It was a great game. Cerastus Knight Lancer and the Thunderhawk were my men of the match. Heavy Bolters on vehicles willing to go hell for leather are actually really attractive and Devastators are amazing firepower and reach per point. I will have more painted next time.
Here more for the batrep than the initial hobby content, but all of it was good. The batrep itself was very well presented, and much more enjoyable than the ‘two hours of dice-rolling cam’ that has been in vogue lately.
Thanks for taking the time to put together the batrep. I really enjoyed to pauses to review the graphical representation of the game state between rounds. Really helped me to appreciate the flow of the game!! Looking forward to more :)
nice battle! bloody as always! very professional display and presentation! myself I went with 3mm miniatures instead (from 3rd party), I think a game like this makes best with really small scale and large detachments. Also quite a bit friendlier to the wallet :)
Los is true line of sight except within same detachment don't block, obscuring terrain blocks period, flyers are seen always and small parts like guns and bases are ignored. But barring obscuring terrain if you can draw los to hull/infantry of enemy model you see it.
A "Contested" Objective is one where one player doesnt have double (or more) the Tactical Strength - eg 2 Leman Russ is higher than one Contemptor so the objective is the Solar player's but it is Contested and so would not score points in this mission. See page 103.
And for me every game i vary terrain. And to hell with symmetric terrain. Also for building i follow these rule of thumb: 1) some buildings but not are within 5" of another terrain(ie allow building hopping while shooting) 2) some objectives but not all(or any) have building within 3"
I haven't had an opportunity to play yet but I think I'd like a good mix of terrain some favouring infantry, and open terrain for vehicles and titans. I'm picturing a huge battlefield with a variety of terrain types.
There are lots of different versions, I got those ones from Sarisssa precision footsoreminiatures.co.uk/collections/bases/products/saga-movement-tray-set
It had to shift to a skimmer to drop off troops on turn one so it couldn't leave that turn. Both took off at the end of turn two and kept leaving and coming back to line up shots.
@@optimalgamestate "This happens before Flyers are removed from the battlefield and as such, the model will be removed as normal" From hover rule. After disembarking plane has hover rule. You can simply lift off and immediately leave. Haven't seen anywhere rule requiring to wait a turn

Terrain in wargaming is underrated. It is everything in wargaming. You can change the feel of any board game by the terrain. Glad u brought it up.
Oh and more legions reports tyvm!

I thought it was a great battle report. Thanks for sharing. Hoping yoy have more on the channel.

Excellent game, I am excited to get into Legions. I didn't realize how deadly the game can be, especially with the knights.
Same!
Got my box but am moving house so no room for games yet. 😭
Nice info graphics! A cool take on BR's
Terrain is really important and definitely should be varied! I like playing LI on dense city scapes, just because it looks really, really cool.

Battletech terrain used in a Warhammer (Legions Imperialis) game! Love to see it.
Mine will be as well

Terminators coming in Deep Strike can be at any stage of the phase, only Reserves that are not coming in have to be left to last.
Really cool 👍
Where did you get the holders for the bases? Great way to organise them minis, would love them for my won army ahahah

one rule everyone seems to miss is p101 paragraph 2 "a model...but
P101? Mission selection page. What rule are we talking about? Can't stand top of objective?
Sparse terrain. Amount might be okayish but foot print are quite small.
Maybe i misunderstood but did t1 thunderhawk stay on board? Of course it can but it can also take off and leave board

Huh, you're correct! I'm not sure where we picked that up from.
