Yet again, you have out done yourselves. The videos are great, both on the ground and in the air. Roger does a fantastic job with his narration as well. Can't wait for the next one!!

Thank you for the history of the Oatman's. I knew of the massacre but didn't know enough about it. You did a great job with the aerial and land documentary of the area and the history. It's funny, you live here all your life and don't see a lot of the beauty and historical sites that make up the Arizona history.

Thanks Scott. So true. We sure are seeing Arizona from a different perspective now as we learn more and more about its history. Hope to share more of it in our videos

You guys are amazing! Not only great flights and filming but wonderful info about our state and history. I had heard of the Oakman Massacre but knew nothing about it...until now.

Thanks for the story. You are both so expert at editing too. Background music but one can still separtate the narrative. Many can't seem to keep that volume down. Seems to have had some turbulance out there that kept your altitude up a bit. Can't wait to visit and see some of what you have seen.

Music is always hard to get right. It can really set the mood but I know what you mean when it gets too loud. Thanks for your comments and thanks for watching.

A very tragic story but part of our history, thanks for sharing hadn’t seen the sites you’ve shown here. Very interesting and a great flyover as well.

A fantastic birds eye view perspective. You gave us a glimpse into the past, and the hardship and tragedy of their lives. Olives mom's maiden name is Sperry, I am related to Olive through her mom's Sperry line. We share the same ancestor grand parents who are Richard and Dennis Sperry. Olive and I are 8th cousin 3 times removed.

Hi Steve. Thanks for watching. The Oatman's were amazing people all the way around. That is so cool to have a relative watch this video. I was wondering where all of the relatives ended up. Knowing this area like i do, I am amazed that any of them survived. Lorenzo made an amazing journey back to get help and really was amazing at locating his sister. Please share this video with others that you might think they would enjoy seeing the area from air. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Roger Larson.

We just finished a video on Larson adventures called Journey back in time, Fortaleza Indian Ruin. The Oatman's would have passed right by this place but probably didn't even know it was there. You might like watching that video as well.

@@larsonadventures580 To endure all that and all for nothing. Didn’t reach their destination, and most died horrible deaths. Even the children which is terrible. For the ones who survived and taken slaves, I’m sure they wished they had just been killed. Horrible story.

Can you imagine the days of Frustration..Stress..Helplessness & Hopelessness they All experienced on a day by day basis!!??..Just looking at the Landscape (from your top of the World vehicle).. left me feeling despair empathy for them!! They didn’t even have “that perspective!!”..
Idk WHY they diverted from the “Group!” Surely.. They would have known it’s “safer” with more than on your own??!! (Safety in numbers)! Surely!! They would have considered they would be “targets”‘among the Indians!! & discussed this before they tore say from the Protection of the other settlers!! I can’t even imagine taking this journey being pregnant & with little ones to take care of!! Diapers..food..& sickness to think about!! The hot Sun..lack of provisions..& just trying to get across this desolate unending route!! What a Horror Story!! Rest In Peace!!.. All the Oatman Family!!💔😭🙏🙏🕊🕊

I agree. I really for for these people. Being there and also flying over it really brings me back in time to feel like i can imagine their despair. The group they were in fell apart because of disagreements. At Maricopa the last group stayed i partly think it was because of fear of running out of food. Mr. Oatman believed in his journey and probably felt a bit trapped between moving and and staying. The Indians in Maricopa were very helpful to these original settlers. The food was in limited quantity because of a drought at that time. I have flown over Maricopa to see if I could find Maricopa Wells (Google it) but didn't see much. Pima Butte is nearby and suggest you google that as well. Amazing history if you ask me. I do feel a great respect for these people and am amazed at their stamina. Lorenzo (the son) amazes me as well. I can't imagine what these poor girls went through. Having to live at first with the people that killed their family and being taunted by them.

also important to recognize that a vast number of native americans took the lives of early settlers...but that is not politically correct is it?
