Thank you so much to the team for making such a brilliant short Movie on SEO - its history and overall. Yes, definitely - the future of SEO is bright!!!
I love this movie. So many people need this information, because you don't know what you don't know. We out here just making a website and thinking because we have a website then we are all set and people will find it. But that thinking is so wrong. It's a bit overwhelming but you put this movie together in a cool way
When I Started my SEO Career in 2006 , I heard many words from others as SEO - What is SEO and What SEO's will do.... How can earn money with SEO .....bla...bla.... Till today I am learning SEO from past 11 years now I can say to my world that ...YES ...SEO can do every thing with the Website promotions ...Product promotions .... Person promotions...and many things to do SEO to make happy my self ..... Thanks to all who are involved in this movie ( Video & Making ).... Happy to see this movie. Today I watched movie which is MY PASSSION .
I Love The Last quotes yes SEO never dies.... people always searching for something what they need.... and thank you for such a wonderful movie after watching this movie.... yes I want to become SEO analyst.....n I will be sure....
Awesome. I think we're due for a second SEO movie. So much has changed since that time, yet it seems like the same principles still apply now as they did in the past.
Hi Frank- I absolutely agree with you! Thank you for speaking up. Look, I can push aside that I am truly one of the pioneers of SEO. But I will not push aside that an entire group of SEO pioneers was overlooked. The folks at Multimedia Marketing Group (MMG) truly helped establish SEO as a genuine industry. John Audette, Bill Hunt, Marshall Simmonds, & Detlev (Disa) Johnson are some of the people that had a significant influence on establishing SEO. EVERY speaker at the first Search Engine Strategies conference was & is a pioneer. It isn't that hard to ask Danny Sullivan & Chris Sherman about these people. There are missing names in the history. There are names in that history that I wouldn't consider "historical" by any stretch of the imagination. What did people do that was & is truly groundbreaking? I know what Jill did. What about Heather-Lloyd Martin? She is a truly gifted speaker & copywriter. Including Jill without Heather is another oversight. Also, overlooking international (i.e. outside of the US) pioneers was a major oversight. At least label the video properly. Put "in the US" as part of the label...then it is more accurate. Ignite...you should have done better homework...really. I think you should show some respect for our international SEO pioneers & at least re-label this video. My 2 cents. Thanks, Frank, for speaking up.
thanks mate and couldn`t agree more. While being done properly it leaves out way too many people and facts to live up to its title. One might forgive a former writer of SEL/SEM to reach out to the people he did - and don`t get me wrong they were and are very much a crucial part of the industry. But leaving out the likes of Bill Hunt or Marshall Simmonds... I´ve been to the Y! party at the palms and I guess Brett Tabke made a crucial point - mentioning the conference in the conference. The clip seems to "only" cover the public version of things. Still a nice effort to cover a subculture that deserves coverage.
Cromwell Salvatera Hello fellow RUclipsr I agree with your comment I wanted to talk about Neil Patel as well but I just had so much to do. Yes look at CrazyEgg for instance or Kissmetrics.com for example.
SEO: The Movie. OMG. You get tickets, you're front of the line and then bam, the movie cinema penalises you and you're back at the end of the queue. And don't even think about getting a choc-top unless you provide a followed link back to the girl at the concession stand....
We agree. It was a mistake and wish he would have had a bigger part. We reached out but he did not get back to us until the film was about to be produced. When he found out it was going live he gave us that great clip at the end. He is someone we greatly respect and even made it mandatory that our entire company read his book on linking and subscribe to his newsletter at one point. Eric is a legend.

Loved the ending especially, it's a perfect response to all the SEO is dead articles, humans will always be searching for something indeed.
same.. it's funny how people used to say it's dead just because a new update rolled out lol
a comment like that is the heart of seo and marketing lol ... ( for this video )
Outstanding ;) Too cool when your passion gets made into a movie. Loved it, thank you for making this an actual thing.

Brett, Danny, Barry, Jill, Matt and Rae - learned a ton from them all through the years.
Great Movie! Great to see the original pioneers in the industry! Many ah-ha moments. I enjoyed learning of the true founding pioneers of SEO.
A pretty sweet piece of SEO history.
This is awesome, we'll done and glad to something that has all of the pioneers in one video.
Awesome!! I owe all you guys so much! Thank you!!
History showcasing history. Awesome!
I Love The Last quotes yes SEO never dies.... people always searching for something what they need.... and thank you for such a wonderful movie after watching this movie.... yes I want to become SEO analyst.....n I will be sure....
Very nicely done. Thanks John for pulling that all together. I enjoyed watching it.
Thanks for making this. The nostalgia is real.
This movie makes me feel proud of being an Internet marketer.
Just brought back so many memories with so many friends! Well done!
It was really awesome. Was expecting Brian dean to be a part of it. Otherwise Rand's story was motivational and very interesting. Loved it
Thoroughly enjoyed it - Great job
Great movie!
Thank you!
Finally some documentary/movie that can be helpful for lots of people who want to understand the history of SEO industry.
Awesome, so nice to watch :) after I start watching, I simply can't stop ;)
Great video everyone! Wow that brings back some memories. I think I've had a beer with most of you at some point while at a conference.
Great video guys! Keep up the interesting articles and videos.
Awesome. I think we're due for a second SEO movie. So much has changed since that time, yet it seems like the same principles still apply now as they did in the past.
Maybe this could happen in the future!
Where have you been? Thanks for this movie. I will have to look at this again. Next, its the social media movie.
Haha im right here I live in RUclips
Awesome, congrats on a good job!
Lovely to See all my SEO Mentors, Nice Movie Covered really well all what happened and what search industry went through, Cheers
Its really nice!
How many more name drops can you fit into 30 mins?
That's how it felt like. I would have preferred less name-dropping and more time spent on what's working now.
interesting to see where it all started from someone who was late to the game. well done.
Excellent !!
Is the future of search to continue to be found when and where it counts or (and this is a marketing question) to be SEARCHED.
Can you clarify this question?
Awesome!!
interesting piece but not The History of Search by any stretch.

Search Usability What can you teach a newb like me about SEO?
Thanks.
How will strong AI affect SEO?
hello dear
Hello
Pardon my naivete, Neil Patel is not mentioned anywhere in the movie. I thought he was one of the most trusted SEO in the world.
Many felt he falls into another bucket of digital marketers. More on the CRO side.
So is Jeff Bullas. I read his blog regularly.
Cromwell Salvatera Hello fellow RUclipsr I agree with your comment I wanted to talk about Neil Patel as well but I just had so much to do. Yes look at CrazyEgg for instance or Kissmetrics.com for example.

Good stuf!
Thank you!
Thanks for mentioning our CEO Eric Enge, a true pioneer of the industry, but his last name is pronounced with a hard "g" and sounds like EN-guh
Thanks, Mark Trapha'j'en.
nice to remember :-)
Wow. SEO saves Rand Fishkin. I didn't know that.
How will AI affect SEO?
This is not a movie. It is a documentary. Nobody is acting. They are commenting on their experiences.
Thanks for the feedback
it's great because it's all about passion.
rather than telling what you guys did, you could create it as story like hollywood and shoot everything as story perspective.
The history of google
SEO is dead. Great blast from the past movie! When is the Inbound Marketing movie coming out?
Not including Eric Ward’s contribution to the industry in this video greatly reduces its legitimacy.

this is not the high level SEO stuff...don't fool yourself for a single second. these are just google propaganda advocates...
SEO is cancer. Like spam marketing and similar shit.
Strongly disagree
