Man, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, I bought some chinese glasses that were supposedly certified but their certificate looks quite strange, i'm returning them to buy these!
How can you tell if the Soluna glasses you bought are legitimate? Do they have a barcode aside from the Iso 12312-2 statement? Should you be able to see a bare lightbulb with them indoors?
Looking point blank directly at a bright light, you should barely be able to see it, or possibly not even that much depending on the brightness. Outside in bright sunlight, I can't see anything at all until I look directly at the sun. The film should also be black on the inside and silver on the side that faces the sun.
Yes, that's the proper way to do it. Eclipse glasses go over your regular glasses, so light from the sun hits the eclipse glasses first, then hits your eyeglasses lenses, and then finally your eyes.
Bought these off Amazon, literally just went outside to try them. Spectacular.
Thank you so much for this review. Makes me more comfortable wearing my soluna glasses my fiancé just gave me

These Soluna ones are made in the USA too!
These are the ones I used to see the eclipse today
Amazing experience, right? I drove 3.5 hours down and 5 hours back to be in the center of the path of totality today. Totaly worth it!

Thank you so much for this review as I bought Soluna glasses and I also wanted to know if I could use my regular glasses with them. Many Thanks !
Glad I could help! NASA has a resource page for eclipse safety from 2017 if you have more questions too: eclipse2017.nasa.gov/safety#
I cant see anything with these when not viewing the sun
That's how they're supposed to work. Otherwise they'd be letting enough visible/UV/IR light through to damage your vision.
