Thank you so much for clear instruction! I never made German Short row heel before and it was easy to follow with your video. I realized this is much easier compared to Wrap&turn heels but I think I prefer w&t shape more
Thank you so much for this in-depth sock tutorial. I appreciate how easy the German Short-Row heel is. For some reason, 😮I have a lot of trouble knitting the tried and true heel but I think I will be able to remember this one. Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2024.
Thank you so much, everybody else's tutorials were using DPNs and I was really struggling to transfer that knowledge to ML circulars. I appreciate your video!
I'd given up on making socks but after finding and following your tutorial, I completed my first sock with no holes. You are an excellent instructor ~~ Muchas gracias. 🥰
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm always searching for new and fun techniques for sock knitting. Your video was easy to understand and has inspired me to try this German Short Row Heel.
Yes, I just released it today. It is Cozy Fuzzy Socks. I am going to add links below the video. You can use code fuzzy15 to get 15% off on both Ravelry and Payhip through March 31, 2023.
I don't give pattern support for my videos, I do have a basic pattern www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/you-got-this with 9 sizes written that uses this heel. This video is to a visual of the heel to help people that already have a pattern to go by. If you can't use Ravelry, you can find my designs on other platforms on my Linktree under video.
Thanks for this, I managed to follow quite a way before becoming baffled. I'm a thrower so maybe a few more views of your sock making will make things clearer. I may do a slow knit along swatch practice. Just to get the shaping theory lodged in my mind.
I'm a thrower as well, and once you get the hang of this heel, it looks and works great! This is the only heel I knit now regardless of yarn weight or size of foot I'm knitting for.
I’ve been wanting to try the German short heel and you popped up on Instagram telling that you had a tutorial up! I was so excited to see this!! I will be using this on my next sock I am working on. I was wondering if you can do this heel with a contrast color? I’m not sure how to do that, so would you consider making a tutorial for it please?

You are so very welcome.
Thank you so much, great video and pleasant voice.
I also knit socks toe up with short row heels, gussets are ugly 😉. This way is even better than mine and I'll switch to it! Happy knitting to you too.

Thank you so much! I’ve just tried shadow wrap heels and would like a little more room in my foot-this might do the trick!😊
Great tutorial 🙌🏼 thank you for the easy explanation!
Supergut erklärt. Vielen Dank ❤

May I ask if there is a pattern for the sock you are knitting here? Also, which yarns are you using in the video, I’d like to get some! Thank you!

Yes you can, my pattern, 'You Got This' is written for a contrast heel, there will be a strap of color going across your sock though.
Thank you for letting me know. Where can I purchase your pattern?

What size needles are you using?
US #2 and US #2.5, I am a looser knitter and these give me a good fabric for DK weight socks.
