    Great video Bob very informative
Memory lane for us as we use to live not far from Todds, former Tardy Gate Mill. I can recall When Todd’s first opened selling tents, great place to visit

I liked the one with the french bed and the shower behind the bed. Nice lockers too. Pity about the french bed though.

I wasn't keen on the Malibu. It's a 4 berth, but didn't look like it had a way of shutting off the bed at the back, other than the bathroom door (there was a large gap where it closed too) so if the people sleeping at the front need the loo in the night, they're exposed to the others in the back bed?
The Auto-Trail was really nice. I don't normally like French bed layouts, but the bed was a good size, so you shouldn't be squashed up, it's only 3" shorter in width than a normal double bed. The bathroom was lovely, and with the large window, as well as a skylight, it'll be nice and light in there, as well as very good for ventilation after using the shower. I liked the little occasional table too, very handy.
    Thanks Bob!

You're welcome, thanks for watching. I didn't spot a way of closing off the bathroom.

Super video Bob thank you 😊 Love the quality of the Malibu just what you would expect from part of the Carthago famiIy (we so want a Liner for two one day! )😊 not a fan of Autotrails but that’s a personal choice however you do seem to get a lot for your money 😊

I almost like the layout of the first van... do a Island bed at the back minus the big exterior cab over. The second didn't impress at all... just my feeling, but great video again!

Don’t like the fact that the fan stays on when cooker glass is up. It means after 🥘 cooking you suffer the noise while you are eating, because you are unable to close it. 😎🍷

I liked the AutoTrail much better due to the larger bathroom. But again no Microwave, I wonder if it is an option.
Malibu was nice but I prefer the Carthago's which have better bathroom layouts imo.

Hi Michael, all Auto-Trails have a microwave included apart from the Tribute Van Conversion range.

I was just going to say it has a microwave, opposite the habitation door.

That autotrail bed looked deceptively bigger than 4ft 3” wide bob didn’t you think?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  5 лет назад +1

Yes, I thought it was wider too. Same width as the Bailey we loaned.

We have a 2012 Auto trail apache 632 and love it. Build quality is very good and materials are hard wearing. Overall the layout really works for us, but the bathroom is appalling. Really badly designed. But there will always be comprises in shorter vans.

I think Todd’s ought to loan you a van or too to review 😉

I don't think any dealer can do that, they would need to own the van in their name.

Really surprised at some of the comments regarding the Malibu. One person comments that the toilet is positioned in such a way as to lose privacy for those in bedroom, another that you can only isolate bedroom by closing over the shower door. Please remember the size of the Malibu almost a metre shorter than the auto trail. No one mentions the enormous double floor on the Malibu, unfortunately Bob failed to show the opening into the double floor at the entry door, which is enormous. All of your pipes tanks and ancillary equipment are stored within the double floor. Also what about the garage on the Malibu with a 250kg payload enough to carry a motorbike .then we have the Truma duo system for your gas cylinders, the £699 Alphatronics tv, 4.5 m canopy, everything fitted in the Malibu is top quality. The auto trail is a nice van but at 7.5 m it’s larger than I would want, and the payload to small. If you are looking for build quality the Malibu will win hands down. I think to have made a 4 berth van just 6.65 m long with such a layout and innovative shower takes some beating. Also I much prefer A class Motorhomes the view when driving and when looking out is much better than coach built, also you get a feeling that the cab is part of the lounge not separate as you do with coach built Motorhomes. Thanks again Bob for another fine video.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo yes Bob I watched your great videos showing off the the Malibu. Yours was a larger version that the I 1441 which packs so much in to a small van. I just felt that when drawing comparisons between these two vans you have to take into account the size. If I could afford the Malibu with sufficient packages at around £90,000 I would go for it, but it’s pretty much out of my price range. But we all have opinions and that’s why manufacturers make all different types of vans to try and cater for our varying needs.
