    It seems the media are glossing over the major factor of the ground the game was played at… Collingwood going to Port and winning in Port is enormous. I don’t think that games shows Collingwood are close to the pack, I think it shows they might be a level above everyone.

    • @gbtrat

      They've beat the side that won 14 in a row twice, and if they play a third time, it will be at a ground where the Pies won by 76. As long as Collingwood don't get upset in a qualifying final they are an unbackable favorite to win the flag

      Collingwood and Geelong in 2011 were also absolutely insane that season. The Pies literally only to lost the Cats that year and the Cats only ever lost to the Bombers after a 14-0 start to the season, West Coast the following round and Sydney at what was called Skilled Stadium back then.

    Before the game Hinkley and Rozzie said the wet weather suited them and that they were happy with the conditions, the weather suited the bigger side as we play a fast pace game but hard in the wet and to do that as well away, that has to hurt port a lot more than people admitting cause what happens when it’s a dry game and good luck slowing us down considering this was one of the few wet games we’ve even played all year and also knowing we won’t be leaving the MCG all finals basically

    do people not realise they rested 7 for this game, gave up their streak (so no additional mental pressure) and had this game at home. they actually zoned in and tried gave their selves the absolute best chance at winning and failed.

    I think it's over for Port, if they couldn't beat Collingwood at home in the wet after resting 7 players the week before then It will be very very hard to beat them at the MCG in a prelim or grand final. There's also the psychological aspect of losing after going all out while having all the advantages and knowing the last time they played Collingwood at the MCG they lost by 71 points. The only team that I feel like is a threat to Collingwood at the MCG is Melbourne.

    • @Jazzanaught
      @Jazzanaught Год назад

      Quite the opposite. Collingwood had to pull 3 goals out of their ass to win that which they probably don’t get next time. Ports only mistakes were Farrell not marking and Jones out on the full, other than that they proved they can hang with and beat Collingwood. I think Collingwood got quite lucky and another day may be a different result and their players probably feel the same.

Once the finals start, everyone is going to expect them to waltz to the flag, & if they get into a close tussle, everyone will expect them to hang on & get the job done - that's going to be the real pressure, the real test. I can't fault his enthusiasm, but Craig McRae needs to settle down a bit. It's mid-July, and the Grand Final is still more than 2 months away. He's acting like Collingwood have just won the premiership. You need to win the Grand Final in September to win the premiership, not an interstate match in Adelaide in mid-July. Has he forgotten about the Colliwobbles, or has he just not been at Collingwood for long enough to know about them? Collingwood have won just 2 premierships in more than 6 decades since their 1958 Grand Final victory. I'd be keeping a lid on it. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done.

I mean what more do u want? Besides adelaide who beat them, who else can give it to them at their home deck? And stfu abt craig mate, he’s the most humble/in the moment coach you’ll ever come across. McRae is approaching this his way. The idea of being hyped and tense prior and after matches with stern faces and snapping at reporters or stonewalling is passe as far as he is concerned.
