I really enjoy fusion recipes. It’s that little bit of unexpectedness in the first bite, when your mind deceives you because you’re expecting something else, 😋 Happy Sunday! 💕
You make it.look. so..simple. and easy. And fast. Getting. It. On. The. Table. Good. Job
I’m really happy that after all these years, that you still bring us instant pot recipes. Nom nom nom!!!
Happy Sunday.....Flo, Dude, kids and kitties, hoping you all have a blessed day. Thank you for another wonderful cooking video👍👍 yum
Absolutely cannot wait to make this later today and again will be called the neighborhood chef, right away I give your information but I don’t mind taking a little of the credit!
Dude is such an elegant taste tester, love it! He does a very good job of making everything look so good. I am now going to but an insta pot . I've just received may wok and your cook book. So excited. My husband has loved me finding your channel and how you've inspired me to cook after 36 yrs, of him doing the cooking. You guys rock. . .
From a guy that learns how to cook by watching Utube, I appreciated you sharing the detail. Now I know why to do this and that. Hi from East Tennessee.
Flo seems so nice and kind. I hope Dude treats her well.
As usual, another recipe knocked out of the park!!!! Thank you to both of you.
Thank you Flo! This will be our dinner soon!
This turned out so delicious! Thank you, Flo! Family devoured it. Goes well with jasmine rice and kimchi.
Looks amazing!!
Yum! Thank you for sharing ☺️
Looks yummy! Will definitely try this! 😋😋😋
Dude's descriptions are the best. Makes me want to cook!
That looks amazing!
This dish looks so good, thank you 😊
Simple but brilliant.
We made this tonight and it was super tasty! Thanks for your recipe!
Will try this today Flo. Thank you. Love to the family❤️
Can’t wait to try it!
Dude, you’re making me hungry! I also love a pickle with my pulled pork. Thank you both for your videos.
I love your recipes. Tqvm for sharing
Making this today! That you Flo Lum❤️
Makes my mouth water!
thanks for sharing!
Wonderful flavor! This in a veggie wrap and the cucs with drizzled sauce comes next. Flo my cooking has gotten so much easier since I got the Oxo gravy/fat separator that flows from the bottom. Amazingly there's never even a single drip from the bottom. Perfect for greasy meats. The screened top keeps my sauce smooth too. Thanks for this terrific recipe.
Would be great in steamed buns! Just remembered that pickled radish would be great also.
Luckily for me, I have all the ingredients at the ready! It’s happening for tomorrow’s dinner, so thank you and 👍 in advance, Flo!
Awesome!
I freeze cubed and browned meat for quick meals. It is very handy, and speeds things up quite a bit.
Made this last night, came out really good 😀
Try mixing the oil into the meat when you add your salt , this ways you don’t have to worry about your oil drifting over to the side of your pot
This looks SO good! I think a hoisin variety would be good too
FABULOUS
awesome video Flo @ Dude, but next time i get to do ( The Taste ), have a safe an healthy week, God bless you and your Family always...
Good morning Flo. I made this today and loved it. I have your cookbook. I had to substitute the rice vinegar since I didn’t have . I used Champagne vinegar. Not sure if that makes a difference. But I totally enjoyed it. I loved the star anise flavor. It was just enough, not overwhelming. I will freeze portions of it since I am cooking for myself. Blessings to you and your beautiful family.❤️❤️❤️
Made this and put it on corn shells with some pickled red onions! It was amazing
I have several pork butts in my freezer and now I know a different way to cook it instead of my hubs usual hours-long smoked butt! This sounds so good!!!
I love your channel. Tip, transfer your Oyster sauce into a squeeze bottle. Makes it so much easier to extract.
I’d love to try that pork in a bao! That sounds sooo good!!
De-li-ci-ous!!!!!! Thank you!
Well, this is going in our meal plan this week!!!
We made it for supper tonight and had it with rice and steamed broccoli (plus some kimchi for me). Thanks Flo!
Flo & Dude, don't fear the _good fat_ (other than the unstable industrial seed oils). Stable, natural fats (saturated & some mono-unsaturated) are good for you. Also dietary fat _does not_ adversely impact serum cholesterol, although they are a bit calorie dense.
Have you seen my channel? 😉 Definitely don’t fear the fat but also, everything in moderation is key.
@@FloLum certainly I have, for years. But you two occasionally admonish us (each other?) about skimming they fat off dishes; e.g. in this video Dude said "... not good for your body." That's not so, but I know what you're saying. 👍
@@FloLum ...and _everything in moderation_ >an old Julia Child-ism< misses the point about foods that are good for profits but bad for health
Oh mine, Flo you read my mind, just got back from grocery, bought a huge block of pork shoulder just because it is on sale, was wondering what I am gonna do with it, and here’s your recipe comes in handy, love you for your simple no fuss recipe, though sometimes I modified a little bit to pair with whatever I have in the fridge, but 90% turns out pretty good, thank you 🙏 👍🥰
So glad you get my way cooking… use what you have and like! Thanks so much, Lily! 😘
I want to try that on steambums must taste so good
I don’t have a instant pot, only have a gas pressure pot. May I know if the cooking time is the same over the gas stove?
Help need advise how to cook soft cell crabs, 9 of them.
Flo Lum YUM!
I saw a hack for fat removal, use an ice cube. It freezes the fat into flakes. Yours might be too hot but it was cool.
Another yummy looking meal! Glad you’re using the Instantpot...I’m still not that comfortable using mine.
Hope all is well with you & yours. Xxoo
😘
@@FloLum 😘
Hi Flo, Dude and family. Pork, pork, pork I am in heaven. LOL
LOL! Hope you’re having a lovely day, Myrna! 😘
@@FloLum cold and rainy in the city, I am having sushi for dinner so very happy. 😊💝
Vietnamese version of this pork is called Thit Kho. We use fish sauce instead of soy sauce.
Ooh, this in a bao...I am hungry!
Fatto oggi, eccezionale. Grazie
I want to cook this but I'm only 1 person and 3 lbs would be just too much. How much should I reduce the spices & cooking time for 1 1/2 lbs?
That looks so fucking good
Ooh this looks good, throw in a boiled or fried egg...
If I reduce or omit the sugar, will it make a huge flavor difference.
Also, Flo, i highly suggest getting steam spout. It makes it a bit less scary
The sugar balances the flavour so I recommend reducing or sub with another sweetener but you really don’t want to use any, just beware that it will be much saltier and no hint of sweetness at all.
@@FloLum thank you! I may try it as is the first time and then mess with it the next time. I'm type 2 diabetic, so i have to decide whether I'm eating rice or sugars. Tbh I'd much rather msg be used in recipes that switched out sugar for msg. Though, it sounds like the sugar has a purpose in this recipe.
@@xandraj5487 Xandra, since you have type 2 diabetic, you might want to try basmati rice.
This looks so YUM! Can I substitute Hoisin for Oyster sauce? I'm allergic to shell fish... :-(
Oyster sauce and hoisin have two very different flavour profiles. If you are not using oyster sauce, just sub with 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce, if you have or omit all together.
@@FloLum thank you! I used hoisin as a substitute for oyster sauce in Panda Express's Mushroom Chicken and the taste was very similar, although the recipe has a lot of garlic and ginger, so that may have had something to do with it. I'll try it with the dark soy! :-)
If you don’t mind the difference, don’t listen to me! LOL!
@@FloLum I'll try both ways and let you know 😁
hi..!!!...your recipes are so good, simple to comprehend...am just a new subscriber here and am trying to catch up with your vlogs, but have already tried some of your recipes...you're great..!!!!..from the philippines here..!!👌👌👌👌👌
What if I don't have an instant?
Looks great Flo, but I don't have an instant pot. My husband got me one for my Birthday because I was always complaining when I watched so many video's using them that I didn't have one. Well we did the test they recommend and it failed (plus it scared me half to death) so back to the store it went. I'm 73 years old and I think I'll pass on the pot. Any other way I could make this, slow cooker, stove top, or oven? Thanks for sharing the recipe and have a good day.
You can definitely do this using a Dutch oven. Follow the browning steps on the stovetop. Instead of pressure cooking, preheat your oven to 300°F. Add 2 additional cups chicken broth or water to the Dutch oven. Cover and transfer to the oven and bake for 2 hours, remove the lid and cook for another 30 minutes. Remove and shred the pork while reducing the sauce on the stove top. Hope that helps.
@@FloLum Why add the 2 additional cups of broth when using the oven?
@@FloLum Thank you so much Flo, great instructions.
I find I do better browning meat in my cast iron frying pan, then put it into the Instant Pot. I then deglaze the pan with whatever liquid I shall be using.
👍⭐💖
😋😋😋🥰😍🥰😍🥰
Hi Flo, i saw you on America's Test Kitchen. Are you a professional chef?
Alas, that is not me. I’m just a mom fixing up simple tasty meals for my family. 😊
You make me so sad & hungry!!!!!!!!!#
