Red mentions during the final fight that he "can't break the rules", implying that although he can use cheap tactics, he can't just end the game or stop someone from playing it. He, like all the game's inhabitants, is bound by the parameters set in its coding. We also don't know enough about the game's world to say how much power Red has over it. Does he control every little pixel or just certain parts? We don't know, and the story goes out of its way to avoid answering that question.
Fun fact : the blue jungle exists in the original creepypasta! It only showed it's icone because Zachary "didn't put much though into it". I think is neat they took something so inocuous and minimal and turned it into a full part of the game, while also resolving the mystery of what was inside that level.
Hey, composer here! It’s nice to see that you caught the Shepard’s Tone in the void theme, I thought nobody was ever gonna notice that. Fun fact, the map theme was the easiest to write despite being multiple different styles. I made it in just one afternoon As for the game’s progress, I would like to continue, but that comes down to wether or not Iuri will continue to program it. The guy is a professonal developer with a full plate. Some of the artists are doing their own offshoot adaptation, but I personally want to stick to Iuri’s version as I think it’s the definitive adaptation of the original story, with every aspect being adapted through a truly professional lens.
Varan is also a playable character, when on pathos, you need to walk into that corner near the entrance to all the "extra levels" and orange caves, then after walking the blue mountains, a new icon will appear, making a bridge to the other side, and in the icon is something that looks like an incubator, in the level, there's decreased gravity, and the level is called gravity base, gravity base is a mini boss, that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, after destroying him you will get a cheat card, *moon gravity, decreases the gravity of you and all the enemies* then the screen will fade black, and transition you to the fighting background, and you will fight Varan, and MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN, he's harder than biollante, after killing Varan, you'll get Varan as a playable character, that's all
Actually the game development is on hiatus now, partly because it cannot pay developers in any way, there is no option to donate. The reason why there is no donation because some previous indie projects that used Godzilla and tried to made profit were banned by Toho. And basically to make progress with game someone needs to find Toho contacts and write them

The mods don’t make a profit from that except for RUclips ads which isn’t stealing money from Nintendo or hurting their image. This however can make some negative brand perception due to it being horror based and also I have have heard it might be possible to lose copyright or just have a lesser chance of winning a copyright strike if you let something slide without being official.

one thing I like about this game is that it puts a new perspective on the Red chase. walking to the right seemed too boring, and the creators knew that. they spiced it up by having Red change directions, and quickly, putting you on edge of where he's going next. the fact that getting caught doesn't mean instant game over is a neat touch as well, because Red "can't break the rules." truly the best creepypasta adaptation I've ever seen.
Those "worm creatures" are rods! They're a type of cryptid that turned out to be insects in flight captured by a relatively long exposure. Learned about them from JJBA.
lol for me is the other way around, most of the spritework from the creepypasta's screenshots are imposible for the NES harware, just take a look at the forest part
Godzilla NES has been one of my favourite creepy pastas since I found out about it in like 2016, so it's great to see it be given the praise it deserves
As someone who is a massive fan of the original GMoM I got to see multiple NGC projects live and die, and I'm just happy this game still holds relevance through the creepypasta's legacy. It's a shame Iuri and the team halted the project for the time being, but I can at least take solace knowing this project got the furthest in development and explored a lot of interesting and original ideas. Hats off to Cosbydaf, hats off to Iuri and the team, and hats off to you for making the video, mate!
i just realised, the giant and the blight are..very similar to the cave paintings aka the blue figures. Long noses, big stature. Also the blight which i assume controls one of the corpses of the giants because of the giant nose hole from its skull.. it showed 3 of those beings, you killing one of them and then encountering the other which was already dead
The best way to describe the original sprites vs the game ones are 8-bit vs 16-bit. Cosbydaf’s sprites were heavily mimicking the style of the original NES Godzilla (until Zenith). However, the game sprites have much more detail to them like what you’d see on Super Nintendo.
the paintings in the background of the blue caves describe the downfall of the Giant's civilization. Including stuff like accidentally discovering Red & Biolante, having a civil war over religion, and having their children be kidnapped/killed by The Blight & Matangos.
Hell yeah. Thanks for covering this (comparatively) niche subject. I love this creepypasta, in all of it's glory, and have a profound respect for how it's written. It's goofy, anime-esque, and tropey, but is never ashamed of itself. It's just one of the best creepypastas out there, and deserves to be more popular.
Hope they continue developing this game, its one of my favorite creepypasta stories. I'd love to see how they recreate the other chase encounters, the moon beast fight and the world of nightmares that is zenith. I also love the extra detail and lore they added to flesh out the worlds, really adds to the idea the game is a window to other worlds.

There's also a secret character you can play as - Varan! One of the tiles on I think Pathos can lead to a tank where he is held and freeing him unlocks him in Custom mode.
As creepy and amazing as this project is, I feel like some of the creepypasta-exclusive Kaiju (Ghost Titanosaurus, Not-M.O.G.U.E.R.A) could actually be real Kaiju with interesting plotlines. The idea of a Titanosaurus with it's skin becoming transparent is so cool imo
You'd be surprised what the modern Sonic.exe community looks like. The original author got pushed out ages ago and so many people were annoyed by how poorly the concept was executed (heh) originally that now there's tons of wildly different takes on the character with their own styles and identity. Some of them very experimental. It's neat!

I know a thing or two about game development and also been practicing pixel art a bit lately and seriously going that extra mile is a gigantic work that consumes a lot of time, the game was so well made that to me it is way better than most modern releases (note I said most, not all)

I believe that the encounter is based on time-passed or number-of-times-you-avoid-him, so it shouldn't matter too much either way, but it might make for a good panic button if you make a bad call and he gets too close... if you can even _use_ special attacks in that segment, which I don't know if you can.

I remember being super into NES Godzilla and absolutely hating this game for being unfaithful to the creepypasta, along with certain design decisions I just couldn't agree with, like the removal of platforming (IIRC). Me and an old friend group used to get together to mock every single design decision that was shared in the server - we also shittalked most of the community that enjoyed in the game, though mostly that was because I was a "le edgy 4chan" at the time and I found enjoyment in making fun of the "le woke" which made up the community. It's a real blast from the past seeing someone still talk about this game, and honestly I'm genuinely sad it isn't gonna be finished. Looking back most of the changes would've been for the better, really, at least gameplay wise (imagine losing a whole ass character cause you failed a jump with the janky ass controls), and I still absolutely adore the art to this day. Sad we'll never get to see Trance and all the rest.
this is such an unexplored narrative theme. kaijus vs eldritch horror. i'd love to see a movie adaptation that leans into the horror elements more so than the action.
on the red chase you actually have 3 lives with every time your monster get's caught one letter in the word run turns red and when two letters are red that is telling you that you can't get caught again before you die
The original story had more levels in the end and other forms of Red. I know it would take extra work to implement but it's well worth the undertaking to be true to the original story and for fans who play it.

Actually, the point where the game differentiates from the original is at the title screen, which should be completely normal.
The original story had more levels in the end and other forms of Red. I know it would take extra work to implement but it's well worth the undertaking to be true to the original story and for fans who play it.
