    RC boat build tutorial.
    This 50cm or 20" Mono hull is easy to build, even for entry level hobbyists.
    But it will be a performer! The first speed goal is 50km/h or 30mph, but we will upgrade it lateron and try to beat 80km/h or 50mph.
    In this part 1, we start with cutting the bulkheads. We setup the bulkheads on the build board, and we skin the boat.
    The drawing will be available for free, end of June.

    Yes trial and error for the weight versus rise is worth wasting some product and an area for it to expand out of a big opening is important.
    If you can do it with the deck on it is stronger because the foam sticks to both the hull and deck but even if it’s done to the deck and sanded then the hull and sanded and the 2 pieces have a gap between them when joined it’s still way strong, doing it this way allows the foam to completely go all the way around the deck including the sides.
    It can be carved once dry as well.

      @@CozyRC Yeah, I built my hull in a similar way to you with ply sheets, but I started with a deck to define the shape and then cut access holes in the deck. I didn't use CAD software. And I was painting the internal wood to waterproof it. Maybe I will add polystyrene into the cavities to add buoyancy in case of accidents? Anyway, look forward to your updates.

      @@CozyRC Speaking of speed tests. I got myself a speed tracker like your. Neet thing (tested it with my RC buggy). On the T-800 front... I just got a freelance contract. It have been 16h days 7 days a week. Damn freelance jobs getting in the way of my boat builds! 😡Well I've been "unemployed for 4 months"... so better not complain too much. 😩 But I have the studio all ready. I send you some photos soon. If you fill all the left over unused space in it with 2 part polyurethane expanding foam it will be virtually indestructible.

      Hi James, Thanks for the tip. I heard some good results, especially regarding hull strength. But I also heard from a Dutch RC boaters, who destroyed his hull with it. He already pit the deck on, so that might be the cause.
      I will consider it for sure!

    • @peteroosterhoff8850
      @peteroosterhoff8850 2 месяца назад +1

      I personally would be careful with foam. Maybe get some extra info about it. Especially if it is totally water resistant and or doesn't suck up moisture. It is off course strengthening and floatation at same time. If you use it, maybe consider to ducttape (or something else) the hull during the expansion off the foam because its very strong...

    This is a very fun project that you did, and I appreciate that you are sharing it! I’ve been looking for something to do this summer now that I’m taking a break from school. I myself am an RC enthusiast, and I’m slowly getting into RC boats.
    Quick question: How did you print the build plans so big on paper? Did you go somewhere to print it on a specific size?

    • @CozyRC
      @CozyRC  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks, good to hear you like it 👍. The plan should be printed on A1 paper size. You can go to a print shop, or print it on multiple smaller paper sizes and glue them together. Some PDF readers have that option.
      This is a fun boat to build, and not too expensive. It would be a great summer project (just as I build it right now).

    What adhesive did you use to attach the bottom and sides to the frame ?

    • @CozyRC
      @CozyRC  Месяц назад

      I used wood glue, because it allows you to slide- and tape the pieces in place, before it cures. Then, I sealed it with epoxy resin, to make the hull water tight.

    Wat voor soorten lijm heb je gebruikt voor de boot

    • @CozyRC
      @CozyRC  24 дня назад +1

      Ik gebruik secondelijm voor het lijmen van de ribben en houtlijm voor het plaatwerk. Het best gebruik je waterbestendige houtlijm. Om de boot waterdicht te maken, gebruik ik lamineer epoxy. Daar kan je ook blanke lak voor gebruiken, zoals Ruwa jachtlak uit een blik, of Motip clear varnish uit een spuitbus. Vergeet ook niet de binnenkant te lakken! ✌️
