Thank you for your episode of HOPE 💕. Our state is one of the hot spots for the virus so Hope is definitely what we hold dear to our hearts. I also like the approach of being gentle to our love ones during this time and a reminder to maintain a gentle approach. I appreciate you. ❤️💗❤️.

What a beautiful ending to the tornado story. I will admit that at the end of the video when you said to hold on to hope, I visualized someone being thrown around by the wind, holding on to whatever one can. A knitter might resemble a kite in such a circumstance! Beautiful yarn, and thank you for the optimistic attitude.

Making socks is my absolute favorite! I learned how to make them when I was a poor college student and needed an inexpensive project that would take me a long time to make. The best part of the socks was that when I finished one I still had another one to make so I didn't have to go spend more money on yarn! A good pattern makes all the difference (I'm sure your pattern is perfection). Thankfully the pattern I learned with 16 years ago was an easy one so I wasn't too intimidated. I love turning the heel. Your instructions were so great! I love your videos. Your sweet demeanor shines through and your love for people and knitting is very evident. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world. I am not surprised in the least that you have an ancestor that survived a tornado, you definitely have perseverance and hope and all kinds of good character traits in your genetics not to mention all the strength you gain from the Lord. Love you Aunt Liz! ~Olivia Joy

Well I love you, too, Olivia Joy! Thanks for your kind comments. I think you’re a survivor, too, one who turns setbacks into stepping stones with the Lord’s help. I’m so proud of you! -Yup. Turning the heel is my favorite part of making a sock. Smile. - Liz

Oh! So glad you found this helpful. I think part of the job of a teacher is to make something as understandable and easy to remember as possible. That’s where my students come in! Their feedback reveals the trouble spots and helps me know how to address them. Sometimes it’s easy to “over-teach” and make something more difficult than it needs to be. That’s something I want to avoid, not by “dumbing-down” material, but by giving essential tips to put it within reach of most knitters. So thanks for your feedback, Michele! - Liz

Marty, thank you. No, I don’t have a background in the performing arts. Well, I’ve played drums a lot in public, but that’s very different than this. Your question was an encouragement, because it feels like I’m blundering my way through. Your kind comment tells me that you’re the kind of person who looks for the GOOD in others! And how we need people like you, especially at a time like this! Have a beautiful day! - Liz
