Charlotte, thank you for referring me to this video. I was having really hard time with the short row heel and this worked out perfectly the first time. I appreciate you doing most of this video in real time. I adore your patterns and I could listen to you. Talk all day long.
Thank you so much for sharing this instructional video. I read the instructions, but sometimes, I just need to be shown. I usually use Cat Bordhi's Sweet Tomato Heel, but it doesn't work well with a contrasting heel color. This method is PERFECT for that. I appreciate you taking time to create this for us.
I’m confused why you slip as if to purl here when you indicate an ssk?10:27 Is it because the right leg is in the back? I am a beginner and I am so confused about this and where to pick up after the decrease
What is the advantage of slipping purl-wise versus knit-wise? I am no expert but I have less issues with holes by using a slip stitch knit-wise instead of purl-wise. Also, if one knits back on the wrong side of the fabric instead of purling, one ends up with a garter stitch heel instead of a stockinette heel, which I like. The garter stitch heel is more plush than the stockinette counterpart.
I’m having the same problem. I really don’t understand the picking up of the bar under the decreases, and I feel like this video is not clear at all on that. I’m bummed about it
I had the same problem with holes in the heel. What helped me make the holes smaller was slipping the stitch knitwise (sl1). Once I started doing that, the holes became noticeably smaller. Hope this helps!
@@evaplevier7000 thanks! I may give that a go another time. I ended up doing the Earth Tones Girl shadow wrap heel, and it’s beautiful. Happy knitting 🧶
Try picking up the left leg of the stitch below the last stitch (like a left lift increase {LLI}) AND the right leg below the first stitch on next needle (RLI) and knitting them together. You then decrease away the extra stitch on the next rnd.
I really like how complete the method creates a heel without any gaps or holes. Thank you

At last somebody who Knits like me .😃
That was great Charlotte thank you
Where can I find this pattern?
🤩🤩
Are you supposed to have an equal amount of switches at the end, as when startend the short row heel? I starten of with 40, and now have 23😮
You are probably forgetting to add a stitch after closing the gap. The M1L after SSK on the right side or M1Lp after P2TOG on the wrong side.
I tried this heel a few times now.. it looks so good, but I'm getting big holes on the sides everytime.. and I dont know why 🥲

Same, I tried different bars and holes occur every time.
