Good job, Emily:) I am from Sweden and I do remember buying the singel( german version) one hot summerday in 1983. One of my favorite songs and you did it wonderful:)
@Emily: Love your music, but love your self-confidence even more. If only every owned their power as you do. And with a touch of humility to polish it off, you rock girl. Love the Rainbow Song too.
Emily doesn't play guitar. That's a baritone ukulele. It only has 4 strings. She also plays a regular ukulele. And a LOT if other instruments. I play guitar. I really like Ibanez. They are really good quality, sound great, and don't cost that much. -Clark
@@Clarks-Adventure you should of give me a thumbs down for that ive been playing the guitar for 19 years and didnt click on it was a Ukulele 😅 I have quite a few videos of me playing it on my youtube from years ago. Really enjoying your videos just sent a link to my dad and told him its my aim to sail the world like you guys, who knows we might be able to jam one day 🎸 I actually watched Clarks video on investing months ago another inspiration. Take care, we actually have some sun in the UK today so im not too jealous 😂☀️🇬🇧
OK. You guys have just rocketed into the super-cool realm. Playing a ukulele is one of the most noble (and satisfying) things one can do. Out of curiosity, do what sort of wear and tear do you see on your uke(s) in salty humid conditions? Does Clark play too?
This is Clark. I play guitar. I have carried the same 6 string acoustic guitar on the boat for over 20 years. No problems with the instrument itself but I go through strings and cases(the zippers) quickly. I also recently replaced the tuning machines due to aesthetic corrosion. This guitar has gone from Seattle through the Panama canal to Florida out to Grenada and back. Ukes are tougher as they are smaller and have fluorocarbon strings.
This is Emily :) I have a fairly inexpensive $100 Kohala baritone ukulele (amzn.to/3aV4Kjd), which has been with me for 3 cruising seasons. I've also had a cheaper $50 concert ukulele (amzn.to/2w8aVSf) for two seasons. The metal parts definitely have some rust on them, and I carry a lot of extra strings. I keep both in cases, but a bit of rust is inevitable in the salty environment. If I were to buy another one, I'd go for a "Waterman" (amzn.to/3cRYcnk) or an Outdoor ukulele (www.outdoorukulele.com), which a lot of my cruising friends have. Both of these are pretty waterproof, come in multiple sizes, and are designed for more wear-and-tear!
@@Clarks-Adventure : Hi Emily - I am a Kala Dealer in CO... The waterman is a plastic uke and sounds real thin/toylike.. I would not recommend it for you... Stay with a good quality wood uke (all Kala ukes are good - I also love Teton's)... perhaps think about a "cheaper" (dollar-wise) uke - that typically has plastic tuners vs. metal tuners - to combat the rust... Curious how you give lessons - if you are playing a Bari Uke (tuned like a guitar) - when most have a soprano, concert or tenor uke - with standard tuning (G-C-E-A)... Looks like a "Boss" Looper pedal??... Nice!!
I have a concert uke that I have color coded for kids to learn on (I made a video about it on our channel) and I use that to teach, but if I need an extra uke, I also the baritone up 5. Thanks for the advice on the waterman. I have heard similar things. The looper is a Vox Lil Looper.
Just awesome! You are so talented!
Beautiful! Looks like such a nice atmosphere there

Awesome talent. You brought back some great memories!
Awesome... If your and Clark need to add to the cruising kitty, you could definitely succeed at busking. Very fun.

Amazing. What do you use to record you so quickly?
It's called a looper peddle. There is a link in the description. -C
Not on my playlist but awesome job and courageous. I won't sing outside of my shower or truck!
This song has been back in discussion now with all the spy balloons this week.
I guess it might be. Hadn't thought of that.

@@Clarks-Adventure Very cool. I play my Flea ukulele usually (I do have an Outdoor ukulele too). May you both have smooth & melodious sailing.
