Maserati's most expensive problem fixed (cheaply)!

- Today I tackle the replacement of the rear control arms, the most expensive issue that affect the Maserati 3200, 4200 and Gransport. This part is no longer available, and is badly designed resulting in a lot of very nice Maseratis going to the trash heap. So I solved that problem!

These arms look beautiful man! Another cracking video!
Great idea and very impressive. Actually sickening they can charge that much for garbage.
Great video! Are you able to post the torque specs for the upper and lower arms as well as the brakes?
Thank you!
+1 for Avo at NMW. Awesome dude and really helpful. Knows his stuff
great work!
I have bought a set of these control arms and i can say the the quality is A1. Very simple job i changed mine on the ground with a couple of trolley jacks.
Outstanding work Sir!
When everything in this world is upside down, corrupt and just plain evil, its people like you that give us all a little hope! You are an Australian badass!
Thank you Sir!
Now for my question, just purchased a 2014 Grand Turismo Sport with 48k miles, love the car but as you mentioned some replacement parts are being discontinued.
I will be confirming the control arms for my model are still available if not have you any resources or suggestions for a solution if I need to replace mine. The only thing I've noticed is a little pitch and yaw around corners compared to my 2011 M3 E92, but I've only driven the car about 100mi so far, I'll raise the vehicle and give it a shake as your video directs.
Thank you in advance Mate!

Excellent work. Shocking that Maserati are so negligent about vehicle safety and longevity.
do you have a website to order parts from? I did my control arms 2 years back so really and truly appreciate what you have done here and watched your FEA work - pretty slick impressed
I don't have anything set up properly currently. Most people reach out to me through the MaseratiLife Forums.
Good Job
How do you know a full size spanner has a tendency to pop the dust boot off? Also, where did you get yours? Formula dynamics?
Lol, yeah popping that dust boot off is a nightmare. The grease makes it super hard to get back on!
No, I make these myself. The manufacturing takes place in 4 countries and then I assemble the parts. If you want a set, or any details, the best bet is to hit up the Maseratilife forums and send me a message!
Really good thanks, now i am worrying about my suspension arms
Well, wiggle wiggle!
@@ShiftMotoring Had a 4 Wheel alighnment, all ok
Hi, great video as usual! What is the cost of these replacement upper and lower control with bolts? Do you produce replacement tie rods as well? Thanks, Marc
Send me a message on the maseratilife forums. I make them to order so the pricing will change for each order depending on the materials cost.
Got you! Thanks, Marc@@ShiftMotoring
You still doing these? I need a set!@ShiftMotoring
@@thestamper I am a potential buyer, not a seller
By the way, where'd you get that hydraulic table? It's really nice!
Total Tools, they've got a few stores around Australia. Otherwise you'll find hydraulic tables pretty easily on google. They tend to be used in packing and warehouse environments where people are moving goods around regularly. If you're looking for proper mechanic's equipment look for something with hard stops for safety. Mine is just for packing gear and doesn't have stops so I need to be mindful when I'm using it like when using a hydraulic jack.
Beautiful! Love your floor lift too!
do you have a part list / bom of all needed call joints?
You can reach out to me on the MaseratiLife forums!
Do you make something similar for Gran Turismo?
I'm in Perth WA,
Iooks like I need to replace my rear left side.
Could you give ma an idea on the costing.
Cheers
Drop me a line on the MaseratiLife forums!
Omg you have an x1c too!! Mate it's like we're twins hahah
Can I order these control arms from you? Do you have a price list with parts available. Thanks
Yeah you can, send me a message on the MaseratiLife forums.
Is there a solution for the front control arms?
Not yet, but I will be working on it soon. I've nearly paid off the costs of developing the rear ones then I'll start the front.
Are you still offering your control arm setup on ML Forums as I see you directing others?
I am, I'm currently have a batch in production. Definitely drop me a message!
@@ShiftMotoring ill try! just joined so I guess I need more time or whatever to message you! Awesome!
@@astonmartinzz just responded to the DIY videos thread and I'll send you a PM!
