For me this story starts like a typical Creepypasta but ends like a classic horror movie from the 80s and 90s, with the main character surviving but with lifelong trauma and the monster or villain de4d (the difference is that there is no ending with unexpected plot twist where the monster returns to claim its last victim)
@Still.the.best.2021 If I had to take a guess, it's probably because during FishStickOnASticks review of the creepypasta, he legit had the same thought when discussing the dead girlfriend shit.
Is the NES Godzilla Creepypasta scary? No. But I can’t help but still be invested every time I read it. The spritework is absolutely incredible, and the story, whilst nowhere near perfect, has a very fun and investing style that I can’t really say I dislike. Overall, it’s quite the enjoyable time, even if it fails at what its original goal was.
Not gonna lie the first time I watched Goji73 videos on the Creepypasta I thought it was pretty creepy (granted I was younger at the time those videos first popped up but still, those videos were very well edited and did creep me out every time I watched them). But now that im older its not as scary to me anymore. Its still entertaining to watch though. I guess it all depends on who you ask that might find this story scary or not. Hopefully the second story will be just as creepy. 🤔🕹📄👺🤷♂
No? It's VERY scary the first time, I don't know if it's because of the channels that made it scarier, since the story was told through images and writing only, as if it were a book, s but that thing is really scary
What I liked about the Godzilla NES creepypasta was how the environment and the monsters made Godzilla feel small, Godzilla the KAIJU. In the creepypasta Godzilla the guy who the game is based off of, the guy ON THE COVER! isn't the main villain, he's not bloodshot eyes, he's not "Monster of Monsters.EXE", Godzilla is just used as a way to move the story, like Mothra, Anguinus, and Solomon. What I'm trying to say here is the creepypasta was truly special as a game creepypasta. As creepypasta in general there have been better, but this creepypasta isn't Godzilla being the monster, its Godzilla monsters being killed, eaten, mutilated, transformed. Which is something you don't see from other video game creepypastas. So yeah, it's not scary but it is a very unique game creepypasta. I agree with the criticisms. But to me this game isn't really a creepypasta, it's more of a journey.
I never found Creepypastas scary as a kid, I think most of my enjoyment was due to me finding them entertaining and liking the cool monsters and killers rather than being frightened by them. NES Godzilla was the same for me except I always felt it was better than all the rest
i was pretty young when creepypastas first really got into the mainstream which was like what 2010-2011? so i was 8-9 meaning i was pretty young throughout their lifespan and while none of them straight out SCARED me a lot really creeped me out and later on in life i would find out i have pretty bad paranoia and anxiety issues and lowkey i think some of it stems from being exposed to so many creepypastas as a kid because even now as a 22 year old man some of those stories still lie in wake in my mind until just the right scenario for them to pop up and get my heart racing but the images? oh fuck the images man the doll used for the russian sleep experiment and that one "the sandman" narration FUCKED me up to this day i cannot look at it for more than a second or two before my eyes start watering 😭
0:48 For the record (As far as I’m aware as someone who was not actively involved in it), Ben Drowned wasn’t a “traditional” creepypasta. It was actually an early form of ARG, being shared in large part through videos. Any and all text adaptations came later, and were based off of incomplete data, as the story went on an indefinite hiatus during 2011 and was only finished in 2020.
Good review! I've always thought the story was meh but atmosphere and screenshots make it worth the occasional re-read. As far as Red though, for sure I can see why it might not be all that to someone else. Personally, anyone I've ever showed Red has the same reaction as myself, he's unsettling. Something about his face, so hollow and soulless and human. I think his normal body, as well, is just freaky. I can agree all his other forms are not nearly as effective, they're scary in how they show Red's power and threat; but the bodies themselves aren't nearly as freaky as the main body cause they look like real creatures, a fish and a bat. The final form especially is just a final boss, it's freaky looking but not in a creepy way. I think it's GOOD that Red looks out of place. That's the point. A more normal-kaiju looking creature already isn’t going to look as scary; but also we're talking Godzilla. The king of the monsters, there's nothing Godzilla hasn't been able to eventually surplant. Godzilla doesn't stand a chance against this thing, it instakills him. In order to make this monster unsettling to the reader, and to Godzilla, it has to be different. It doesn't look like a kaiju, it looks like a demon. It doesn't move like an animal of any kind, it's unnervingly human in actions, it's simply WRONG. Wrong to the person viewing and wrong to the kaiju in the game, it's excellent. Not to try and sway your thoughts on whether it's scary to you or not, Red just deserves more respect that it already gets. It's an excellent design for the main threat. (Also I'd recommend looking up footage of Red in the fanmade creepypasta rom, the updated sprite, sound effects and movements REALLY sell how terrifying this creature is if the old crusty sprites don't do it for you)
I appreciate your analysis of this story, the story itself has aged a bit but I can’t help coming back to it every now and then. I think you left an outtake at 20:06 btw, haha
@@FirewoodMediaTV just for the record, the other two creepypastas you mentioned, I forgot the names of, and they're very hard to find mainly because the genre is like what you said, filled with slop. So trying to find good stories in this genre is unfortunately a task to do since it's probably rare you'll find a good story that's worth your while. Just wanted to add my thoughts to that.
I Honestly Think Making Red Not look like an Actual Godzilla Kaiju makes Him look Creepier. It also Fits his Nature of Not being of The Game, when does the whole not being of the Godzilla Universe Either, It makes him look more Alien, and I think what People find Creepy About Him is His Face, Humans are Natrually Scared of Things that Aren't Quite Human, Red looks like The In-between Stage of a Human and a Skull, Hence hes Quite Uncanny to Look At, which makes him creepier in my opinion
@@Caratrox i think cosbydaf said it in his discord server that he wanted red to have a skinned/flayed look, but never managed to achieve it on the sprite.
For me reds face and skin texture reminds me of the giant fetus hallucination from resident evil village, both the fetus monster and red both hit that uncanny valley for me.
The sprite work in this creepy is without a doubt incredible, but I do find it funny that parts of this creepypasta is just the author being amazed by his own sprit work.
Goji73 is what introduced me to the creepypasta and it is my childhood. I also want to mention that that I actually really like creppypastas in general, with them being Slenderman and Sonic.EXE
I understand and even agree with some criticisms about this things, but for me everytime i watch it the story feels like a journey and genuinely frightened me the first couple times i watched it. Re-watched it for the 3rd time and i still found myself engrossed in the narrative.
(24:15) Not gonna lie that was one of the things that kinda creeped me out when I was little. I don't just mean someone directly looking at the camera I mean like someone standing there staring at you back from the TV or movie theater screen. Doesn't say or do anything and just stands perfectly still like a statue, like Micheal Myers or Jason Voorhees sometimes do. Like something bad is about or their planing on doing something pure evil. Maybe thats why Biollante's Rose form terrified me the most when I was younger. And yes I know, out of all of the Godzilla monsters in the entire series, a flower was the thing scared me the most as a kid lol. 😬👤📺🌹😱 (42:53) Well to be fair the narrator didn't really need to mention Melissa at the beginning of the story because it wasn't until the game kept taunting and reminding him about her and what happened. If he did mentioned her at the very beginning then it might have felt a bit obvious as to whats gonna happen down the road in the story. 🤔🕹👩🪦🤷♂
Regarding your last part about Melissa, there's a thing in storytelling called "set ups and pay offs". You set something up and it pays off later. "Back To The Future" has tons of them. Almost every single line in the first act ends up having a pay off later on in the story. A good writer can implement set ups in a subtle way where the audience won't realize it will pay off later down the road. So, I strongly disagree with you, the narrator absolutely needed to at least set up Melissa earlier on. Melissa is never set up anywhere in the story, so that plotline ends up feeling like it's coming out of nowhere. A good writer can make that set up feel natural with the story while not feeling like it's too obvious in terms of foreshadowing.
That finale sounds like Ultraman Tiga final episode where: -Hero is dead, killed by the final boss -They got ultimate support with the power of love -Getting golden glittering powerful form that eventually defeats the final bosses But, the story finale was really rushed
I would be beyond terrified if some creepy game character stares and reacts to my words. Then having my dead loved ones being referenced to me and feeling pain from the game.
Hey! I just wanted to leave some of my thoughts here for the comment section to read, since... I have my own takes regarding some aspects of the story I wanted to share a theory regarding the true nature of the cartridge, because I feel many have misinterpreted it, and this is mostly based off of the new information that has been given in Nes Godzilla Replay. From this point onward, I will freely discuss the plot points seen in what we currently have of NGR, so... yeah, spoilers! ... ... ... ... ... You still here? Good, now I'll continue, As shown by the Transcendence Project, we can gather that the cartridge itself is anomalous, and one other thing: Every player experiences a whole new game. Taking this into account, and taking into account Zach's experience... my personal theory is that the cartridge might be some sort of "extreme therapy"... it might sound crazy and I know it does sound crazy, but hear me out for a bit. I think this cartridge first establishes a link with it's player, usually finishing around Earth to Jupiter (which might depend on how much the player has on their head), after which the heavier anomalies begin manifesting. As we can see, Pathos was the first proper fully new world in Zach's experience, while in Carl's experience, it was a whole new game from the get-go. Zach's experience was closely related to his status as a Godzilla fan, but Carl's experience is totally alien to any Godzilla media for the most part because he's only playing the cartridge due to Zach's account piquing his interest. Now, going mainly into Zach's experience, I don't think Red was the one pulling the strings, but rather he just tried to show himself as such; Red tried to impose himself as the God of his world, getting excruciatingly furious when things didn't go his way, and that's because *he's forced to play by the rules*. Red is just the main driving force, the manifestation of the event that killed Melissa, and thus, the biggest trauma Zachary is burdened with, but this doesn't give him absolute power over everything, he's just another asset the cartridge created for the game it wanted Zach to play, meant to be defeated. The game put Zach in extremely dangerous situations, outright almost killing him by the end, but the reward he reaps by killing red is closure for his trauma, he gets to be absolved from all guilt he felt regarding Melissa. As I talk about this, I want to go on a brief tangent: I like to believe the theory that says Zenith is a representation of Red's body, it would explain the organic level... the seas of fire... the red angel, possibly being the blue angel still being digested... it all makes sense and would make it so much more than just gorey for the sake of being gorey. Going back to the main point... my way of seeing it is that the cartridge essentially forces the player to overcome their burdens in a twisted, brutal way. Carl didn't seem particularly troubled by anything from what I recall, which would also explain why his experience isn't as terrifying as Zach's, he doesn't have any trauma or major fears to overcome. I also like this idea because it would make Red seemingly more scary as an antagonist. He was never meant to be a powerful, undefeatable force that could destroy every Kaiju in Godzilla's universe, he's a monster. A handpicked monster specifically for Zachary and Zachary only. His worst nightmare, only for him. And... the way he always seems to be so wrathful, so filled with anger, at the brink of snapping... it makes him all the more realistic and horrifying, because he's not all powerful. I hope my way of seeing stuff is interesting, I'm open to receiving any other ideas regarding what I've brought to the table! This might be a bit too convoluted... but I'm really passionate about this story! Pd: Sorry for any mistakes on my comment! English ain't my first language, so... yeah...
I do feel like to this day that the NES Godzilla Creepypasta inspired a few Kaiju that was introduced in the first Godzilla Monsterverse film which wouldn't surprise me due to the impact this story had on the internet, it's a really good story in my opinion. The player in the story at the very least thinking the game was a rom hack of some kind instead of it instantly thinking it was supernatural in some nature.
This was my first ever Creepypasta I read. I remember stumbling across a video of someone reading it one night, and thinking it was gonna be cool since I was a huge Godzilla fan. I wasn’t expecting to be traumatized. The story gave me nightmares for weeks. Now that I’m older, I think it’s still a great story, and remains my all time favorite Creepypasta to this day
I love this story and it's sequel which I do recommend you read as well, just know that replay isn't scary but unlike this story it isn't trying to be.
NES godzilla holds a special place in my heart I had found it on a random day while out on a trip to the outdoors mall in my city I had put it on my phone for background noise till i noticed all the images and pictures and it encapsulated me 13 year old me had his little mind blown to pieces that day qnd even if there are some lesser qualities of the story that younger me looked over i still think NES godzilla is top tier THATS WHY ITS THE GOAT
I always liked it in concept. It's very original for the kind of story it's trying to tell, but it has the issue of those early creepypasta where everything turns into this gory nightmare of a game, and they start describing things that the NES couldn't have handled, but also how the player turns into this kind of immaculate pro player sorting the hardest challenges on the later stages for a game that was literally writing itself on the go. If anything the demon would be a great game dev considering he made those levels so tense, challenging, and still winnable. Heck, the demon could've thrown an I wanna be the guy style of game but was too proud to not deliver an actually gun experience. The demon should've taught the devil how to make a proper game instead of the half-baked poorly-coded game that was Pony Island.
When I was younger this story spooked me so bad, whenever I tried to sleep I thought there was something crawling on my bed when I KNEW my cat wasn't in my room
Sometimes people focus so much on the story that they end up not having the "immersion" in the Creepypasta, because what makes the other Creepypastas very famous is not necessarily the story itself, but the immersion that some channels put in and managed to make people feel, in addition to the music, ambient sounds, and even the narrator's voice, it's not just about the story or the visuals, I a person from Brazil, many of the videos they made about Creepypastas seemed to take themselves quite seriously to the point of entertaining me too much, of course at some moments I was still a child or I was still young, but even today, they manage to attract me to it, and what drives me away is either the "jokes" in the middle of the stories or just criticism with a humorous tone that ends up breaking the immersion of of the videos telling the stories, honestly, I love this Creepypasta from start to finish, I can see the "mistakes" even though some seem like just someone's personal taste, but in the end, it's a good creepypasta
The Godzilla Creepypasta stands out because it is engaging and has a really likable main character. The sprite work and writing are great there are none of the stupid troupes, sometimes you don't need to be super scary just being a good story will do.
I like how the ending was a happy ending and a bittersweet ending at the same time. Sure, he survived an unthinkable event and was able to save the person that he loved. But at the same time, he just wanted the game out of his life anyway he could and that was the best way he could do it. This is a story that shows that trauma is trauma and it will always follow you, but you can also learn from it and move forward from it.
I think what added to my experience with this creepypasta was the fact I saw it in a video with voice acting, so it had weirdly the feeling of turning a page in a Junji Ito manga with the fact I could hear the character speak and there was music to give more tension to the screenshots.
One of the main things I enjoyed about the story were the illustrations in the form of "screenshots" from the game. I really liked the well-done sprites/pixel-art and designs of the various opponents (not necessarily because they were "scary", but simply because they were interesting and creative in my opinion). I also really liked the format of the original game, which had really unique gameplay in the form of the chessboard-like maps. Overall, the main appeal of the creepypasta for me was not the "scariness", but rather reading through (or listening to) an enjoyable illustrated story (which I reread and relistened to a couple of times).
I always thought this was one of the better creepypastas, like in general. At the outset it seems like just another crappy “evil game” pasta, but the story quickly becomes so creative and genuinely unnerving. The fact is that there’s scariness doesn’t even come from gore or death or some implied gore (like most pastas). What makes this one scary is the unease… the tension… the otherworldliness. Even before the exploration of all the creepy other worlds begins, something just feels off from Face to the way the game is subtly changed. It’s almost like Petscop in a way. Proto petscop Part of the appeal of the story for me was the mystery: what exactly was red? What were the strange beings and environments? What was Solomon? Was it a glimpse into Hell? Aliens? Some weird Cthulu alternative dimension? Or maybe the game was just modded by a very strange a demented person. That’s what made the story so good-it presented all these creative ideas and let you fill in the blanks… But this is why I hated the ending so much. Not only did it take away all the mystery by revealing Red was just some evil entity that hated the protagonist and his GF for no reason and there was some angel demon war really took the mystery away for me. It was so corny too. The power of love was bad enough, but then there is the point that Red had the power to trap the protagonist into playing the game, and also causing him physical pain to the point death was a possible outcome… yet instead of just killing him, Red fights him in a literal climatic boss fight. And then the fact it’s implied all the player characters are actual living beings Red tortures? So are Mothra and Godzilla real? Idk Still a great pasta. But man I could never get over the ending
Personally I've always enjoyed the story up until it becomes.. well beyond ridiculous. RED having always been a present force? The spirit of a dead girl that the story just.. expects the reader to care about? Especially when the whole introduction to her existence is literally in "Oh yeah, by the way this reminds me of" segment that just feels out of place. The game displaying graphics beyond the capabilities of the NES. The sheer cheese of the ending.. The whole thing was pretty great and eerie until it just becomes schlocky.
Love your work and also great to meet a fellow G-Nerd lol. But can you change the transition music in between chapters. It really sounds bad and like nails on a chalkboard. Keep up the good work and I look forward to more of your content
The first 2 chapters absolutely rule, the worldbuilding is solid for the most part, the plot with the dead girlfriend kind of drags it down and could be reworked, but overall it’s a fun read. It’s not overly melodramatic like Sonic.exe, it’s not as trollish as Ben Drowned, but it’s clear that the work CosbyDaf put into the story stands tall with some of the great gaming creepypastas.
I absolutely adore the og nes game, and while it is a bit sad that it's overshadowed by the creepypasta, it'll always have my respect for how artistic and unique it was and still is as a project
I'm someone who's generally not scared of horror stuff in general with the reactions I do get being more like chills and creeped out rather than real terror. I am definitely not scared by the Godzilla creepypasta, but I do find it fun, interesting, and engaging for the vast majority of its "runtime" so I would say that even if the horror part doesn't hIt it's still a pretty good story, especially for creepypasta standards and especially especially for gaming creepypasta standards.
I like to think of creepypastas as those trash horror movies from the 90s. It is shit, but we like it, because it's entertaining. There's a scene from the movie Training Day, my favorite movie, that describes it perfectly. In this scene, Alonzo, the character played by Denzel Washington, is reading a newspapper and he says "This is a newspapper. 90% of what's in here is bullshit, but I read it anyways, because it entertains me."
If anyone were to ask me about my thoughts about this Creepypasta, I'd say that it's definitely a thriller, like when you read one of Stephen King's books, or watch one of those old horror movies.
To answer the question, no not at all. But it's still a pretty fun time. I love the pixel art in it and unlike most creepypasta I feel like the writer actually likes Godzilla and kaiju in general. Also I love red as a design, he feels out of place due in a good way and while not being the coolest villain ever I feel that the "RUN" would be slightly creepy if I was playing it as a kid. Definitely gonna play the fan made remake when it finally finishes.
Reading through it, the only parts that stuck out to me as "creepypasta" was mostly just the beginning chapters and the ending. Other than that, I thought it was wholey unqiue to have a game start off as normal, only to flip to a whole different set of stuff. Like you turned on a secret B Side mode for the game with new levels. Scary? No. Neat? Yes.
I never found creepypastas scary at all. But i had a phase where i read lost media stories religiously because i already read a LOT of fanfiction as a kid. I guess thats what gives me a unique perspective. Creepypastas in my 12 year old brain were just standard dark fanfiction.
In my opinion, Nes Godzilla Creepypasta is awesome, and it makes me want to continue reading a story or watch it dubbed on RUclips. For me, Red the Hell Beasts' design is terrifying. It makes me wonder if he was one of Godzilla's kaiju; he must be a Hellish Giant Scorpion with a Skull-Human Head. For Melissa's plot, I think the narrator like Zachary keeps his memories for a long time, like he kept this trauma past for years, but after the game haunts with the words "Melissa Kill Yourself" he is shocked by the game that knew Melissa too. I think Cosbydaf made a good original Kaiju design. And, I think you should check the Nes Godzilla sequel like the Nes Godzilla replay.
Short answer nah, however its really incapsulating and builds a very intriguing narrative with its descriptions and imagery. An even Better experienced if your a G fan
Hey nice video, I can relate, I was born in 2001 and my parents never got a HDTV until 2010 or 2011, I was used to vhs, dvds, the Wii which wasn't even hd, never got a hd console until 2012 with my xbox 360 I still own.
Even though the popular creepypasta where poorly executed and a bit edgy at times, read the cave children I think that’s what creepypasta all about even though shit traumatize me for a good 2 months
This is the only creepypasta I have ever found scary besides maybe Slenderman(and only because things like DarkHarvest00 and KeratinGarden made him scary). Every single one besides those two seem to be low effort and sometimes they even try to make it stupid on purpose ;w; This one does not. The creator put love and care into it. I hope they finish the game interpretation, I feel more people would get the fear if they played it themselves, rather than follow a character in a story.
I honestly did not like the concept for NES Godzilla. Yes, the screenshots helped, but it felt corny and try-hard. I recently listened to Penpals again, and that's worth all the hype it gets
So a few things. While I do whole-heartedly understand people for not being too scared by this story, horror is still subjective. When I first saw Goji73's read aloud of the whole story, with his editing and music choices, meeting Red for the first time actually gave an impression on me. I was 13 when I first found this creepypasta and Goji73 sounded very genuine as he narrated. But that's a lot of stories in this genre with narrators trying to be funny in a crude way. I probably was of age to be consuming that kind of content but Red scared me for a while. And then I quickly grew out of it and didn't find the creepypasta scary anymore. But I still found Red's design to be kind of awesome. I disagree mostly with it not fitting the Godzilla design philosophy. Clearly this is pixel art and there was a bunch of other original creations in the game that wouldn't fit the Godzilla world but I didn't care. Red and all the new sprites looked liked it fit the game's art style in my opinion. Perhaps computer animation or maybe even cgi with some live action can also be another medium to adapt these monsters. Now as for how younger generations view older media, I do believe that's our fault with us making these creepypastas and videos in the first place and younger generations not having the same restrictions we did growing up. It was a Gen Z issue and it's definitely becoming a gen alpha issue as well, if not worse. Instead of not properly educating our young with how old media use to be like, we instead create false stories of our past with creepypastas and analog horror and young impressionable minds aren't going to know what's fake or not. That can be a detrimental issue if not properly guided. Most of us, if not all of us should be accountable and guide the younger generation towards a better path. Not continue to feed them this garbage. Need I remind you that there were actually documented of cases where children committed underage felonies because they thought these stories to be real and inacted their twisted fantasies in real life. Please, let's not have more of that. I'm serious. The parents/guardians of these children failed them. Please monitor what your children watch on the internet and don't make them watch this kind of content under the age of 15.
Short answer? No, lol. Thinking of a giant radioactive lizard running around scared to death because an even bigger skeleton monster with the head of a human bigger than GODZILLA himself is just too wild and crazy to be scary. It can be a somewhat scary game itself, like the more scary versions of the Sonic.EXE stuff, and it can be unsettling and give that horror feel for it, but the concept itself is not scary at all IMO. (Plus I saw the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla who's 30 stories tall fight an electromagnetic turtle that grew so big Godzilla was in his mouth stopping him from eating him, and I just imagine that every time which is just a funny visual, lol.)
I don't think everything in the creepypasta game is actually supposed to scale up to Godzilla Kaiju. They're all just a bunch of sprites scaled to match the size of the other game sprites.
For me, it just never felt scary at all. It just felt mostly cliche, especially the repeated "I want to stop but I can't help myself" and the final fight having that element of "The game wouldn't let me turn it off OoOoOoOo!" It also felt like it just went on for too long. Still better than The Man in the Suit Incident.
This creepypasta is like SSJ4 and Kingdom hearts. Everyone else loves it, I fucking hate it. Its well written, fair, but the contents? "And theres a big spider demon and it hurts you in real life when you get hurt in the game and then his girlfriend is in the game because she died but the demon made her die and then he gets the super monster and it destroyed the demon" When it can be summed up by Way-too-excited-5-year-old-babble and sounds like it should have fucking Coldsteel the Hedgehog in it I'm not gonna enjoy it!
For me this story starts like a typical Creepypasta but ends like a classic horror movie from the 80s and 90s, with the main character surviving but with lifelong trauma and the monster or villain de4d (the difference is that there is no ending with unexpected plot twist where the monster returns to claim its last victim)
Which somehow makes sense for Godzilla in a way, and the best part is that the story is pretty tight.
All I can think of is Red as a truck driver just driving lol
I don't understand how people interpret it that way.
Yup, Red just driving his truck… then hitting Melisa

ONE OF THE BEST CREEPYPASTAS PUT THERE! 👏👏👏
Agreed 😊👌
How is It not scary?

i was pretty young when creepypastas first really got into the mainstream which was like what 2010-2011? so i was 8-9 meaning i was pretty young throughout their lifespan and while none of them straight out SCARED me a lot really creeped me out and later on in life i would find out i have pretty bad paranoia and anxiety issues and lowkey i think some of it stems from being exposed to so many creepypastas as a kid because even now as a 22 year old man some of those stories still lie in wake in my mind until just the right scenario for them to pop up and get my heart racing but the images? oh fuck the images man the doll used for the russian sleep experiment and that one "the sandman" narration FUCKED me up to this day i cannot look at it for more than a second or two before my eyes start watering 😭
Thanks for the heads up on the editing error at the twenty minute mark! Just fixed it using RUclips's editing feature lol
@@spidergameryt4557well that’s probably because of the limitations of 8 bit technology and artstyles because I say he looks the part.
Is it scary by Todays standards? No
Is it decently written and entertaining? Absolutley
(42:53) Well to be fair the narrator didn't really need to mention Melissa at the beginning of the story because it wasn't until the game kept taunting and reminding him about her and what happened.
That finale sounds like Ultraman Tiga final episode where:
-Hero is dead, killed by the final boss
-They got ultimate support with the power of love
-Getting golden glittering powerful form that eventually defeats the final bosses
But, the story finale was really rushed
Also very similar to sonic 06

I would be beyond terrified if some creepy game character stares and reacts to my words. Then having my dead loved ones being referenced to me and feeling pain from the game.
Hey! I just wanted to leave some of my thoughts here for the comment section to read, since... I have my own takes regarding some aspects of the story
I wanted to share a theory regarding the true nature of the cartridge, because I feel many have misinterpreted it, and this is mostly based off of the new information that has been given in Nes Godzilla Replay.
From this point onward, I will freely discuss the plot points seen in what we currently have of NGR, so... yeah, spoilers!
...
...
...
...
...
You still here? Good, now I'll continue,
As shown by the Transcendence Project, we can gather that the cartridge itself is anomalous, and one other thing: Every player experiences a whole new game.
Is the story that scary… no but gosh darn it’s beautiful and so well written and the art is the icing on top.
Fun fact: this creepypasta is inspired by the Godzilla episode of Avgn

This was my first ever Creepypasta I read. I remember stumbling across a video of someone reading it one night, and thinking it was gonna be cool since I was a huge Godzilla fan. I wasn’t expecting to be traumatized. The story gave me nightmares for weeks. Now that I’m older, I think it’s still a great story, and remains my all time favorite Creepypasta to this day
I remember being enthralled with this story when I listened to Mutahar read it back when SomeOrdinaryGamers was almost eneitely creepapasta readings
I love this story and it's sequel which I do recommend you read as well, just know that replay isn't scary but unlike this story it isn't trying to be.
NES godzilla holds a special place in my heart
I had found it on a random day while out on a trip to the outdoors mall in my city
I had put it on my phone for background noise till i noticed all the images and pictures and it encapsulated me
13 year old me had his little mind blown to pieces that day qnd even if there are some lesser qualities of the story that younger me looked over i still think NES godzilla is top tier
THATS WHY ITS THE GOAT
You know the Bengals defense could use someone like Solomon
Not even Solomon could save the team at this point lmao
Also love that you used the ebay clip from transformer.
I think creepypastas have gotten much better over the years. Also I like smile dog.
Not sure if it's the scariest, but it's definitely one of the most surreal.
Maybe not. But it's still the best. 1973.
Finally! I have been waiting for this.
All I can see is Shrek
wow im old, you were in middle school when the PS$ Godzilla released? brutal lol
I always thought that this creepy pasta was scary
The original game's scarier with it's stupid time limit. 😱
Red is the Godzilla universe version of an evil truck-kun
I just wish the Melissa plot wasn't in it, it takes from the feeling of mystery that playing through these strange new parts of the game.
The problem with attempts to make Godzilla "scary" is that they usually forget one important thing: Godzilla can already be scary.
Proto petscop
Part of the appeal of the story for me was the mystery: what exactly was red? What were the strange beings and environments? What was Solomon? Was it a glimpse into Hell? Aliens? Some weird Cthulu alternative dimension? Or maybe the game was just modded by a very strange a demented person. That’s what made the story so good-it presented all these creative ideas and let you fill in the blanks…
But this is why I hated the ending so much. Idk
Still a great pasta.
@@zillagrimm1594 i mean, the transition sound came from FNAF
i really like the custom artwork and sprites in this story
No, but the fact that the storyteller took the time to draw all that makes it a good story.
Late for Halloween aren't we
This was filmed in August lmao
Most people dont know but godzilla nes got a official sequel "Godzilla Replay" and its peak too
I like to think of creepypastas as those trash horror movies from the 90s.
You forgot to mention Not-MechaGodzilla :(
If anyone were to ask me about my thoughts about this Creepypasta, I'd say that it's definitely a thriller, like when you read one of Stephen King's books, or watch one of those old horror movies.
29:53 why does this remind me of Five King from Ultraman Ginga S?
Reading through it, the only parts that stuck out to me as "creepypasta" was mostly just the beginning chapters and the ending. Other than that, I thought it was wholey unqiue to have a game start off as normal, only to flip to a whole different set of stuff. Like you turned on a secret B Side mode for the game with new levels. Scary? No. Neat? Yes.
Definitely my favorite creepypasta of all time. First heard it from Mutahar and TSP and never forgot it since.
It think it would have been better without the whole girlfriend thing
I never found creepypastas scary at all. But i had a phase where i read lost media stories religiously because i already read a LOT of fanfiction as a kid. I guess thats what gives me a unique perspective. Creepypastas in my 12 year old brain were just standard dark fanfiction.
It's really not and I'm tired of vidéo essays about how terrifiyng it is
In my opinion, Nes Godzilla Creepypasta is awesome, and it makes me want to continue reading a story or watch it dubbed on RUclips.

The story is one of my absolute favorites. No, it's not scary but it's ENGROSSING!

The game itself seems pretty fun actually lol.
This is the only creepypasta I have ever found scary besides maybe Slenderman(and only because things like DarkHarvest00 and KeratinGarden made him scary). Every single one besides those two seem to be low effort and sometimes they even try to make it stupid on purpose ;w;
This one does not. The creator put love and care into it. I hope they finish the game interpretation, I feel more people would get the fear if they played it themselves, rather than follow a character in a story.
Honestly i do like the story i dont like the climax but this pasta is way better then most gaming creepypastas
I love the creepypasta its so good
Can you design your own LED
Man i remember this creepypasts iirc i heard it first from Some ordinary gamers
Leftie.
@GokuMcDuck what do you mean by that?
It's hilarious I'm getting this on my recommended because I'm glazing the hell out of Monster of Monsters: PATHOS Attack rn on fnf.
No no, you're right. As a story, it's fine. It's just... pretty generic.
honestly i find godzilla analog horror scarier
@firestarex3544 oh for sure, but still. It's the visual process of it all and knowing the lore.
Nes Godzilla Replay is a lot better.
I hate your team 🥰🥰🥰
What?

For me, it just never felt scary at all. It just felt mostly cliche, especially the repeated "I want to stop but I can't help myself" and the final fight having that element of "The game wouldn't let me turn it off OoOoOoOo!" It also felt like it just went on for too long.
Still better than The Man in the Suit Incident.

Its well written, fair, but the contents?
"And theres a big spider demon and it hurts you in real life when you get hurt in the game and then his girlfriend is in the game because she died but the demon made her die and then he gets the super monster and it destroyed the demon"
