Way back in my "Roadshow days", on tour with the band Boston, we had a coach driver who kept his Eagle bus sparkling for every gig we played. He had a whole "bag of tricks" to keep his ride at its finest. And it was definitely a challenge...that summer of '95, we did mostly "sheds"...small amphitheaters way-off the "beaten-path"...lots of "off-roading" in gravel and mud, just to get to the venues! As a manager at my place of employment that runs trucks and as a former owner/operator……Thank You!!!!A guy who treats a truck that “isn’t his own” like it’s his own is a rare find these days….and anyone who pulls an all nighter after a major snowstorm ….washes his truck at 6am and goes home to his family…sleeps for a bit then goes back at it all the while knowing that it’s gonna get dirty again…says it all. You rock man! You’re one hell of a good employee….but you don’t let that go to your head…you just take pride in your ride.

Good on ya for keeping that rig so clean all winter. I'm a fuel hauler in NH, white truck + white tanker.... It's been a nightmare the past few weeks, can't wash because it's too cold + all the brine and salted sand...
Great video as usual ..It reminds me of when my Father and I had our towing business. We would wash our trucks everyday in the winter and follow with a quick detail to remove salt in,out and under. In the summer we would wash maybe every other day and we would detail spray and de-bug them everyday in the summer.. Glad im not the only "crazy one"
They don’t make drivers like you anymore. I would argue with my drivers to remove there lunch bags and leftover food out of the cab! The cabs stunk of spilled coffee and old food! I was tired of that crap so when the guys were out with the trucks, I scattered the crap I took from the big trucks, into there personal pickups! They didn’t like that too much. I had a Mack Superliner dump truck with the upgraded interior R model and a White 9000 and they had crappy pickups, they got mad at me? Great work Mike. Thanks for sharing.
@@TheBostonTrucker Some people don’t understand, it was the way I fed my family, not just a truck! I also tried to create a good working atmosphere for the driver as well. The customers saw how well we kept our equipment, I think that got us a lot more work. I miss the Superliner.

Having a good looking truck is a major pain in the butt!!! I had one for two years that looked really nice so I had to wash it every time that it got dirty. It was an IH 5900i tri-axle and it took an hour to make it look good again, but thats what you do when you have a good truck.

Wow, I have never seen anyone use a brush on the aluminum wheels. Interesting! I was surprised, I thought I remember you being a foam cannon guy. I just tried chemical guys hydro suds ceramic last night. That is some impressive foam. I'm must have been at least an 1/8" thick layer of foam.

Porter Salutes to ya! 😎 My brother and I would spend hours at the end of the week washing the truck inside and out! He would come in from a trip and we would head to the garage to get dirty. That Ford W9000 was one beautiful truck when it was clean and he was the driver. Other drivers just didn’t take care of it and it went downhill quickly. So, my point is that “It pays to take care of your vehicle.” 😎 I’ve heard of the WD40 trick, but I’ve not used it on chrome. I use it on trailer tongues when they get dull. Yeah, you should clean the floor mats when you clean the truck. Gotta Take Pride In Your Ride! 🤩 Thanks for the tips! 🥰😎✌️
Been using WD-40 for years now on everything from chrome and aluminum and stainless steel to electrical plugs works great but u are right it's pain to clean off 🤣 but I think it protects it from all the crap the put on these roads every year caus up here in northern Indiana they use something that's liquid on the roads and it eats chrome and aluminum right up pits leaves a film that is extremely hard to get off so spray that on everything and it helps alot thanks for sharing Mike and she is looking good as always stay safe out there brother

Keeping the old W900 on the road for many more years. Salt snow slop is nasty stuff. WD40 is about the best stuff you could use, its a light enough spray oil. You could also use Pam cooking spray it might wash off easier.
Oh interesting! I never thought of PAM, doesn't it come out of the can yellow though? See the WD4O is clear so it doesn't look awful before the roads get wet.

I typically use a wash mitt on the wheels but when it's below freezing, I'm keeping my hands dry. I do use a foamer as well.

You should have all the aluminum sprayed with duro-bright. It will last a few years with no polish, easy to clean and the salt will not affect it.

Yes I am, had it turned down to 110 degrees but I also don't mind washing with cold water but it was below freezing outside.
