Same concept as in MKBHD's tour when he was talking about how getting a specific zoom shot is what makes him stand out in a crowded YT space, but that's not it at all, people watch for the personality. I feel like he might be sensitive to the idea that he might be perceived as an out of touch millionaire, when at heart he's just a nerd that loves talking about tech, and has found financial success in doing it. Gerald just casually mentioned in 2 seconds what I hadn't known about T stops until today (haven't had the need to). "T stop means they're actually measured for light transmission and not the size of the hole."
If only all tutorials were as understandable to the point as that.

In the clandestine world they tell you "live your cover" which is the same principle behind Linus' decision to use hats and props for things. It demonstrates that he has some level of investment in understanding a product, and it builds the ambiance.

This is one of the largest reasons I like watching LTT. Linus despite it all is still a down to Earth guy with a down to Earth team.
You see it in stuff like this. Where someone comes in to talk about their setup and he isn't cutting it to the extreme just to look good. Even other people saying something different than him is put in. They can talk without being reprimanded.
It builds up that trust and I appreciate it. Thanks you guys!
