Porsche boxster s is a fantastic car in every way, it's extremely underrated, look for the prices of these vehicles to constantly increase in value, as more and more people realize it Porsche's hidden gem 💎
The Spyder is the best boxster ! The price for what you get is incredible !! The Spyder is rare, just unlike all 911 models. With the Spyder you can feel quite unique! Last but not least , Porsche is going electric with the new Boxster/Spyder generation: I am totally convinced that the anonymity of a "silent" Spyder is the strongest booster for the stable and even increasing Spyder prices.
@@MrSchn3llit’s not like Porsche want to stop petrol cars… ours kindly politics in European Union force them to stop petrol engine! It is a fucking disaster
Spyders discontinued + fastest manual ICE Boxster to date (and very probably ever) + Porsche MSRP up by 8% a couple of months ago and waiting for another bump by the end of the year. Prices will slightly grow forever IMO.
Boxsters are often a second car for most people, and the Spyder is often the third car for most people. I wonder if Spyder prices are up because the stock market has been on a rip higher and rich people who own three or more cars are almost always sensitive to stock prices. People often feel more comfortable buying new toys when their portfolio is up.
Looking for a Boxster and have been expecting a price drop based on your last Boxster video. Haven’t seen that and this explains that. Trying to hold off to winter when they are less favorable.
Just decided to order and managed to call around and find an allocation to order a Base Boxster for MSRP. Happy with the deal I got with others waiting years for theirs and paying dealer markups.
Thank you for producing such insightful analysis! Tragically I received bad news this week that I have cancer, and so find a need to clean up my finances including selling my 2022 Boxster GTS 4.0. I was wondering what site or information you would recommend for determining a proper listing price? My car has 12,000 miles is a white automatic one owner no damage ever with the LWBS, a full wrap, and Keyless Entry, but all else standard. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Joe in NY
The 2023 Spyder is the LAST ICE (internal combusion) and LAST manual transmission spyder ever, except for the RS, which is PDK only (no manual), and which will be incredibly rare. The price of the 718 Spyder is going to skyrocket in 2025 when all boxsters/spyders will be only electric.
I can appreciate these videos, but I would suggest to get someone from the industry to provide insight as well. The missing information is dealers (us as an example) can not replace cars easily right now. A large majority of cars that don’t sell because of bad build or condition will end up wholesaling to another dealer for almost retail! We purchased two high spec’d 981 Boxsters for retail and were able to sell for a profit because the demand is there for a well spec’d car still. The biggest factor I see that can substantially upset the car market is a full on recession, banks continuing to make lending more difficult, or a major supply influx of inventory. But with dealers being 7,000,000 cars short because of the pandemic it may not change anytime soon for this sector of the market.
Thanks for your input. I think it would be cool to include some dealer insights in the video. Would that be something you are interested in? My contact details are included in the video description.
I think / hope some of this is just a spring bounce. I need the 987.2 Spyders to come down another $10K so I can snag a bargain. Hope your predictions are wrong about their prices now going up. But we're not far from July 4th, which is the unofficial end of convertible season and makes it harder to sell one. I can even wait until winter to pick up my spyder, I'll just keep working on and enjoying my 928 S4 5-spd.
Thanks for the vid! There's a 981 Boxster GTS I test drove a couple days ago in my area which is selling for $69k - 14k miles, manual, sport suspension, Burmester sound, carmine red. Loved everything about it but can't seem to pull the trigger knowing i can get a 991.1S for similar money
The 718 spyder is great but for my use, too much. I wish I could find a 981 boxter S/gts at a price from 2020 for daily drivability, and unload my 718 Spyder to save some monthly cash flow. But now I’d rather keep my Spyder as the prices are stupidly obnoxious for the older cars.
Still lots of manipulation going on. I see dealers taking cars offline but they're still standing on the lots. And some manufacturers purposefully slow down production to create the impression of scarcity. Thing is, and they know this too, they can't keep that up indefinitely. Dealers have to sell a certain volume and manufacturers have to build a certain volume. At this point we're in a silly game of poker.
I think if fully loaded we’re already there. I paid 165k for a 22 silver manual, PPC, carbon bucket spec. I wasn’t the only perspective buyer. The car was only on the lot for 24hrs.
I was thinking the same, but an ICE version on a EV platform, I have some problems to imagine that. This cannot be compatible. Or they will continue to sell the present Boxster in parallel to the new EV Boxster. They have no clue about the market acceptance of EV Boxster, which is fact ist an absurdity.

The 718 Spyder is incredible….have had a 996.2 C4S…997.2 C2S and a 991.2 GTS…718 is my favorite…slap on an exhaust upgrade and you’re golden
I went from a gt3 to a 718 spyder with a soul exhaust. No question I wouldn’t go back to the gt3. The spyder is the best car I’ve ever driven.
Just a $250 valve controller is all you need on US models
@@cartergarnon6299say more why you say that?

Agreed and Porsche is making a HUGE mistake by going EV on their smallest sports car platform. Literally ZERO excitement from us owners on Rennlist.

All sports petrol cars will raise in price in the long term.
Very informative thankful for my 718 & your videos!!!
Thanks, Harlan, great work as always. I think the convergence of 986 Base and S values is just as surprising as the 982 Spyder value jump.

718 Spyder is now on the market with PDK and these cars cost 10.000 more.

Spyders are discontinued, that will be the reason
Yep. I believe the same.
Yup. Porsche no longer taking new orders for GT4 and Spyders.
Also, the Spyder will be considered the greatest(last) manual Spyder. The RS being PDK only.
How about 981 Spyder vs 718 Spyder?
AMG GT please! Thanks for the info.
Please analyzer Audi R8. 2023 is the last production and I heard dealer markup as high as $80k. The V10 is an amazing machine.
What role does seasonality play here? I would expect decreases in value during winter months for Boxsters across most of the US

Great content as always. Thank you for your detailed analysis 😃
I’m still curious what your source data is. I believe you but the analyst in me wants to take a look at the dataset :)
In the market for a 981 GTS. Any advice on how to think about current market for NA flat six GTS?

How About a video about the cayman market???

I drove the 2 and finally bought the BGTS : more fun, better sound, more space for luggages, really no regret !!!

T models discontinued too
Why the spyders charge premium for non-automatic roofs that require the drivers to stop the cars, and get out to put the hood up - horrid.
This barely apply to Thailand where a 891 prices at around 90k
I might be summer is coming and top down fun means a premium.
Indeed
Good stuff, thanks.
now we need a cayman update to compare :)

Name a 4 liter manual Porsche under $200k, now look at roofless ones…$175k Spyders are inevitable

ill just wait 2 more years to buy one, these prices are dumb
Looks like alot of people got it wrong. Porsche will continue to produce ICE boxster along with all electric boxster.

There seems to be many alternatives to a 10-15 year sports car. GR 86, GR yaris at the lower end and emira at the S/GTS
Dead cat bounce…
Most likely, yes.
