      It's never too late to start, it's not other people you're fighting, it's your previous less trained, less complete self. You train because you want to be a better person than you were before. So I'm just thankful for the lessons on the journey.

      From southpaw, I diamond step into orthodox stance, pivot back leg out to square-up as i throw a lead head-hook to draw the hands up, then bob into a body cross

      Gabe Just make sure to do a video on choosing which side to fight. Is it orthodox or southpaw. I'm a converted right handed southpaw. I'm expecting something related to Vasyl Lomachenko.

      Jab jab body cross

  • @smellyhippi
    @smellyhippi 2 года назад +4

    The movement of the head and extra step so the side into covering the face after the jab is so important, i've been doing none of that when i chuck crosses to the body and i always cop shots to the head haha, Thanks for the info! I'm glad your channel is getting bigger, you deserve it especially with the quality of your videos.

    Love this move too! Sometimes after my partner/opponent is used to me doing the bodycross setup I like to use the bodycross to setup a high roundhouse as well.

    I do the same as you, step left as I throw the body cross. Also, sometimes, rather than leave the left by the left side of my head, I bring is across to the right side as a block for the opponent's cross.

  • @rolandotillit2867

    Back foot in reference to your lead hand, therefore back foot becomes front foot in a cross. In a cross, the hip joints should drive the left heel down and your left elbow should move at a 45 degree angle relative to your left heel. If done properly you should have almost no effort on your right arm, the right cross is merely the result of you drilling your left heel into the ground. The same can be said of the right roundhouse. You explode off the ball of your feet but you're merely resisting the left heel drilling into the earth.
    The problem with this is that all your jabs turn into backfists.

    Been having success using it off of an up jab with my jab coming from a lower hand position. More so than from regular jab for some reason.
    Wondering hom you feel about following up with a right low kick? Saw a fighter (if i remember who ill reply) do it recently and he landed it a few times. Felt kinda clunky when i tried it but it did land...

    7:27 I have to disagree. By lowering and throwing that bodypunch simultaneously you use gravity to have more power in it.
    Its like punching down is more powerful than punching up. Physics
