I got it more recently. It’s fine. The controls are kinda wobbly, and I prefer the PS4 game (just for movie accuracy, which always makes me super happy.)
I actually had the gameboy game and quite enjoyed it, its a challenging puzzle-like game. The fun fact is though, that as a small kid I actually wanted "Bubble Bobble" and I asked for "the game with this dragon", so i got this.
The Game Boy version is actually a localization of a previous Compile puzzle game released for the MSX called Gojira-kun (or Godzilla-kun). Interesting that this game came from the same developers as The Guardian Legend and Puyo Puyo.
Reminds me of playing Shining Force 3 on my Saturn as a kid and looking up when part's 2 and 3 are coming out! Only finally played them a year ago on mednafen. Before then it was always what turned me into an AVGN.

The very next day my poor mother had the flu and was in bed all day while I was in the next room playing it so she had to hear that music over...and over..and over. There is no other RUclipsr that I enjoy rewatching videos from so much. I rarely want to watch a video more than once, but I could re-watch these on repeat and never get bored.

The PS2 era, Godzilla games were ahead of their time IMO. Up to 4 players, melee, grappling, smash buildings and even rag-doll mechanics. Even if you don't like Godzilla (because that's why you're here right?), these are damn fun games. But as you would expect, f**king video games critics tell you to not like these games.

Whenever I feel bad about the current state of the games industry, i always go back to these vids, compare the retro games to the modern ones seeing just how much gameplay has evolved, and think to myself, "it could always be worse".
Luckily I was born just in time to play those three great fighting games he played at the end growing up. If you haven't played any of them yet and want to get one go for Destroy all Monsters Melee.
FlammableKing unleashed for the ps2 is a worse version of save the earth. It's got no new content, obsidious is a clone character of orga, they have the same exact moves, and battra may be an exclusive but he's just a clone of mothra, same moves and all.
Clones aside, I do like that the game feels more combo-friendly, and has a larger roster than Destroy All Monsters: Melee. Those are the two pros to its cons.
FlammableKing the wii version has like 27 monsters. It isn't as combo friendly though. I feel like the reason it feels more combo friendly is how slow the game goes from the lag, it makes it easier to plan combos.

This video really inspired me to get into Godzilla, and I watched all 29 movies during the summer. I became a huge fan and it's even better to rewatch this video since I actually know and understand what he's talking about. So thank you Nerd, I feel like I'm a richer person. :D
Monster of Monsters could definitely do with a remake. It would not incorporate all the characters and levels shown from the CreepyPasta like Red or the labyrinths, but I’d be happy if it includes all the Godzilla baddies before and after the NES game subject to a solid CreepyPasta. That is, if it sees international release.
Fun fact: There was a fighting game called Colossal Kaiju Combat that was going to include a weaker, re-incarnation of Red, as well as Solomon. Unfortunately, it was cancelled.

Years passed and no signs of progress were ever mentioned. The only thing ever mentioned afterward was that its development was switched over to Wii. It could have turned out to be Return to Dream Land, but that's a long-ass time span for a Kirby game.
Those games on PS3, GC and Xbox were fucking awesome but I played them way after my obsession with Godzilla. But nowadays I don't even think the top game developers and publishers wouldn't even consider making a good Godzilla game. The golden era in gaming was the sixth generation of consoles. All the best stuff happened between '99 and '05

@@theotherbk1819 Movie-licensed games are pretty much dead now, unless it's Star Wars. Nobody wants to bother making a game based on someone else's properties when they could be making a game based on their own properties instead.
@@Paperoni I don't see how that's the "opposite". They're still making games that are based on actual video game IPs that aren't licensed from a movie or TV show. If the movies released in the past decade came out twenty or thirty years ago, there'd be developers lining up to make video games based on the MCU, the MonsterVerse, Fantastic Beasts, etc.
But now times have changed. Why buy a license that's going to expire in a few years when you can acquire an entire IP or create your own and have it last for as long as your company still makes games?
Most licensed games I see nowadays are for smartphones, such as _Hilda Creatures_ , based on the Netflix show _Hilda_ , for example.

Monster of Monsters could definitely do with a remake.
It would not incorporate all the characters and levels shown from the CreepyPasta like Red or the labyrinths, but I’d be happy if it includes all the Godzilla baddies before and after the NES game subject to a solid CreepyPasta.

Those games on PS3, GC and Xbox were fucking awesome but I played them way after my obsession with Godzilla. But nowadays I don't even think the top game developers and publishers wouldn't even consider making a good Godzilla game.
The golden era in gaming was the sixth generation of consoles. All the best stuff happened between '99 and '05
The NES game was okay in my opinion. It was a lot of fun, but DAMN was the creepypasta amazing.
