I think the Truma Ultraheat blown air is still one of the best heaters even the old models so popular ,I've heard the combi ones can be really unreliable and cause hot areas below the bed not good in hot weather if you are using hot water (even more so in summer ) Truma Ultraheat and ultrastore best.
Greetings Bob, thank you for the great videos. The best hand over video on RUclips is from Tynne Valley Motorhomes. I think you will agree Bob at Tynne Valley do a first class hand over. Please let me know what you think.
I have a little part time job, driving rental campers back to Johannesburg. We don't sleep on route in the cleaned vans. All of the over cab beds are removed with improvised storage. I have a code EC (truck license) and drive the luxury coaches back. Most of the regular rental campers as you have shown in this video, requires a regular B licence. Under 3500kg. Here comes my question. Some of the UK motor homes seems to be border cases. Do you also have the international SADC driver licence structure? What motor-homes would then fall into the C1 and C class?
Looks like the UK is included in the SADC International driving licence structure. All motorhomes here that have a maximum technically permitted laden mass (MTPLM) over 3500kg, require drivers to have a category C1 on their licence. I did do a video on the subject. Personally I think that many drivers without C1 are driving overloaded and that the limit is much too low
Our own motorhome a Swift Bolero 714SB requires a C1 licence. Motorhomes that require C1 include motirhomes like the Auto-Trail Serrano, Malibu I431LE, Swift Kon-Tiki 625. Many manufacturers struggle to keep their motorhomes under 3500kg, including Motorhomes like the Swift Bessacarr 574. Usually limiting payload severely.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks Bob! Very interesting subject and awesome reply! In your next review, just mention the class motorhome as that seems to be international standard and very good to relate to the review! Thank you so much! What a gentleman you are!
The cab-over or drop down beds aren't popular in SA. Almost useless space. The biggest attraction stay the large island bed at the back and a 2 person dinette in the front with swivel seats. The second van had the better bathroom. How is the "trade in" values in the UK and does the dealers place a large mark-up on a trade in?
Yes, they are getting less popular here too, overcab beds. I've no idea about trade in values, as it's 4 years since we traded anything. Motorhomes do have very good residual values though.
Hi Bob, That is not the 2019 model...It is the old 2018 one as I bought one..I now have the new 2019 model on a 68 plate and it has different worktops ie grey, a fixed moveable table in the front dinette, extra plug sockets, different window surrounds and the graphics on the outside are now double on each colour and broken up at the ends...Take a look on the internet and you'll see. If they are trying to sell it as the new 19 model that's not quite right....!!!
If you mean the Swift Escape, yes you're correct, it's a 2018 model, as it said on the front page. It's registered in 2019 as it said on the second page. Guess that's why there is a good discount.
Payloads always an issue in 6 Birth even when taking children. 4 Adults lets say 300kg . Awning , solar , extra battery. you are at the limit . I wish they would put the payloads on a big sticker before you start looking. especially on 3500 vans. Anyway Thanks for the Reviews Great Job as Always.
No, if I was I would have to declare it. Todds get some publicity, I get to look round some nice motorhomes and you get to watch. Seems like a good deal to me.
Hi bob Yeh payload is a problem with any 6 berth moho on a 3500 kg van. My rollerteam 690g with me the wife full tank of fuel full tank of fresh water, 2 bikes clothes and food weighs in at 3600 kg. Got to be carfull.
Why do they only put 3 gas rings on a full size cooker ? There’s clearly space to put 4 gas or the usual 3 gas and 1 electric. Just seems to be a penny pinching exercise to me.
Ooh, that fridge in the Roller Team van, was far too small! Even if there were only 2 of you, it wouldn't hold much. I liked that it had a separate shower, but that space would have been better used for a large fridge. Also, the user payload was a lot less than the Swift. The Swift was the better 6 berth option I think.
And no, the Swift is not 9 metres tall. Lol.
Haha... Now that would be an interesting shape 7m x 2.3m x 9m ... plenty of headroom
Thanks Bob. I like to see your videos where you look at the different layouts 👍
Hi bob nice review of the van like the fact that the van didnt hav a long over hang past the back wheels which is good nice one .kev
Yes, you have to be careful with long overhangs. Our own van is fairly long.

You couldn't resist could you..."no more cupboard opening until September" I though you said. Lol. 😂
I know, I know.
Another great look around two more motorhomes thank you, but not really a "handover" style i was expecting ;))
Thanks. I will be doing and handover video in July, so watch this space.

Thanks, yes I've watched that. It's very comprehensive and specific to that Auto-Trail model. Think you'd need a handover video for every model.
Can you add in a look at window shades when you are giving a tour?
The trouble is most if them are the same Remis blinds, but will try and remember.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Ok thank you.

At 9.5 metres high might have trouble with a few bridges😩

My rollerteam 690g with me the wife full tank of fuel full tank of fresh water, 2 bikes clothes and food weighs in at 3600 kg. Got to be carfull.
Yes you have. Have an accident when 100kg overweight, insurance might not pay out, and there's a risk of prosecution by the police.

It all adds up, and is often the difference between 70k and 59k Van's.
Bob, 9.5 metres high, are you sure?
Just proves everyone is listening....
Duel isn’t spelt wrong
Dual means two, duel is a fight.
Not sure that the Swift is 9 metres tall (listen carefully) :) :)
Yes, should be 9ft that's why I need my Jenny!

If you mean the fridge in the Auto-Trail, yes that was a bit too small for 6. I did prefer the Auto-Trail overall though.
Doh, yes, I do!
