This is awesome man! I live in Sydney and want an 09-11' Quattroporte. And like you, want to show people how to diý. Looking forward to watching part 2 right now👍
Excellent content ! I hope to not have to change that on my GransSport too ! it was done 3000 miles ago, just before I bought it. the cas has now 30000 miles. If I need to change it again in the future I will show this video to my mechanic !
Great vid. Interested to hear more about your solution to fixing the CEL problem. I have a custom exhaust with 2x 5 inch 200 cell cats (one on each bank) and I keep getting the CEL for cat efficiency below threshold - are they not hot enough then?
The cat efficiency code is usually a temperature code. If you were to hook it up to to a scan tool at the time the code appears you can read the cat temperature, I think the threshold is 450 degrees, so if you're throwing p0431/p0421 you need to get the cats hotter usually. I wrapped my pipes to address the issue on mine. Maserati used double-skinned headers and placed the cats close to the headers to meet regulations. The further the cat gets from the header the more insulation you need. I'll be doing a whole episode on the exhaust setup later. I've got a fair bit of footage for it already.
@@BADMANRASTAKILLAH The secondary cats were past the the steering rack - they would definitely be colder than the cats in header or the ones under the engine. It won't hurt to wrap them.
Just found your channel and as a DIY GS owner I really am finding your videos useful. Thank you. I think i have quite a few questions buzzing around in my mind about the clutch change process but I need to have a think about them for now. The parts aren't cheap though are they?! Excdllent work with the exhaust, it sounds epic!
Hi there, it is a job iam going to do. what about the hydrolic lines, you just disconect them and tnen conect them again or there is more to do after that like bleeding or toping up oil. thanks
It wouldn't be hard, but it would be expensive sourcing the parts. I wouldn't bother though, the hydraulic transmission is so much more enjoyable to drive fast!
there's a myth about never driving this an auto. it doesn't make a difference. it has to do with how heavy your foot is on the gas pedal and if you take it to a place where they know what the hell they're doing when they adjust the clutch. it should last you 40 to 50,000 miles if you know how to drive. there's a reason why these cars sell for $5,000 - $10000 with 30,000 miles on them.

Diff disassembly- bring it on ! Good work.
Great work - many thanks! Looking forward to the upcoming vids.
I loved your way to present our work, and Maserati told, I wait the second part!!!
Excellent Vid mate. look forward to many more.
great info mate, i'm doing one of these jobs on monday. now i know what to expect
Thanks! I finished filming the reinstall a few days ago, and I just need to film the clutch setup on the Launch, that will be in the next video!
hello great video. I'm doing the same thing right now. I wish you could have shown how to bleed the slave cylinder up.
I discuss it on Part 3. You need someone feeding hydraulic fluid into the reserviour while the bleed nipple is open.

@@ShiftMotoring Thanks mate. My cats are located where the stock secondaries would be so not as far back as yours

Hey do you have any torque specs or access to where I can get them for anything ?!? Thank you so much !

They're not cheap, but they're not awful. The real killer is labour costs since it takes hours to do relatively simple jobs!
Okay
Good work! 💪💪

You'll need get a computer that can setup the TCU! I'll be covering that in third video!
Can that transmission be install in a 2018 maserati granturismo MC?
What's wrong with the original bushing set up on the control arms and how can we improve. Also what suspension and tire set up so you plan to run?
My bushings are deteriorated and my ball joints have play, the arms just need to be rebuilt.
I'm planning on running Nankang AR-1s
@@ShiftMotoring you end up rebuilding the ball joints?
good misuc in background "stardust" "dualipa" " jamiroquai"
Can the Ferrari manual shifter be install to this maserati With the clutch ?
There are probably some similarities but there would be more differences with the linkages and such.
thats alot of hydraulic lines,i wonder how hard is it to convert it into full manual

Fantastic, thank you!
Great work, please make PArt2!
It's coming soon!
hola para un cambiocorsa 2004 es el mismi procedimiento??
¡Sí! Debería haber muy pocas diferencias con respecto a 2004
Irony: it's easier to change the clutch on my 599 than it is on the Maserati.
I need to replace my clutch soon, can you help me out?
You can find me on the maseratilife forums, lambertius! I'm not sure how much help I can give you from Australia but I'll do what I can!
how many hours replace clutch?
If you're only doing the clutch and pilot bearing, you can do it in 6-8 hours by not removing the gearbox.
Lambertius - music sounds better with you. The music out of the gransport exhaust.

What a bullshit. Everyone just removes the complete rear transaxle with the tube in one piece.
