Sad to see the Dad-erati go, absolutely gorgeous thing. Glad the repair was not a bank-buster. I do feel for what ever car has to follow those two, a very high bar has been set. Sub-£10k, you can easily get 2nd gen BMW 650i (The infamous bangle-butt model). Yes the engine does have some publicised issues, but well-cared examples aren't as bad as the reputation says (I've owned my '08 650i since 2022), the engine is a diva so missed or poor maintenance is usually the root cause and mine has been a joy. The flip side is it's pretty punchy with 370 bhp, surprisingly good on fuel and deceptively practical. And Multimac do list the car as being able to fit their seat units. It's absolutely not an Aston or a Maserati but I think they're great cars, although that may be owner bias (Cue endless comments telling me how I'm wrong... 😋)

@@Metro6am The 630i is a safe bet for a bargain, but knowing the 650i and the issues it can have, I don’t recommend the bottom of the market. How about a Jaguar XE-S with the supercharged V6 for your next car? They tend to be around the £15k mark but higher mileage ones are a little over £10k. You might be able to get a good deal on one. Plus, who doesn't love a Jaaaaag.

You need a Mercedes E Class Convertible in your life: 1. Usable Convertible with kids as has built in wind deflectors so don't lose back seats when doing motorway speeds. This is unique and makes it the only true family convertible 2. Fast, eg e350d can do about 0-60 in 6 secs 3. Economical - 45 to 50mpg possible on motorway 4. Parts cheap due to e class taxis now being scrapped. Don't need specialist mechanic. 5. Reliable 6. Air scarf means that you can drive it top down even when snowy 7. Silly cheap for what were described as poor man's Bentley when they came out. You'll get a good 2012 for well below £10k.
It was a lovely thing but everything has its time. Leaving my v8 for what is a stunning sounding v6 which does an excellent job of replacing what's gone yet still, it doesn't make noise like a v8 - surely DadCars must make great sounds :) Lots of sub 10k v8 options ;)
So much for high mileage Italian cars being unreliable eh. What a gem of a car. Feel your pain having to sell it so my proposal for a sub £10k replacement has to be an Alfa with a V6 Busso. GT or maybe a 156 GTA. Go on!!! 😀
The list is endless, Alfa Brera 3.2 Jag XJR Jag XJR depending on how the rear child seat attached Maserati Quadaporte Mercedes clk AMG 55 Volvo V70 d5 or T5 Focus st3 Mazda 3 mps
Can get a nice xfr for under 10k Cls 55 .. 335i.. Little s3 There’s loads of cool cars for sub 10k.. I’d probably go for a xfr just for the rwd power..
Wtf is with those shorts? Great video though. I can send a couple pair from the USA if things are tight over there. I have an 82,000 mile Gran Turismo cab, my second, and I love them. I’ve had a couple of QP’s as well (2006 and 2014), and never any major repairs. I did need an outer tie rod on my GT and the dealer said they are not serviceable, had to buy a complete rack. After a short search I purchased a tie 😮 rod online for $26. I am a used car dealer, and the only one in my area that has the balls to sell them around here (40 miles west of Boston). Please don’t tell anyone how cheap they are to run. I like that their terrible reputation (unfounded as it is) keeps them very inexpensive to buy. I have 2003 sl55 AMG with 493hp that I nearly never drive because the Maserati is just so much more satisfying.
Main thing is the N54 engine and not later N55 engined models, presuming you want something interesting to play with and make videos about. They are called German Supra for a reason, and new Supra is actually an extension of the concept
Second vid I've watched on this channel and being a car loving dad myself it's a breath of fresh air. Subscribed ben! Hope your channel blows up and this content continues! 🎉
@@dadcars they're lovely cars and pretty rare now. Plus the early pre 2005 cars are cheaper to tax there is a vxr monaro for sale for about 12k but it's been sat up for sale for abit
@@dadcars if u could stretch to an RS275 👌🏻. Not sure on prices in uk,? But in Australia the RS275 was only sold in the higher specs. So hold there value much higher that. RS265s.
As a replacement for the Maserati, how about a 5.0 V8 Jaguar XFR? You were thinking of a Jag as the next in line anyway, so why not stick with that plan, kind of? There are plenty of XKs at that price point but you've already had one of those.
A sad day, but also an opportunity for new memories and lots of fun. For the new car, it depends how risky you want to be. There are a lot of cars available for under £10k!!
The reason why used Maseratis are so cheap is the stupidly high parts prices, they really need to introduce a parts discount for older cars, I know many parts are shared with other makes but some are unique such as suspension components etc which are ridiculously expensive.
It's a pity you have to skip the under £15k pricepoint, but there are still some cool cars available for under £10k. I daresay you already have one lined up, but if not, there is a 2004 RS6 on sale for £8k on Autotrader. The owner claims to have spent £10k on the mechanicals. The front windows don't work and the headlining is sagging, but with your £10k budget you'd have £2k to get the windows and headlining done. Cheers Ben.
I think you should pick up something that can be tuned. Better for content. I don’t think the kids are that into old school grand tourers. There are a few sorted 5.0 Range Rovers for under 10k…
Ah Ben, good that the channel is going well, Why not risk it all and buy a sub ten grand Bentley Continental?😉😆 Go on. PS. I'm still enjoying putting some miles on my DB9. You are partly to blame! Lol. Good luck 👍👏👏👏♥️

1. Usable Convertible with kids as has built in wind deflectors so don't lose back seats when doing motorway speeds. This is unique and makes it the only true family convertible
2. Fast, eg e350d can do about 0-60 in 6 secs
3. Economical - 45 to 50mpg possible on motorway
4. Parts cheap due to e class taxis now being scrapped. Don't need specialist mechanic.
5. Reliable
6. Air scarf means that you can drive it top down even when snowy
7. Silly cheap for what were described as poor man's Bentley when they came out. You'll get a good 2012 for well below £10k.
100% open to an E class convertible with a big engine for the summer…
from what age do you think convertibles are fun for kids? My son is 2.5yo. Considering trading my F type for a C63amg or perhaps something cheaper.
What a great episode Ben, my favourite for a while. Lovely editing - well done !
🙌😊 thanks
What a great super honest guy - Love Ash !
He’s a gem 👌😊
Congrats on going full time #dadcars 🎉 great video, really enjoyed it! Car looks amazing 🤩 congrats on the sale 🥹
🤙😊
Great montage with the Dadseratti at the end, Ben!
Ah thanks! I’m glad so many are enjoying it 🥰
Great videos! How does your downward spiralling budget have any long-term legs though?
My theory… give it everything I have for as long as I can. It either succeeds or it doesn’t but I can live with that if I give it my all.
@@dadcars What stops you buying at lower prices and trading up instead of down? Risk of buying badly I guess?
Could the end of the Maserati be the start of another Maserati - Quattroporte’s are sub £10k 🤔
A QP is one of the greatest Dadcars you can buy for 10k right now 😅
I came straight here to say the same. Can even get a GTS and a ZF for under 10k now
Good prices from the garage there.
It was a lovely thing but everything has its time. Leaving my v8 for what is a stunning sounding v6 which does an excellent job of replacing what's gone yet still, it doesn't make noise like a v8 - surely DadCars must make great sounds :) Lots of sub 10k v8 options ;)
I loved your Mach 1 👌🤩
Exited to see what you get next.
What would you recommend?!
@@dadcars maybe a Mercedes CL500, BMW E31, Jaguar XKR.
But i live in Norway and not sure how prices are in UK on those cars
So much for high mileage Italian cars being unreliable eh.
What a gem of a car.
Feel your pain having to sell it so my proposal for a sub £10k replacement has to be an Alfa with a V6 Busso.
GT or maybe a 156 GTA.
Go on!!!
😀
Alfa has to happen at some point! 👌😮💨
The list is endless, Alfa Brera 3.2
Jag XJR
Jag XJR depending on how the rear child seat attached
Maserati Quadaporte
Mercedes clk AMG 55
Volvo V70 d5 or T5
Focus st3
Mazda 3 mps
🙌😎
That was supposed to be XKR seats depending
Cor I forgot about Mazda mps
Is the Mazda 6 mps still under 10 too?
@@baheh1801 it is but could only see 1
Can get a nice xfr for under 10k
Cls 55 ..
335i..
Little s3
There’s loads of cool cars for sub 10k..
I’d probably go for a xfr just for the rwd power..
🙌😊
I had the same model for 8 years and it never let me down…. Not even a new clutch….
I honestly think the gransports are easier on the pocket than a gran Turismo
Holden/Vauxhall Monaro Coupe is a shoe in for this??
This channel deserves alot more subscribers.
Thank you! I put my heart and soul into this I really do 🥲🙌
@@dadcars you are doing great. It will come.
All the best with the move to full time!
Thank you 🙏
I was hoping you get the quattroporte at sub 15k has the seats and all. Good luck on the sub10k
I will get a QP at some point… 🥹
How about C205 CL55 Kompressor?
Not sure what they cost in the UK but try BMW 135i or 335i or Z4 with N54 engine.
Needs rear seats!
@dadcars not Z4 then. 135i is coupe and got rear seats. 335i is sedan and got rear seats and rear doors as well
Main thing is the N54 engine and not later N55 engined models, presuming you want something interesting to play with and make videos about. They are called German Supra for a reason, and new Supra is actually an extension of the concept
Actually, 335i got convertible, coupe, wagon and sedan versions, all 5 seaters
CLK55 AMG convertible has four seats and a gorgeous V8
👌😎
I just sold a 16 Audi s5 Sportback for not much more than 10k. You will get an older one for that? Great dad cars!
10k you can look at some Subarus unfortunately sti is out the equation. E60 545i could be a good option if you want a v8 rwd or jag xj
Second vid I've watched on this channel and being a car loving dad myself it's a breath of fresh air. Subscribed ben! Hope your channel blows up and this content continues! 🎉
Thanks man!! 🙌 glad you found us!
There's a CLS63, Jaaaag XKRs, hell even a couple of Bentley Continentals on Autotrader sub-10k right now - Best of luck choosing the next one Ben!
You’re on my wave length 👌😮💨… I’m open to it!!!
nice shorts, where did you buy them...?
They’re available to buy on our merch site! 🤣… I think I got them from Nike online
Maybe if you want something with 5 doors an mg zt 260 v8. Or for a 2 door coupe a mercedes cl55, vauxhall monaro 5.7 or 6.0.
I really want to review a monaro
@@dadcars they're lovely cars and pretty rare now. Plus the early pre 2005 cars are cheaper to tax there is a vxr monaro for sale for about 12k but it's been sat up for sale for abit
Megane. RS265. Is a bargain. Love mine as 2nd family dad car. Driven daily. Been really reliable and fun to drive.
I can’t have two French cars! 😅
@@dadcars Nothing wrong with having two different types of French cars. With different purposes.
Jag is a popular vote in the comments!
how about alfa 159 3.2 V6 Q4??
I’d love to try one!
A sad day, but also an opportunity for new memories and lots of fun. For the new car, it depends how risky you want to be. There are a lot of cars available for under £10k!!
Tempted to go risky!
You know it makes sense. We will all support you, that’s for sure. This is where it gets interesting ❤
Well done Ben, the Maserati was a gem! Have you considered an Audi A4 Avant? Quite a few on Autotrader for the price range.John
RS4?! 😅
@@dadcars Probably!!
What about a BMW 6 series. Coupe body, choice of engines, rear wheel drive and under £10k?
V10?! 😝
Remember what certain people said about the Dad-B9 & the Daderati!! ❤
Some great cars under 10k can’t wait to see what you end up with
I genuinely don’t know what it’ll be!
Isn't the warning light for low washer fluid?
“Level” light was the problem
As you said: a work of art! I really agree 👍 🥰
🥹🙌
The reason why used Maseratis are so cheap is the stupidly high parts prices, they really need to introduce a parts discount for older cars, I know many parts are shared with other makes but some are unique such as suspension components etc which are ridiculously expensive.
Could you not get an earlier XJ Supersport for sub 10K Ben? 🤔
Well I’ve seen them up for low teens so there is a possibility! I’m sure PX would be 10k or even less if someone traded one in
What is F1 fluid?
How about a XKR?
It’s definitely an option now I have the Avantime!
You perfectly captured the emotion when you’re selling a well-loved car.
🥹🙏
You’ve found a great garage fella. 👍
Yep they are amazing! Feel very safe in their hands
How about an E39 535i or 540i? Both have lovely V8 engines😁
I’d love to try one! I’m still a little sad the E39 M5 is now impossible 🥲
Cheers Ben.
I’ll check it out!
Sounds like a plan Ben, I'll be watchin! 😉
🙌😎
Really sad to see the Maserati go it did you well for a car it's age never mind the fact it's a Italian exotic
Very well 🙏 I love those cars 😊
I think you should pick up something that can be tuned. Better for content. I don’t think the kids are that into old school grand tourers. There are a few sorted 5.0 Range Rovers for under 10k…
One of mine cried when we sold the DB9!
@@dadcars soz I meant younger viewers!
Freedom that's what it's all about and even better in a Special Car.
Ah Ben, good that the channel is going well,
Why not risk it all and buy a sub ten grand Bentley Continental?😉😆 Go on.
PS. I'm still enjoying putting some miles on my DB9. You are partly to blame! Lol. Good luck 👍👏👏👏♥️
You’re speaking my language 🙌😎
@dadcars sorry to report but the car is currently listed as a Cat B write off on Copart
And so many of them, exept the 275bhp D version, mayby, as they say, are crap money pits. They look the part, sound the part, when they are going of course, after that its down hill all the way!
Lexus RC or MB CLS350 V6 or E400 V6 are some interesting cars you may get around 10000
🤙😎
