept the Guard/Auxilia tanks as superior to the Marine ones. They may be the little guys, but they pack harder than anyone.
One of the best summary of the different types I have seen. Thank you.

great summary I am scouring the net for some Storm Eagles to drop Sons of Horus into the fray
Nice vehicle overview
Great stuff. Well presented, concise - thank you!
Great video! Nice to see that the Errata released on 04-DEC-2023 have already been applied.
whoever is working on legionbuilder.app is doing fantastic work

Marauder Colossus seems too good at destroying structures
@@23nacho23 it is still single use though, so it's very very good at destroying structure (singular)
Excellent video. Lots of food for thought there.

You have it right. The only real benefit is being able to split fire and target infantry with the h bolters.
I plan on using a thunderhawk with 4 terminators and 4 infantry deploying into the thick of it. Might get another to deploy 8 assault marines

Thunderhawk fireopower seems a bit low. has x4 times as many heavy bolters modeled as the stormraven but only the same amount of dice :-(
Killer content, keep it up!

There is a discussion about whether you get 2 sponson weapon profiles or 1.
tell me more!
@@optimalgamestate People are saying they do not know if the sponson weapons count as one weapon each or a weapon system.
I guess I see where they are coming from. The model definitely has two sponsons so why wouldn't the weapons? I think it's safest to go with the profile. Also, you get 2 dice between the heavy bolter sponsons, not two dice each.

Aha! Yes you are correct 4 heavy bolter dice.
Cool
The Sicaran's Omega Plasma Array in the Rulebook only has 1 Die
Good point - the Kratos also has a 2+ save in the rulebook.
Aha! that makes the two weapons a little closer. thank you
I can see legionbuilder.app has been updated since I grabbed the screenshots. I should have double checked in the book 😭

No way I'm paying £12 for a flying rhino. To printing we shall go.
you dont have extra turrets so no switching. or you have to magnatize
For which tank?
leman russ there are no extra turrets . only predetors and siccarians have extra turrets and the malcador has extra weapons

Can you buy a new mic? Sounds like you are using a can on a string.
Alas the mic is good but I think the room is bad. I’ll keep trying to work on it.
@@optimalgamestateall good bro. Sound is fine. The images and stats in video are way awesome
