I found the way you hold your yarn interesting. I’m 73 and learned to knit as soon as I could hold the needles. You hold your yarn and handle it like I do which was always a source of amusement to my mom. Apparently one of my aunts used to do it the same way but she was blind by the time I was born so I didn’t learn it from her. I used to use circular needles to knit sweaters. Can’t imagine making socks on one.

I just had to pop in to thank you. I found your video a little while ago and enjoyed it. I have finally got in gear and made a pair of socks using the shadow wrap heel. Thank you for the video, it was incredibly helpful. Your instructions and video were clear and easy to follow.
I made these socks to give to a gentleman who owns a woodland and makes the most amazing bowls and things. I asked if he could make me a yarn bowl and he had no idea what they were so I sent him pics of various styles. He made me one and he had such fun doing it he gave it to me for free as it gave him a new line of things to make and sell. It was kind of him to do and as a thank you, he now has a pair of warm woollen socks to work in the woods or the out building. A win/win all the way around I think. So thank you again!

I decided to make a friend of mine (who also has large feet like I do) a pair of socks for her birthday. The heel instructions in the pattern made the tiniest heel turn I've ever seen on a sock? The heel was so shallow there was no way either of us would have been able to get our foot into the sock properly. So, after doing the heel 2 different ways I tried for the third time, this method. The third time is definitely the charm!!! The heel is perfect and I'm so pleased with how it looks!

After years of the simple wrap & turn heel ( I don't even remember where I learned it ) and occasionally having to "go back" and tighten up some holes with an extra thread at the end - I am completely IN LOVE. I work toe-up freestyle 99.7% of the time using a formula I put together years + ago, but this makes a much more secure heel.
Video was easy to watch- clear, precise and instructional! I will be watching more and I subscribed!

I loved this vid. I make socks all the time and I’ve been using German Short Rows for my heels but no matter how careful I am, I usually seem to have a gap on each side of my heels. Then I have to sew up that gap afterward so I will definitely try this new way (after I watch it a couple times more) while I’m knitting. Thank you for making it look easy.

Perfect timing. I need to start a Christmas stocking and I use a short row heel. I always need to look up how to do it.

This is the easiest heel that I have knitted. I can now successfully knit socks. Thank you for this video tutorial.
