Both very nice vans, I do prefer a manual gearbox although ours is auto.

You would like the nine speed automatic.

Hi, I was thinking of buying the Ford automatic until I just read the issue with a wet cam belt you mentioned?. Could you give more info on this potential problem please.

I didn't mention it was @retro423 - some Ford owners, Transits, Focus and the like, have reported the cam belt has failed prematurely, before the Ford recommended cam belt change (at 140,000 miles for Transits) Most Ford dealers will probably recommend a belt change earlier that that now, possibly after 5 years or before 90k miles. Many vehicles already have cam belt changes at those intervals, including my VW Up!

The front dinette converts into a double bed.

The Transit based motorhomes do look good but I wouldn't have one due to the wet cam belt, which can fail prematurely, destroying the engine

The new recommendation is to change them around 90k miles, or after 5 years whichever is sooner.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo That's right Bob but I wouldn't dare run them to 90K, more like 70K or 4 years, not good as it's a big job to change them, and big bucks

I doubt many Motorhomes will ever get to even 80k miles, but yes, an additional unwelcome expense after 5 years.
