Fell in love with this song the minute I heard it on the soundtrack... All these years later, it's STILL one of my favorite songs: "If I should be short on words, but long on things to say. Would you crawl into my world, and takes these words away?" Man, that's just GOOD.
As an old motherfucker that's been perpetually drinking too much wine and reveling in the past, listening to songs that are 20+years old for too long, I LOVE when I see a young person come here and say so & so brought me here. As long as people continue to be drawn to profound music, there is hope in this crumbling world. Fucking righteous!
Karen Knapp I'm probably one of the few 18 year old kids in the US that has been listening to Chris Cornell and his beautiful and deep and soulful work for pretty much my entire life thanks to my mom and dad, they truly blessed me by introducing me to the glory days of music.
Went to Seattle from Italy in the early 90's just to walk there under the rain listening to this song. I wish I could live that moment another time in my life. Amazing what music can do... Can make you feel... Time stops... How lucky to have lived those years
+Ilaria Galasso Been there from Italy as well 3 years ago for the same reason and to know what it'd be like in 2013. And it was sunny all week! Even Aberdeen! People couldn't believe and said to me "don't expect anything like that, next time!" ;)
Moved to Medina in 1991, so spent many an evening in Seattle watching bands like Soundgarden and Alice In Chains. If only someone invented a time machine so we could go back and relive those days and evenings all over again
RIP Chris. You were an amazing soul. Thank you for bringing your music to millions of people around the world. P.S. Say Hello to Heaven for us mate...Farewell.
just incredible ... people sometimes don't appreciate how hard it is to do a faithful, solid version of a slow tune. you've got to have so much trust in the music.
the 1990's music era I would compare to the 1970's, just incredible. Temple of a Dog, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvanna, System of a Down, Radio Head, Blink, STP, Soundgarden, the list goes on!!! It's really hard to find music like this today. I'm very luck to be have been in highschool In the early 90's. I know a lot of people here won't agree but Pac and biggie just killed it too.
Days of the new, GnR,Robert Plants album Now and Zen...there’s so much good ass kicking music that came out in the 90s..its really, really hard to off hand mention it all!!! Oh yeah one more NWA !!!!
Agreed, even pop music has a higher quality to it that seems to be missing nowadays. However, I do wonder, is this an example of ageism, and assuming everything was better when we were younger? Myself, I was in elementary school during the early 90s and graduated high school in 2000. We may always be biased about things from our best days, but also, just maybe music was better?
And I am lost behind words I never find, then I am left behind as seasons roll on by...Dreams have never been the answer, and dreams have never made my bed...In my opinion one of the best performances of this beautiful song.
I wish I could see more of Chris from studio sessions like this. I like the calmenss intimacy and slight introvertedness, somehow it lifts the lyrics and the singing for me. How I love this song.
Good gracious!! 16 years! This song is just as timeless now as it was then and just as powerful. Cornell is definitely one the best vocalists in any genre of music. He is quite amazing--golden he is.
"Seasons" Summer nights and long warm days Are stolen as the old moon falls My mirror shows another face Another place to hide it all Another place to hide it all And I'm lost behind The words I'll never find And I'm left behind As seasons roll on by Sleeping with a full moon blanket Sand and feathers for my head Dreams have never been the answer And dreams have never made my bed Dreams have never made my bed And I'm lost behind The words I'll never find And I'm left behind As seasons roll on by Now I wanna fly above the storm But you can't grow feathers in the rain And the naked floor is cold as hell This naked floor reminds me Oh the naked floor reminds me And I'm lost behind The words I'll never find And I'm left behind As seasons roll on by If I should be short on words And long on things to say Could you crawl into my world And take me worlds away? Should I be beside myself And not even stay And I'm lost behind The words I'll never find And I'm left behind As seasons roll on by
Hard to say that this song is 16 years old.. Still one of the best '90's acoustic rock songs... and in this shot, Chris' voice is clean again, just like once (...HOW I MISS '90'S... WHY THOSE MAGIC YEARS ARE OVER?!?) .. grunge forever, geeks!
Epic Cornell piece I also heard it on singles and fell in love with it instantly ... truly one of my favorite songs of all time ... and I'd have to agree that Cornell is one of the most amazing vocalist of all time.
This is my alltime fav version of this song!!! His voice is perfect & the band is gellin w/ him so well!!! He's smokin hot too!!! i LOVE my Rock God!!!!!
Just awesome. A classic from the Singles soundtrack. I've seen him with Soundgarden, Audioslave, and solo here in Canada - and he rocked it every time. Don't know how he belts 'em out for 2 hours a show, night after night. One of the best rock writers and voices we'll ever see. Would be cool to be sittin' around a campfire watchin' him play an acoustic.
Makes me miss E even more, he loves Chris and is who turned me on to him. What an awesome voice!!!! And not hard on the eyes. May he Rest In Peace and his family be comforted by our Lord. Such a tragic ending. 💔
unreal...the way he re-captures "Seasons" (1 of his best Vocals ever) is simply amazing....i saw the movie SINGLES in '94 at age 20...i never thought Zeppelin could be out-done (probly still don't), but Cornell, (to me) is 1 of THE BEST rock singers ever...music/lyrics/emotion/intensity=A+....SUNSHOWER is my favoritr, followed by this, Temple Of The Dog, Unplgged in Sweden, Soundgarden...& a few Audioslve..
i watched singles and needed the cd and its freaking awesome..this def became my favorite but theres some real good ones on there..and the movie is great too.

A bottle of rum and sad news bought me here, his music changed my life forever though.

Ilaria Galasso went to Italy from US to do the same. ❣️
Ilaria Galasso that’s such an awesome story!!
I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS GONE!? Where does all that amazing poetry and music from that amazing soul go? We loved you and will miss you CHRIS!
RIP Chris. You were an amazing soul. Thank you for bringing your music to millions of people around the world. P.S. Say Hello to Heaven for us mate...Farewell.
This version, the falsetto, the ad libbing. Exquisite. Rest in peace, dear, deep, and tormented soul.
just incredible ... people sometimes don't appreciate how hard it is to do a faithful, solid version of a slow tune. you've got to have so much trust in the music.
Yes I agree awesome singer Chris Cornell RIP 💐
The original song is so beautiful, and yet this version has a richness of its own.

so much diversity and creativity in the 90s music, the golden age of music, alternative, metal, hip hop, rnb, and much more..

@@EHorvath10 Yes, I believe a bit of both. I have always wondered if growing up in certain eras have a bias on a person.

Timeless... both Chris Cornell and the song 'Seasons'. Why wasn't this a #1 song??
Melody perfection. No surprise, it's Chris Cornell.
You know it!!!! I was just telling a friend yesterday about the movie and the soundtrack. My favorite by far. Keep on ROCKIN Chris!!!!!
Chris has such a big problem not being tone-deaf, I love that he hit this one right on, as it is also one of my all-time favorites. Fantastic.

Saw chris about 8 years ago at a small club in Providence. He's just what you'd expect live. Awesome!!!
Good gracious!! 16 years! This song is just as timeless now as it was then and just as powerful. Cornell is definitely one the best vocalists in any genre of music. He is quite amazing--golden he is.
"Seasons"
Summer nights and long warm days
Are stolen as the old moon falls
My mirror shows another face
Another place to hide it all
Another place to hide it all
And I'm lost behind
The words I'll never find
And I'm left behind
As seasons roll on by
Sleeping with a full moon blanket
Sand and feathers for my head
Dreams have never been the answer
And dreams have never made my bed
Dreams have never made my bed
And I'm lost behind
The words I'll never find
And I'm left behind
As seasons roll on by
Now I wanna fly above the storm
But you can't grow feathers in the rain
And the naked floor is cold as hell
This naked floor reminds me
Oh the naked floor reminds me
And I'm lost behind
The words I'll never find
And I'm left behind
As seasons roll on by
If I should be short on words
And long on things to say
Could you crawl into my world
And take me worlds away?
Should I be beside myself
And not even stay
And I'm lost behind
The words I'll never find
And I'm left behind
As seasons roll on by
Beautiful, thank you, RIP Chris ❤
