So is there a reason you didn't use a blender for those onions in the sauce? Any storage life issues like that? Also, make beer battered cheese curds. Do it.
@@Leatherface42O Quite a bit of salt in the seasoning. It would only be on the surface if it did get anything and get killed anyways in the cooking process.
I've been making an almost exact copy of this recipe for about 15 years. Except in the rub instead of using chipotle, I add maple sugar, and I also add red pepper flakes. For the barbeque sauce,no chipotle, but add NH maple syrup, and diced McIntosh apples. You just have to add the apples after you strain the sauce, otherwise they lose their consistency, you dont want them cooked, just peel and core them first. Try it on pulled pork, you won't be disappointed. With the coleslaw on top it's a kaleidoscope of flavors, and textures on your tongue. Yummy for your tummy.
Just keep it coming
if it takes you 17 years to make one dish, maybe cooking isn't for you

@@shaneguerin2024 that’s what I was going to say. There’s no real recipe, it’s your choice.
It shouldn't take 17 years to make a sandwich.
All my ingredients keep going bad so I have to restart.
everytime i was ready to make it, i didn't have an ingredient, and when i returned from getting it, all the ingredients qould expire. i would then start again and another ingredient would be missing. this cycle continued until i finally got all my ingredients after 17 years.
Ha ha ha ha (sarcastic laugh)
na but throwing some pork in the oven while you sleep and spending 20 mins on other prep to make 10 or so super bomb sandwiches isnt rocket science
😂😂😂
Thank you Sonny. Because of you, and other YT Chefs like you, I enrolled in Culinary School this week and start in July. Your passion and dedication have motivated me. Keep up the great work.

Hell yeah brother! Keep your head down and ask a lot of questions
actual restaurant cooking sucks :/ long hours into the evening get home late on your feet most of the time little time for your family work weekends and the customers don't know you or care about you. cooking mostly servants work and has always been that way. unless you're going to be a Michelin star chef or own your own restaurant don't even bother, seriously. get a 9 to 5 if you want to grind out a living so much better, otherwise pursue your passion.
let the excons, immigrants and dummies work restaurant kitchens.
guy in the video is working for himself he's not making someone else rich. he's not a restaurant chef so why he inspires you I have no idea. if anything he'd inspire you to be a youtube chef lol !!

I love how you always think of your viewers and understand that most of us don't have all the equipment that you have...
Great call on putting the onions back on. Slaw looks great. Very similar to mine. You don't have a proper pulled pork sandwich without cole slaw. Love seeing that. And thank you for not murdering the pork with a clever after it was pulled. It needs that body to it. As a serious BBQ enthusiast, I say well done!
For someone who’s been subscribed for about a year, watching the older videos of you absolutely wrecking the fridge 1 v 1; it’s an absolute delight. Thanks for the knowledge sharing, totally made a huge difference in my home cooking. Lots of love 🤘

Patty- small flat cake of minced or finely chopped food, especially meat.
Doesn't say fat anywhere. Only part that concerns me is the finely in finely chipped because this is pulled not chopped
Sebastopol is my hometown! What a small world!
Wasn't expecting the ice tray door slam fatality, awesome finisher. 👏

LMAO hilarious how you pulled the ice make and rammed it with the door! Epic!!! good stuff man
Never left a comment on RUclips before, but this guy is absolutely the best. Love his enthusiasm, energy and passion for what he does!
The carrot shredding technique was gorgeous
I made this last week and I must say it’s the best pulled pork I’ve ever tasted. It tastes amazing with or without the BBQ sauce. I’ve tried it in a sandwich, mixed into Mac and cheese, as a base under poached eggs, and mixed into corn casserole. All of them were fantastic.
Ollie is totes Adorable ❣ Poodles are just too cute!
Your videos are arguably the most entertaining RUclips cooking videos by far. I always come for the food but stay for the fridge punishment it gets me every time. LOL thanks man
Man this looks amazing! Extra points for making the slaw WITHOUT pickles!
I have been watching your longer videos recently and holy shit, such gold.

Absolutely love grilling pulled pork 👌👌👌
Love that you used an oven to make this. I don't have a smoker myself but I absolutely love pulled pork.. Can't wait to make it
If you’ve got a basic grill you can still get decent enough results. RUclips is full of videos for folks who don’t have space or money for a smoker. Just look up “Weber kettle” + whatever recipe you want.
My husband and I are from Tennessee and the first thing we did when we moved north was by a smoker because people up here don't know how real bbq tastes. Also, we missed it. We prefer to brine for at least 24 hours because it doesn't dry out nearly as much. We do a dry rub as well as a wet rub during the smoke. We have a whole system we've rigged to watch the temperature over night, and if we need to, we'll finish it in the oven. We always use a vinegar bbq sauce. I prefer a pulled pork sandwich with pickles and a vinegar bbq sauce.
I'm definitely making this. Can't wait to try it!!!!
Damn! That Dude can Cook!
Another good thing to do with pulled pork when you're on your 5th day of BBQ sandwiches and are hankering for a change: Cubanos! Even if you don't have the right kind of bread for it, and you only have cheap lunchmeat ham, you can still get 80% of the way there, and it's still delicious even with just dumb old toasted wheat bread.
Oooo that's a fantastic idea
Here at 999k subs , been subscribed for the longest time and it’s great to see how far you’ve come :)
Now that was passionate! I'm making this right now, but I'm putting it all on some Navajo fry bread, because I don't have buns right now. This video seriously inspired me!
I never put coleslaw on my bbq pork sandwiches until my mom told me about it. Best dang way to eat them and never going back to just pickles and bbq sauce. Gotta have more coleslaw.
I will have to admit as a former sous chef, you know your stuff brother. I will also have to admit the fridge beatings keep me watching as much as your recipes. Great job. Cheers from Manitoba Canada.
Nicely done I've been making that same 1 for 20yrs!😁
Word to the wise: I forgot the step of pouring liquid over it, and putting in a pot for resting, I just left it on the counter. The bark was hard as a rock. I was able to totally save it by mixing some of the barbecue sauce onto the meat and letting it rest, but I definitely won’t skip that step next time!
This guy is nuts! Crazy!!!
totally saving this for later!! Good of you cooking it in the oven showing that we dont need to have a smoker and other things.
love those flying knees to the fridge
When I started coming across your shorts on RUclips, I was like this dude can cook but he’s loud AF! Now I’m watching the whole videos and I actually enjoy them, great job bud!
I enjoy cooking and eating very much like you so I can relate👍🏼
If I hit my fridge the way you do, my wife would hang me LMFAO!
That looked delicious
I've recently graduated from the shorts to these full-length feasts - Bank Holiday weekend here so I'm binge watching, gorging and beating the fridge up.
Greetings from Liverpool.
I've recently found your channel and have enjoyed seeing your takes on things. With pulled pork sandwiches, it is more approachable to have a kitchen recipe. But I'm from NC transplanted to another state. Craving real pulled pork, I did get a smoker and honed my Eastern Carolina vinegar sauce and smoking techniques. I have a similar dry rub, which I spread with mustard and sit in the fridge all night. Then begin to smoke in the morning (using mix of hickory and apple wood). I'll still ear mark your BBQ sauce as a general one (I've converted all my friends that vinegar sauce is best for pulled pork).
Ur an amazing and inspiring chef sonny

I’m making this for the second time right now, made some adjustments to the sauce for my own liking but this is such a good value for the money. When you buy on sale a 3.5 pound roast can be like $10 and makes a dozen sandwiches. The slaw is perfect too. Seriously great video
Looks great 👍 Only thing I would do different is make the slaw first to absorb the vinegar and marinate a little longer.

Great vid Sonny, learning so much from them! Can you recommend a really good electric hot plate to cook on? Something I can plug up outside and cook steak on so it doesn’t set off the fire alarm in the house. Lol. Thanks man, keep up the vids, they’re great!
Has NOBODY heard of this before or am I hallucinating? The first time I had this sandwich was in 1992-1993, in a place in Atlanta called, "The Vortex". It was called, "The Rachel". No...I don't know why but it was a pulled BBQ Pork sandwich topped with slaw. Not saying that was the "original"...but this sandwich has been around forever...
The fridge abuse always makes me lmao 😂😂😂
