Fun fact: the Half Back line played on the same premiership team in the TAC Cup in 2014, with Darcy Moore playing as the captain, other players in the team who are on AFL lists today are: Jordan De Goey (Collingwood), Marc Pittonet (Carlton), Toby McLean (Western Bulldogs) and Daniel McKenzie (St Kilda)

Jack Viney is one of the toughest, head over the ball, do everything for your team mates attitude in the entire squad. He’s always overlooked and under rated, but a true champion and un-sung hero of the Melb footy club at least, and possibly wider league.
But not good enough to be selected dude that's a fact.

@@imalwaysrightidk, it's the same as Tom Liberatore. They both have always taken the game on and are very underrated players for their respective clubs. Both players should've been all Australian, several times now. I think it's because all they care about, is what players do with the ball, like petracca and bont. They don't really care about who gets the scrap ball first and makes the first play, to give the ball to their star players like bont or petracca.
@@jajsjfje2335selectors don’t watch every game as well and it’s very AFL stats based. Libba’s scrapping is pivotal to the Dogs and allows Bont to be player he is.

U R kidding me , Nick Diacos in the mid field ? It is 16 games to be eligible and there is no way he played that many out of the middle ! Him for Wilkie in defence is a no brainer, Josh Diacos ? Dawson was more effective and that is just to mention 1 out of many . Just goes to show how 💩 the selection is year on year . P

Happy Larkey got in, but also surprised. Knew Tex and Curnow were def in. Wasn't sure they'd pick a forward in the interchange, but his season was such they they couldn't refuse. Well done Souva!

Excellent selections all around. As an American who watches the game through RUclips highlights and the occasional viewings on Fox Sports Channel, I thoroughly enjoy how the AFL does their version of an All Star team (love those blazers, btw!) and show major class by including the officials in the All Australian selections. (side note: Sarah looked absolutely stunning in that yellow dress!)

Wasn't as bad this year. Petracca played mostly forward line for a good portion of the year. They even picked real forward pockets. AND a spare tall forward on the bench!!

The voice over commentary is bad first they said Nick daicos makes his AA debut this year when in fact it was last year and then she said Caleb serong has made back2back AA when it was his debut this year clearly didn't do their research properly or fact checked it?
If you check, Nick Daicos actually didn't make the AA side last year, he didn't even make the initial squad of 44...he should have been, but he wasn''t (Josh Daicos was in the initial squad of 44 but missed out on the final squad)...they picked (would you believe?) Adam Saad on one HBF ahead of Nick Daicos....a shocking decision.

Putting in tom Stewart above Harris Andrews in an absolute joke considering they play pretty much the same role. Stewart had a fine year, but Andrews basically won the lions at least 5 of their games with his intercepting. Stewart played to get through the year like most of his cats team mates, whereas Andrews played to win every week. AA squad should be ashamed.

Mate if you watched Geelong games you'd know this was the case basically every game with Stewart. He had the most intercepts of any defender in the league. Cats would have had a disastrous year without him.

I'm one of Toby's biggest fans that's not a gws supporter. Liked him when everyone hated him. In saying that how in the world does he get captain of the all Australian team in the same week he falsely accused and tried to get a player rubbed out for finals. That is not in the spirit of the game and never has been. No other captain would do such a thing and it's actually incredibly embarrassing for the afl but thie is their standards these days. The afl are an absolute joke of an organisation.

At North he gets far fewer chances to contest for the ball, let alone win it and kick goals. The service he gets from teammates is also of lesser quality, which is why North have been bottom for 4 years straight.
