Running my DIY RC F1 boats:
835mm Cozy F1 T800
6S brushless setup
SSS 3674 1650KV motor
43mm 1.6 pitch 'golden' prop
580mm Cozy F1 Tunnel
4S brushless setup
Turnigy 2865 2800kV motor
34mm 1.6 pitch prop

I've had those days, more than i care to count. Did you lose your high rake prop? I imagine they have that lower unit designed to where the shaft is retained once the cable breaks.. Gotta be a way to upgrade the cable size Great video. BG4L

I've seen your bad luck days, BigB. I think you blame the Gremlins right 😄👍. Luckily, the prop shaft always retains in the leg, with the TFL large outboard. The prop is still there..
Upgrading the shaft will be difficult, because that leg is entirely CNC machined aluminum. I might make my own outboard leg one day 😎

Hi DJ, I'm wondering: On average, how many runs can you make with a flex-shaft before it breaks? And also, how you recover your boats when they're stuck in the middle of the water - do you have a RC recovery boat? Keep up the good work my friend! 👍

Hi Remco, the flex shaft life varies a lot. I broke one after 2 minutes and others last 15runs.
It also depends on the prop. The bigger and more pitch, the more stress on the flex shaft.
I do have a recovery boat, but this time I used a fishing rod 😎
